I was in need of both a pet and a deliciously sweet snack. This served both purposes nicely. I was disappointed that Amazon Prime was not available as I feared my python would not arrive in a healthy state. To my surprise Monty arrived safe and sound!

Upon opening the box I knew I had found my new best friend in Monty. His sweet eyes bulged out at me in delight. I knew he was also happy to be home.

For the first week Monty and I had a great time. We went on several outings including the herpetarium. You could tell he was excited to see some fellow reptiles. It was a great day!

Shortly after our outing Monty became sluggish. He was losing his gummy luster and his muscles began to atrophy and harden. I furiously searched Amazon for a gummy rat as it occurred to me that I was not properly addressing his food needs. This should have been addressed in his papers. They also should have provided ready access to gummy rats. Thank God I found them as Monty was surely about to slither into the afterlife.

The disappointing aspect, and thus 4 stars, is that the care instructions and access to gummy rats was very poor. I had no idea that pet ownership would be this challenging!

I can happily report that the Monty and I are doing quite well. We share a gummy rat each week and his shine is back. I have placed several heat lamps in his play area to keep him warm and supple.

The biggest negatives are really a personal matter. Since we are sharing the gummy rats I have found my weight has increased exponentially. I often have tremors at night that can only be resolved by eating additionally rats - though I have cut caffeine from my life. The dentist is working on some implants for me and once that is done life should be complete.

In total, this had been a great adventure full of love and joy. I would caution that pet ownership is a serious responsibility and these pythons need a lot of care.

A very big snake

It was rather difficult to carry this on the train. You feel every single one of those 26 pounds. It was, however, a worthy endeavor; the snake has enough meat to satisfy an office for days, and the recipient was very excited. It is a worthy investment for snake lovers.

I debated between buying this gummy worm, or an IV filled with the blood of a diabetic. I chose the gummy worm, best decision of my life. Not only do I not need friends because this gummy worm is always there for me (I mean come on, would you eat this?). Secondly, I can always rely on this heavy piece of gelatin to weigh down my papers and other miscellaneous loose objects on my desk, where I fill out the paperwork for shenanigans such as burning down African villages and field trips to war torn Vietnam. Again, 10/10 would buy again. 4/5 stars because I haven't poop for 3 months.

yum. Hello, it's gummy, it contains gelatin, it's huge, contains massive amounts of sugar. If you don't know that when you buy it you shouldn't be shopping online.
