nice find for hotel security

Update October 2015: have used any many hotels now. Doesn't always work at every hotel and the hole in the metal that latches onto the frame isn't big enough for many doors locks to go into. This means if anyone forces the door open the only lock is this lock and not the added security of the lock built into the door. So some hotels I've stayed at I couldn't use this. Would like to see an update to its design for a larger hole so the doors original locks can fit through it.

so far so good, i bought a few other hotel locks and this is the only one that works so far. going to try another more expensive one to make sure I have the best product on the market, but this is pretty great. Will try and kick the door in at my shack but in hotels this works good. will buy as gifts if the more expensive fails me like the rest of the garbage on amazon. this was a nice find.

I think this unit needs a little improvement. The mechanism can slide back to the point where someone could open the door easily. I put a lock on the unit so the main component can't move so far and this makes it much more effective.

Bolt Size too Big for the latch

The hole is too small for the bolt to go through. Only came in one size. Should specify the bolt size required in the description. Paid for shipping and now another shipping for return. Cost of shipping you can purchase other brands.

It does keep the door shut and the material used to construct the product is very solid. However, it's a rather flimsy lock and won't hold up if there's a moderate amount of pressure applied to open the door.
