The LEAK

They leak like crazy. All 3 sandwich six bags are leaking from the top seams. The 2 snack bags aren't as of now. They are not returnable so I have to buy something else that won't leak. Very disappointed since I have owned blue avocado bags in the past and they didn't leak.

These are my favorite silicone bags. I have been using Blue Avocado products for 4+ years so I'm very familiar with their items. They have changed their silicone bags from their original issue but these ones are definitely living up to par with the original based on durability and reliability. They are easy to close, work well with all snacks, super simple to clean and don't have a bad plastic-y smell. I do not recommend using in your dishwasher - hand wash only and air dry! They will last longer!! Also, if you find the lock isn't closing, use a drip of corn/olive oil to lubricate it and it will be back to normal in seconds. This is a direct recommendation from the manufacturer.

These bags are great and just what I was looking for. They wash and keep well. I really like these instead of constantly using baggies that end up hurting animals and the environment. My only issue is that if you keep anything in the bag too long (3+ days) then the food starts to taste plastic-y. But otherwise it's a great product!

I bought this originally for my food because I want to be more environmentally friendly. I use these to bring my lunch to work or to store left over food or fresh vegetables. The zip seal works very well. It doesn't open by itself like some other zip seals do. Water doesn't leak out if you have any liquidy food. And, I recently found another use of these bags. I use these for my makeup bag for my purse. Because these are slim, it doesn't take much space in my purse at all (I refuse to use big purses, so sometimes not having enough space is a problem for me). My purse looks so organized and I have way more space than before. Also, because the zip seal works well, I don't have to worry about things fall out in my purse. I think these are good buys, you won't waste your money on these!

Not a good reusable bag

I wish I hadn't purchased these. You can put them in the dishwasher, but they stay soaked and so you have to turn them inside out to dry them. And now one of the big bags is getting really hard to seal. I have used the machine washable zipper bags for years and I should have stuck with those.

So far these bags have been pretty good - I meal prep for the week and have multiple snacks/sides per meal so I tend to go through a lot of disposable bags. I wanted to try these so that I could save money over time but also produce less waste.

These are pretty easy to clean, just need to remember to keep them open to fully dry out. They say they are leakproof but at least one of mine isnt sealed all the way so liquids can drip out. Not a huge deal for me because I am using these for things like baby carrots, sliced apples, nuts and berries, etc mostly dry items.

The locking mechanism is pretty secure, it holds the bag closed tightly. Because the material is considerably thicker than a disposable bag like a ziplock, it is a bit "stiffer" and also larger as there is about a 1cm lip of material around the edge so depending on how big your lunch box is you may need to account for a little extra space.

I have only handwashed them and it is as easy as washing anything else by hand.

Food has stayed fresh in the bags as well which is of course a plus.

I wish I could buy different selections of sizes more easily though.

These reusable bag are just okay for me. I bought 2 sets (10 bags in total) and three have holes in them, which was really sad for my son's lunch box that day. One tore just with having tortilla chips in them! not sure how the others ripped. They do close nicely, firm pressure is needed to completely close bag. I would not buy again.

Watch out this item is unreturnable!!!

I opened this package felt the product and opened to try the seal. Right away I did not like it. The bags smell strongly of plastic. Your food in the bags would totally smell like plastic. I can't even imagine if you put a sandwich in it what would your sandwich smell and taste like (yuck). The bags are stiff so it almost does not seem easy to wash. I have gotten a different set from a different company and theirs are soft and really easy to wash and has no smell. And the last thing is the product is unreturnable!!!! Now why would the company make this product unreturnable? Makes it seem like the company is not confident with their product and knows that there are a lot of flaws in it. So now I am stuck with them...

Good but could be better

Positives: Feel great about reducing waste! Works well in freezer, can be washed in dishwasher

Negatives: Hard to seal all the way, lettering on the outside starting to come off after less than 2 months of use, hard to get crumbs out of corners

Over all I like this product- it's not as easy to seal as a ziplock and it is hard to get all the crumbs out. I try to turn completely inside out to wash but that is a little difficult with the smaller size ones. I wash in the dishwasher but take them out before the heated dry. I would buy again but hope they figure out some of these kinks!
