Most Adorably Useful Dryer Buddies

While they may be a bit strange looking, these are a very smart purchase. Not only are they basically eternally useful, they're freaking adorable. I no longer have to buy dryer sheets, as these little fish are fantastic at removing static and lint from my clothes. Even after quite a bit of use, they are showing no wear and tear, nor are they becoming any less effective. My only extremely minor complaint is the initial noise level they generate when you start the dryer. And that's only because I'm too lazy to bury them in my clothes to avert such a situation, which you may be willing to do. Overall, fantastic purchase and if ever they needed to be replaced, I would certainly buy them again. Especially if they came in other colors because that's just even more fun.

For anyone who may be wondered, they are approximately the size of a small apple and they are not rock hard, but very firm. They don't squish easily and they retain their color exceptionally well. No need to worry about clothes being damaged or stained by these little fellas. 10/10 would recommend.

Update 02/18: One fish has gone Nemo on me and lost a fin. It looks a little sad now, but it continues to perform valiantly. I'd still recommend the little guys.

I absolutely love these things! I've heard for years how horrible dryer sheets are for you, so I tried wool balls. Holy static, batman! The static was so bad neighborhood cats were flying out of no where to stick to my clothes when I walked to the mailbox. I went back to dryer sheets until I saw these cute little guys! My decor is "beach house" so they fit right in. My laundry is softer and as long as I don't over-load the machine, no static! The real test will be winter, which can take as long as it wants to get here.

cute, and works. Unfortunately, my dog loves them, and searches the laundry basket for them to play with (ie shred).

Of course, they're so cute, they require names, and mine are (white) Larry and (blue) Darrell. Larry #1 was shredded, leaving Darrell all alone, so I had to order Larry Jr and (blue) Daryl. If these three amigos get hunted and poached by a marauding Jack Russell with OCD, I'll need to sign them up on Amazon Subscribe-and-Save.
(Just to be straight, package includes 2, but when one ie eaten, that orphan plus 2 more results in the 3 that I have now)

1. They are better for the environment. 2. They are so stinkin' cute. 3. When on the newer side they definitely do reduce the drying time and static cling. As they age (maybe 6 months) they don't control the static cling anymore. However, if I have to buy these twice a year and it reduces drying time, static cling, and reduces waste, that is fine with me.

I love these. I live in the desert and in the winter especially it gets super dry and static becomes insane here. I don't much care for dryer sheets because they stick to everything and my dog likes to destroy them, so these balls are amazing. They have completely cut down the static in my clothes and sheets. Even microfiber sheets come out with zero static. I'm impressed. They have also improved drying time by quite a bit as well. They make the dryer a bit noisy but I can live with that for all the benefits.

Open laundry room layout blows

Have wanted these forever, I love the brand's humor and the design is too cute. Finally got them and ran into a problem, but maybe more a problem with the layout of my house, these make your dryer noisier, a problem we were already having since our main living area is next to the laundry room which doesn't have a door, keep this in mind. Sometimes they work their way into the middle of the clothes I think and noisiness goes away. They are working well to help dewrinkle clothes that didn't get folded on time, so using them in addition to the steam setting on my dryer.

They are cute, but not functional. I used this less than 5 times and it already broke into pieces. It also leaves clothes very staticky. I will not be buying these again.

We bought a house that came with a washer and dryer. Inside the dryer were these spikey balls. I had no idea what they were for but we ran our dryer leaving them inside. Eventually I was told by a friend that these help soften clothes without dryer sheets. My friend also told me that his mom had them, but hers were shaped like hedgehogs. I like hedgehogs so I immediately went on to Amazon and found not only hedgehogs but puffer fish. Score! Now, instead of having boring, round spikey balls banging around my dryer making noise and naturally softening my clothes, I have hedgehogs and puffer fish clanking around my dryer keeping my clothes soft. Don't know if these guys are making me taller, more attractive, smarter or a better listener, but they sure do look cool hanging out in my dryer. If you need spikey dryer balls in your dryer, these get the job done!

I freaking LOVE these! Definitely cuts down on the drier time needed, and I can lower the temp on most loads too. The white fish didn't stay pure white, after a couple of washes with denim and darks the tips of it's spikes and fins are now blue; a very minor issue that doesn't affect it's quality or function. We've been using them for a few months now and I'll never go back to not using a dryer buddy - I HIGHLY recommend!

I'm surprised how much these actually make a difference! My loads of laundry dry about 10-15 minutes quicker, and the clothes are very soft. Love them!
