Piece of junk. I wanted to want this to work so I ignored negative reviews in hopes it would work with a small child in the house.

Fingerprint scanner is iffy at best, it eats 9v batteries like candy, the door lock is rough and you have to slam it shut, it was easier to take the MCAT than to program the scanner.

My biggest fear is if I need it in a panic, it won't open due to finicky scanner or having to replace the 9v battery

It acts up when I open it for my monthly pistol match, and this is in daytime and taking 4 minutes to do so. I don't want to find out what happens in the dark

This is a great safe. A little more spendy that some others, but it uses your finger prints - takes up to 15 I think, so you can use finger, thumb on both hands, and your family can also add theirs.

Quick access in an emergency. No code to remember, no key to fumble with.

Speaking of keys...one word of advice: get a 10 year smoke alarm battery. Our regular 9v battery died after about a year, and we DID need the key to open the safe. We noticed it just doing a routine check. That would Not have been a cool thing to "discover" when if we needed quick access in an emergency - which is kinda the whole point of the safe!

Would have given five stars, however.....there was a "rattling noise" when first removing the safe from the shipping box. This turned out to be a loose rivet. Unable to find any place where a rivet was missing. Surmised it was dropped during manufacture [but not retrieved]. Also, a "programming pin" was supposed to have been included, but was not. While registering the safe on-line with Liberty, I mentioned the missing programming pin and selected an option requesting a Liberty representative contact me or simply send the programming pin to me. Weeks have passed and no one has contacted me nor sent a programming pin. Needed the safe to be operational right away. Improvised by straightening a paperclip and used it to depress the biometric scanner activation button. A common nail or other thin, rigid instrument would also accomplish this task. In summary, less than stellar quality control during the manufacturing process and inadequate customer service after the sale. To be fair, the biometric scanner works great and the safe is doing its intended job.

Biometrics is totally unreliable

Safe is well built but found that, even with the always on power option included, it had trouble remembering memorized scans.

Then it seems after time, it rarely remembers scans. Sorry, but if you are in a situation where you NEED to get it opened, this is not a reliable product.

I have many Liberty products and think they are great but their biometrics are not. I went and purchased the Liberty 4 button programmable version and it is fast and reliable.

Read the directions and the other reviews. Doesn't need the wakeup touch if using the electric adapter. Fits two handguns. Hubby fit a full size 1911 and a 9mm Sig Sauer P938 easily. Although you can surf the internet and learn that the round locks can be broken into easily, in our case, we just need something to keep grandkids safe while we are in the shower. Or to slow down a "smash & grab" when it is used in car or hotel.

One of the few quick access safes that can hold a Glock with the extended 33 round magazine. Beeps pretty loud when it opens, which may be a turn off for some. Very sturdy. Easy to program.

If I could give this zero stars I would. This product is junk. It never unlocks on the first try. Takes many tries so if I actually needed my gun, I'd probably be dead before I could get to it.

highly recommend , I have had for 4 months and open 4 times per week , open everytime (same 9volt !) I feel much safer keeping my gun in there with 2 small kids

Easy setup but really hard to close. You literally have to slam it shut. I recommend getting a cheap ac power cord bc the wake up" from just batteries could be the difference...

I wish the finger print scanner was a little more accurate. Take a few times to get it right every once in a while.
