Allows a power supply "block" to be plugged into an outlet without blocking the second jack. I bought the Quirky because it has a right-angle plug so it doesn't stick out too far from the wall.

This is by far the best solution to having multiple bulky plugs, especially since I have a few devices that have bulky chargers, and it eliminates the need to swap out plugs.
