I have been wanting to purchase this for over a year, but my now ex-wife kept saying no. Having seen this in person today, had I known how awesome it looked up close, I would have divorced her a lot sooner! Love this knife block!! Definitely solid quality and looks amazing.

Knives don't fit!!

Really well made piece, stain-able, way more entertaining to look at than a traditional knife block, but... THE KNIVES DON'T FIT! I want to give this more stars, but it doesn't function as promised. I think the maker should either redesign this to fit the knives it claims, or just sell it with the knives that it shows in the picture. Cool to look at, but really disappointed it doesn't fit my knives. Thinking about returning due to this.

The knife block itself was a hit, however it didn't fit the knives well. Some would only make it a third of the way in, which was somewhat dangerous. They could fall out and also left most of the blade exposed. Some of the slots were more for steak knives. I bought knives thinking they would in the block since they were recommended, but they didn't. I tried different brands that I have and the same luck. The person I gave it to is going to enlarge some of the holes.

I love it! Not only does it look awesome, it is beautifully functional. It holds my knives very well. The magnet in the Spartan's helmet that holds the sharpening steel in place is genius. Delightful company to work with, very personal and friendly. Love to support small businesses, especially with such great products. Highly recommend. Will definitely buy from this crew again!

Very fun product and the perfect gift. I wish the seller would be able to provide "spacers" or some way to adjust one or two of the holes. We tried several different knife set and couldn't find one that had the sizes of knives shown with the block. It is nicely made.

As an executive chef, I gave this product 1 star. I bought it because it looked as a cool idea first and it was a mistake. It is extremely dangerous to have your sharp knifes lined up in this so called knife holder. None of my knives fit into any of the holes properly. So when you try to take out a knife the other one might fall into your hand and cut you. The holes are not cut properly to fit all my knives. I can only fit 5 of them. It is an awkwardly huge pieces of knife holder that doesn't fit anywhere on the counter. Overall quality is poor as it is beech wood. So dont put wet knife in the there. The shield part that holds the knives is already wobbly and will probably fall of sometime soon.

It's an entertaining idea but not safe for knife storage. So it goes with 2 stars.

This is the cutest and most whimsical knife block. It's is really well made and has a good magnet in the helmet area to hold the knife sharpener. The magnet is strong enough to hold the knife sharpener without fear of it falling off, but not too strong so pulling it off is not a problem. I bought this for my daughter who is studying to be a professional chef and she loves it!

Really cool piece. See comments on special edition re: adjusting knife slots, part of getting a separate knife block is that knives may not fit exactly. Great construction and customer service. Might have opted for special edition as Baltic Birch a little plain. Will probably stain it a bit more in the shield and helmet.

The Spartan is totally lovely! I really like the way it looks and the magnetic on the helmet is "The Gem"! We just might paint in a darker color to match with the kitchen but we'll see. Since the Spartan got here we only heard compliments from our friends. Great job, Missing Digit

Bought this item for a stepson that has every gadget. It has a few kitchen knives and was keeping them a drawer. It loved the Spartan Block.
