A yummy game! WATCH A DEMO :D

Lots of fun. Super adorable artwork. Great for kids (8+) and adults. And it comes in a cute "bento box" tin. A delightful game to add to game night. It kept the kids occupied all night when we had friends w kids over for dinner. They kept wanting rematch after rematch. Lol

There's an excellent demo of this game on youtube. STAR TREK Next Gen's Wil Wheaton demonstrates how to play Sushi Go. Since amazon won't allow me to include a URL, search "TABLETOP sushi go" (TableTop is the name of Wil Wheaton's series on board games). Sushi Go is featured in the second half of the video :)

Great game for new gamers

If you're considering purchasing this item now, and if money is no object, you should look to Sushi Go Party instead.
Sushi Go Party! Card Game

Sushi Go! Is a great game, but Sushi Go Party is basically everything Sushi Go! is and more. I have heard rumors that the quality of the card stock used in Sushi Go Party is a bit worse than what is used in Sushi Go!, but I've never handled the Party edition so I can't say for certain. I can say that the card stock used in Sushi Go! is great.

Sushi Go! is a "pass and play" game, and the first of it's type that I had ever tried. Basically everyone starts with a handful of cards, decides one to play, and passes the rest of the cards (all the ones they decided not to play) on to the player next to them. This goes around and around until all the cards have been played. After everything has been played you total up everyones points for the round and see who won.

This is one of those games I break out when the other players are not regular gamers. It's easy enough to learn, and the theme is cute and... well... tasty. The rounds are short enough that people won't get bored, and since everyone is basically taking their turn at the exact same time there's no waiting around.

I find this game is a bit chaotic for my strategic slow game preferences. Since everyone is playing at the same time it's difficult to base your play according to what everyone else is doing. It's also pretty hard to remember everything that is flying by as you pass the cards from person to person. I saw the maki roll last time, but now it's, gone? Or it just hasn't come back yet? Glance at the table to see if someone played it... by then you're almost holding up the game! This quick speedy aspect is also what makes the game fun, so probably shouldn't complain much there. Only other personal gripe I have with the game is that while play is super fast paced and frantic, scoring each round takes a second. There are multipliers and each card type has a different way of being scored, so you can't just look at everyones play area and quickly determine who won the round.

Good times though! Lots of laughs and great for new gaming groups. Plays well with 4 players so if your'e a pair of couples it's a great game to break out.

The metal tin is quality as well!

Our family's favorite game!

We absolutely love this game! We had the smaller deck and it took a couple hands and a YouTube video to figure out, but we loved it so much we got this one!

Warning, if you haven't played the original deck, doing both of these the first time out of the chute will probably be overwhelming. Good news about this, though, is the beginner deck comes individually wrapped as does the expansion deck. The beginner deck is the one with the sashimi, wasabi, tempura, chopsticks, maki rolls, and a few others.

You will also find heavy card slates that represent each type of card. These are helpful for reminders of what the cards are all about. The game board and pieces are not necessary, but helpful.

It is such a fun game, but it does take a little time to learn! It isn't Uno! ;). Enjoy!

Great fast paced family friendly game

This game never gets old. It has a very family friendly theme and is a great way to introduce new card players to games other than Uno or regular playing cards. You can also play this game with people of all ages, as kids will definitely enjoy it too. The instructions are very straight forward and can be taught in minutes. My family usually uses this game to kick off or end our gaming night, as it very fast paced and doesn't require much effort to strategize. For a complete play through video of the game, YouTube search "Tabletop Sushi Go" and start at the 18:45 minute mark.

Fast and Fun

What a fun game this is. I play with my 7 year old granddaughter, her parents and sometimes a friend of hers. It is fast and fun.

I'm picked up this game for two reasons. 1: my granddaughter and her parents love sushi. 2: it was recommended as a very fun game. The goal of the game is to to achieve the highest score. Each person gets a number of cards depending upon the number of people playing. 2-5 people can play, but with two people it is not as much fun. Each card has a score number, you play 3 rounds and then add up your score from each game. The game is simple to play, play a few hands to pick up the fun of it.

In our family we play this 2-3 times a week. On vacations it's a fun game for everyone. The game is not expensive, and if you like playing games, you will really like this one.

Fun!

This is a fun game and great for kids and adults. I have two complaints though: The rules are not super clear on some things, so you might have to read them a couple times to understand a few of the rules. Also, the scoring system is not one super young kids will get, so it's best an adult play if young kids are involved. Overall it is a fun game. Basically you are passing sushi cards around and trying to collect ones that give you points. For example, if you get 3 of a certain card you might get 6 points, or the most of a certain card might give you 4 points, etc. It's a cute game and the pictures on the cards are adorable.

Kid's First Card Drafting Game
by Haon the Great,Top Contributor: Chess (5 out of 5 stars)

My 8 year old squealed with joy when she saw the cute little wasabi, then proceeded to destroy us with her superb card selection. Such a good introduction to this game.

For those who are unaware, card drafting games involve selecting a card to play, then passing all the cards to the player on your left. Repeat until all the cards are gone, then add your points. After three rounds of this process, the game is over. The name comes from drafting the cards that will maximize your points, knowing you can't have them all - and neither can your opponents!

Sushi Go! has enough variety in the cards and their abilities to bring real strategy to the table, and as the squeals should tell you, the art is adorable. As my wounded ego should also tell you, it is also easy enough for kids to catch on and play. Highly recommended for families and groups of friends who like games.

Good fun for all most ages 8+

Very fun family or party game. We picked this up to have something to do while out of town for my mother's funeral. There was going to be a lot of down time with a lot of people and kids from 9and up. It was also at a place where we could not go swimming. Figured we could play a few games in the evening... Worked out very well. The kids as well as the adults had a great time! If I could suggest anything I would suggest a score pad to go with the game. (there might be an app now that keeps score) if you will be playing with a larger group check out sushi go party. We have it but have not yet played.

Highly recommend for game night, and family game night!

My twin girls (8 1/2 years old) and I thoroughly enjoyed playing far too many rounds last night. Once you go through a few rounds, you figure it out, and it turns much more fun than it looks at first glance. With some strategy, you can really mix this up. The girls played it by themselves today and only after one kept winning too frequently, did they finally give up. (one is better at strategy than the other).

Simple fact, this is a fun adult and kid game. Can't wait for another game night with friends to play with a mix of adults and kids!
