Bright colors, fast moving ink. Upside or downside? You decide.
by MK van Bronkhorst (4 out of 5 stars)

These are going to take some getting used to. The first time out, the neon green marker ran so rapidly that I am still sopping green ink off the walls and wainscoting trim in my office. My fault for not letting them rest for a few minutes after priming the tips.

The ink flows rapidly, so I'm not planning to use these on vertical surfaces again (see above re the green river of neon ink).

The chalk writing does not seem to dry quickly, unlike similar markers, but I was a bit surprised to find a mirror imprint of my writing on the front of my apron after waiting ten minutes before picking up the object to carry it. Luckily, a damp rag removes anything left behind. Again, I will have to just get used to how these work.

PRO: The ink is nice and bright.

CON: The ink is nice and fast, running rather rapidly.

UPDATE: SuperChalks contacted me for more information, and offered a full refund. I accepted this gratefully, and am adding a star plus a seller review.

I was a little disappointed to find that my 8-pack did not have a blue pen as shown in the product image - I received 2 purples instead. Aside from that the chalk pens write nicely and the colors that I do have pop nicely on a black chalkboard.

That was a very nice gesture and as a small business owner myself
by D Law (5 out of 5 stars)

I recently ordered these products and was surprised to receive an email from the company stating the proper use and context of the markers. I guess some people have purchased and were unhappy and returned them...? That was a very nice gesture and as a small business owner myself, I appreciate the personal touch.

I have a couple wet erase boards, which are basically the same as dry erase, except they're black and you can use these markers on them. The contrast is much greater than on a white board and resembles those light-up blackboards, which generally run about $115. I have 2 boards in a fitness facility for daily motivation and people can generally read them from 10 feet away - depending on my handwriting. These colors pop! People go in for a closer look if they can't read from a distance. The pens create a fine line, but if you apply more pressure and get more product in the felt tip, you'll get a bolder line. To clean my board I use a wet sponge ( multiple rinses may be needed depending on your line thickness) and paper towel to dry. The directions also state that these can be used on any hard, non-porous surface. I haven't tried them on anything else.

These would work great in a restaurant, coffee shop, or anywhere you want to have a static or variable greeting, menu, or something fun to make people smile or think.

If you have an appropriate chalk board this is your one stop to get the cool chalks you need to make
by Dragember (5 out of 5 stars)

I bought these fully intending to be productive on the chalk board I bought but admittedly I primarily use the orange, bright green, and purple to draw Eva Unit 01. These are fully vivid, and achieve this task very well. Keep in mind they are liquid chalk so they don't work well on conventional porous chalk boards (I hear they don't erase because they seep into the pores).

If you have an appropriate chalk board this is your one stop to get the cool chalks you need to make some pretty cool stuff. Or be professional and write down a to-do list or something, it's up to you.

Bright, beautifu, fluid color
by Elizabeth (4 out of 5 stars)
December 19, 2014

I really enjoyed these chalk markers. The colors are bright and the "ink" is fluid. I had no problems with dripping or bleeding color. They each took some time to get the ink flow started and I feared I would damage the tips, but they are more resilient than I gave them credit for.

They took an average time to dry and were easily washed off of both my cafe chalk board and the 3M chalkboard tape http://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00NBL3URK/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I had purchased.

My only complaint is that the colors began to run out rather quickly. I usually use Chalk Ink brand, which seem to have almost double the ink. Since my most used color is white, I could easily pick up an extra white marker and still be comparable to the price of an 8 pack of Chalk Ink. I also feel like these colors are brighter and, at the lower price, make a great accent to my usual brand.

The seller sent an email shortly after I purchased these chalk markers to remind me that they are for use on non-porous surfaces only (chalkboard paint on a wall will result in permanent discoloration) and a link to cancel the order if I did not realize that before I purchased them. With Prime shipping I had already received my markers by the time I saw the email, but I still appreciated the warning since I would have hated to ruin any surface with permanent color.

purchasing these is taking a risk (happy that some of the pens work)
by Elizabeth Z (2 out of 5 stars)
March 3, 2015

At first, I had a great trial with the first couple I tried (blue & white). But as I tested them all, I found my yellow, green, orange, and purple to just be liquid but not opaque on my chalkboard (I'm hopeful that they'll be better next time I try, but it's unlikely). I very much appreciated the followup email I received after I made the purchase, but I think I already tried out a couple of the pens before getting the email! I knew the risk I was taking about the porous surface but I tested a spot and it came off with a damp paper towel (dry has not worked, though some will come off, I can't imagine the board being clean with that method).

If only one or two of the pens didn't show up well as expected, no big deal, but this was a pretty big purchase ($16 isn't nothing) and now I'm down to just a few actually working. The pink was the most vibrant when I first used it but didn't work well the second and third time I tried. I've only had these marker pens for a month so I'm not sure what the deal is. I tried shaking and all that, but still just tinted liquid. I think I will just need to invest in some dusty chalk...sad. I was also hoping these would be a bit thinner as I was gifted a 8 1/2 by 11 inch chalkboard (small). It's also a bummer than the consistency of each pen isn't really the same. I expected the opaque/liquid to match somewhat when used together...

Initially I was happy with these, but I definitely wouldn't buy them again. They may work for you, but it's a risk (one I knew was possible when I first made the purchase). I feel bad not being able to put up a super positive review because the folks that contacted me were so nice and helpful, but I just want to make sure people know the risk involved in this purchase (they may work, they may not).

I love the colors they are bright and fun
by sylvia (3 out of 5 stars)

I bought these markers to use on some labels I bought . I love the colors they are bright and fun ! You give it a few shakes and it works no problem . It was easy to wright on the labels and once you let them dry it looks good . However I gave it 3 stars because the writing comes off so easily . I do not know if it was the labels or the markers and I do realize they are wipe-able. I used the label on a mason jar and any time I would pick it up some of the chalk paint would wipe off onto my skin or shirt .

Overall I was not thrilled with these but may still use them for something after all they are chalk paint markers so this purchase is not a total disappointment .

These are markers, not chalk... Just Markers
by AndyB (4 out of 5 stars)

Just don't call it Chalk. It's not chalk. It's dumb to advertise something as Chalk, but then have to go through so many efforts to try to clarify "Wait, this actually isn't chalk, it won't work on chalk boards" etc. It doesn't make any sense! If it won't work on CHALK BOARDS, don't call it CHALK! Just stop causing the confusion in the first place. Caused me - and I assume by the too-little-too-late follow-up email, several other people - a lot of trouble.

Needless to say I did not use them so I can't speak to how well they work. The company did a lot to try to make things right. Precision kitchenware customer service is top notch. Still think they should change the name though.

Felt tip has fallen out of half of them
by Rebecca D. (2 out of 5 stars)
November 7, 2016

These worked fine, except for the fact that the felt tip has fallen out of half of them, and won't allow more "ink" to be pumped out so they are useless now. And the worst part is that I have only used them each 4 times, once a month to rewrite a calendar, so it's not even from heavy use its just from poor quality.

Also side note, the red and white ones are the hardest to remove, the red one requires alot of scrubbing with a brillo pad to fully remove and not leave a red ghost image.

I bought these to use on a vinyl wall calendar ...
by Jessica (5 out of 5 stars)
November 14, 2016

I bought these to use on a vinyl wall calendar. The pens are very bright and you can make multiple passes to make a more saturated line. I did have to shake them and press the tip down for a long time before the ink started flowing. Sometimes while writing on a vertical surface the pens have a little trouble writing which is expected with any pen. (just put the cap back on and shake it some more, and press the tip on a horizontal surface for a few seconds)
