Originally designed to assist downed pilots in creating potentially life-saving fire in inhospitable environments. It is completely hydrophobic, which means it will not absorb water. The combustive materials in berfire are specially formulated to assist in starting fires with whatever tinder is available, even wet tinder, and the more you fan berfire, the hotter it gets. The oz. can will burn for approximately 20-30 minutes, depending on the conditions. There is cotton pad saturated with petroleum jelly included in the tin as well. berfire is designed to start from one spark. It will not evaporate even after partial use and can be lit multiple times. Instructions included. Bulk packed.

I should have read description much closer because this device is only good for 1 use and it's not exactly inexpensive considering other products out there give you multiple firestarters for same price. To be fair, I haven't tried it bc it's only 1 use but in emergency situation, if it works as described, would be worth it. I will likely wait for next rain storm and see how it works. Will provide more feedback at that time. My suggestion is they should send 2-3 so the user can learn how it works before emergency happens. The instructions are a little over the top but repeat it takes practice to use. Can only practice once before buying more.
