This product works great to help hold her glasses in place without raising ...

I got this for my wife. She has naturally oily skin and wears plastic framed glasses so has problems with them constantly slipping down her face. This product works great to help hold her glasses in place without raising the center of vision as with pads. The wax will wear off naturally, sho she applies the nerd wax every day or two. But don't worry, the wax won't wipe off and stick to your face, it just seems to sort of disappear.

Wish it had worked for me.

I was only able to give this a try for two days. Initially I thought "man this is great". But, it went downhill from there. You really do have to use a good amount of wax to keep your shades in place, and unfortunately my application tended to glob up around the sides so you could see it. (A very unattractive look.) I also found myself needing to reapply several times within the span of an hour. I do live in New Mexico and would normally say it might be due to the heat, but its been cold lately. Unfortunately, after my second day of use, I discovered that my skin does not like this product at all. I'm not allergic to any of the items in this product, so I'm not sure, but the areas where it was applied are inflamed and itchy. So I'd say purchase this with caution. Sadly I had an unfortunate experience, you might not.

Not non-hypoallergenic. It caused a rash every time I used it.

I don't have sensitive skin yet, every time I used this, I got a rash where my glasses touched my face. I thought it was just coincidence but I stopped using it for 2 months. When I tried using it again, after the problem had completely cleared, the rash came back. There's no doubt in my mind that it's from this "wax".

Causes skin rash

This product worked fine, as stated, Nerdwax kept my glasses from slipping but only after a day my nose broke out in a slight rash. I used it again the second day and it got worse! My skin is irritated and super itchy.

It works! But it's no miracle product...

As a glasses wearer since age 9 (now close to middle age) I was hoping this would be the answer to all my glasses sliding needs. Alas it is not. Yes, it is sticky and helps your glasses not slip; it is easy to use; it doesn't smell (except the natural smell); it's made of great ingredients. BUT it doesn't last all day, which is nice because my glasses & face end up clean (mostly-see next item) but my glasses start slipping in a few hours. And at least for me the wax mixes with my makeup and migrates to the sides (see picture-this is 12 hours after applying and after a wipe off about 6 hours ago). This leaves a sticky glob on the inside of my glasses that looks a bit like, well, buggers.

So...1) Does it work-kind of. 2) Will I keep using it-yes (I've been using it for over a month). 3) Would I recommend it and buy it again-maybe.

Allergic reaction!
by JNReviews (1 out of 5 stars)

I bought this product for my wife because her biggest complaint when doing any outdoor activity is her sunglasses slipping down her nose - this seemed perfect. She excitedly slathered it on both pairs of her glasses. Unfortunately withing 2-3 days, she started noticing some pretty significant blistering on both sides of her nose. It appears she had an allergist reaction to NerdWax. It's now 2 weeks later and her skin is finally almost fully healed. I wouldn't recommend this product if you have sensitive skin or have gotten allergic to lotions in the past. There were no warnings on this product and from what we could tell, they advertise it as all natural "cosmetic grade" however that doesn't mean it can't contain ingredients that cause allergic reactions. Be careful!

Less than optimal

Not great. It does what it says it will do, but it's messy to apply and wears off way to fast. Used it just watching a sporting event in the hot sun (not playing) and in less than an hour my glasses were once again slipping down my nose. To make things worse, when trying to clean the lenses it's much too easy to pick up stray pits of the wax and get it all over your lenses.

A $2 pack of silicone pads works way better. Oh and you don't have people asking what the heck your rubbing on your glasses.

I really wanted this to be great, but....it fell short
by Margaret (2 out of 5 stars)

I really wanted this to be great. I've had problems with falling glasses for months and thought this would be the solution. It works for about 15 minutes and then the glasses are back to sliding down my nose. I do have somewhat oily/combination skin so I don't know if that's contributing to it or not? I apply it liberally as per the instructions, but it doesn't work for long.

Also, because you have to apply it liberally, be prepared for it to somehow end up on the lenses. It's like syrup at a pancake house...somehow you always end up with it on the back of your arm even if you didn't eat pancakes. Good luck getting it off without washing your glasses in the sink, it just smears around.

Additionally because it's the same size as a chapstick, it doesn't really fit very well between my nose piece, they should make it narrower for people with smaller framed glasses.

If you follow instructions, it works perfectly!

MUST DO TIP: There are a lot of complaints about the wax not sticking or going on. You MUST remove all traces of oil from the glasses first. The best way to do this is to use the pre-moistened glasses wipes that you can get from pretty much anywhere. If you don't have those, use water and a dry paper towel. If there is even a small trace of oil, the wax won't go on. This is common sense, but for some reason there are still lots of negative reviews about it not sticking.

Once the glasses are prepped and cleaned, the wax goes on perfectly, with little effort. I find that it works very well too. My only complaint would be that it doesn't last all day for me, because I have pretty oily skin. I do have to re-apply after a few hours, but it's still way better than constantly pushing my glasses up all day long! It's more comfortable than the behind the ear hooks you can get to keep your glasses up too.

Sad face

I really wanted to love this product but unfortunately I don't.

Pros:
*Comes in a chapstick like tube so convenient to carry, just be sure to not grab it blindly and paste your lips with it.
*Easy to apply as long as the tube is not cold, body heat us enough warmth.
*Creates a subtle wackiness that keeps your glasses from sliding down your face.

Cons:
*If you consider yourself to have oily skin this product will only work for an hour or two, then you need to wipe it off and reapply.
*Use caution when wiping your lenses because if you accidentally catch the hardware on your cloth you will smear your lenses and your cloth is now useless until you wash it.
*If you have oily skin the oil builds between your skin and the nerdwax and you glasses slide just like they always did.

All in all, if your skin type is normal this product may work for you, but my oily skinned peers can just forget about it.
