Disappointing

Breathalyzer turns on and will stay on until the second I try to Bluetooth connect it to the app. The breathalyzer shuts off and the app pulls up a message stating the breathalyzer battery is low. The first time I assumed the battery that came with it may have been old or cheap so I replaced it with a brand new battery. Same situation. Once again, I replaced the battery and the same message popped up. I had high hopes because I owned a BACtrack breathalyzer in the past that I loved and sadly lost it one night. So, I gave the device the benefit of the doubt since I trusted the brand name. After two months with multiple batteries and attempts on multiple smartphones, I gave up and wanted to return it. Unfortunately I missed the return deadline and now I am down $50. Before this I would have recommended BACtrack in a heartbeat, now my opinion has changed about the brand since they clearly do not sell quality products.

If there was an option for zero stars I would gladly give it. This item does not work and I cannot return it even though I am within the 30 day window. Numerous people have tried this item and the readings are all over the place. None of us have had a drink and we are trying the test at different times and there is zero consistency. This product just straight sucks. I'll gladly sell you mine so I can make back some of my money and you don't blow 50 dollars.

Eye opening

I bought this for more of a party trick but soon realized that it was an eye opening education. I tested it on myself in a safe environment among friends at a party and after 1 hour and not quite 3 beers I blew over the MA legal limit of .08 (.09 actual). My police officer friends verified the "likelihood" of its accuracy (only real way to prove it is with a blood test or an actual law enforcement breathalizer). The eye opening part, I thought I was fine to drive. It's worth having in your pocket just to check yourself.

This thing is awesome. I had reservations about how accurate it would be, but it is absolutely acceptable... and considering the price, the size, and the range of things the iphone app provides with it, it's a great buy and worth it's weight in gold. If you like to go to the bar and enjoy yourself, but don't want to get in trouble... this is for you. It fits on your key chain with out too much bulk... I mean, it's bigger than a few keys, but not much. Totally worth it.

No longer works, about 7 days then dead

Delivered on Monday. started using it on Tuesday. Worked great, tried it again on Wednesday, great results. Tried on Friday, took longer for results but just fine. Saturday night, working great. Sunday, every result equaled sober. Then message about sensor damaged. No longer works.

It serves a purpose, but does not give accurate readings. I have tested itafter a drink, one minute apart and it reads up to 10% different, higher on the 2nd reading. I tried it again with a friend and it did the same. I also had it read me at 0 (zero) and one minute later read me at a BAC of .05. It's ok, but take it all w a grain of salt. And if you're using it for true verification, go elsewhere. If you're trying to prove something, this is not the answer.

Works very well. Clear instructions, easy to use. Only reason it didn't get 5 stars is because it is inherently flawed due to the bluetooth; having to fiddle with your phone and an app can be a little tricky if you are a bit drunk. Hopefully, if you use this, you won't get to that point but it would be nice if it had a small LCD screen or something and used bluetooth to track your BAC, give more information, etc.

Love this item... Allows me to confidently drink responsibly, when I still have to drive! ...& I've used it to prevent drunk/buzzed friends from driving while under the influences of alcohol!
...Also, but carry an extra battery with you they don't seem to last that long.
