My mother in law and myself have try to invent these for years but coud not get it right. These people got it perfect. The upside down life jacket, the noodles and the horse thing are all crappy. This is perfect. The are comfortable and you can float for 6 hours straight with no problem. You could not have a better footing to body out of the water ratio. You can float straight up but also since the back is large enough you can lay back with your feet up too. Everyone in the river was asking me how I was floating so freely and easily. I will be buying lots of these. These are great for drinking, floating with friends and bullcrapping, for the river, for the lake, for the beach, for the pool, for stubbing you boat down, for everything that involves water.

My husband LOVED this device for when we go out on the boat - makes getting in the water way out deep way more convenient if you want to have a cold beverage in your hand. The plumber's design on the one we got him made for some great photo opps, as well.

I will say, my hubby is an average sized and built guy. We also got one for my father-in-law - who DOES fit the stated specs, BUT has all of his weight up front in his belly. He did not enjoy it quite as much, as he felt it was too unstable. Since it comes higher in the back and all of his weight is right out front, he always felt he was drifting forward with his face towards the water, and if he tried to adjust, sometimes he would over-compensate and end up flailing backwards for a moment.

As weird as it might seem, I might suggest next time to see if maybe he wants to try it on backwards? HIs belly might have a hard time fitting, BUT it would give him more buoancy up front where all his weight it focused.

Overall, great product, though, and I think for any average built person, it should be perfect. My hubby gives it two thumbs way up! :)

Fun but already flopping.

These are hilarious! I bought them for a river float and everyone had a good laugh. I am slightly over the weight limit for the small/medium but was able to float upright with no issues. You must lean back while floating or else it tips you forward and plants your face in the water. It does give you a terrible wedgie if not tightened very snugly. Several others took a turn using them and thought they worked well. One thing we noticed is that the filler moves around within the device. I can see the padding starting to bunch in the bottom already so I'm not convinced that they will last but a few uses.

Uncomfortable

Floaty pants do keep your head above water and work well in that area.

However, the strip between the legs is too narrow and results in a constant uncomfortable wedgie. I found that I was constantly pulling on either the front or the back to try and get comfortable. It also retains a lot of water. Much heavier than expected after taking it off and then you have to "drain" it. I wouldn't recommend floaty pants to others...wearing lifejackets upside down is more comfortable.

I know it's not a life jacket but my mother saw a video on FaceBook and she thought it would give her more confidence in the pool in case she slipped. Unfortunately, the Floaty Pants just made her bottom float up and she isn't strong enough to keep herself upright so she kept falling onto her back. We were in water where she could stand so it wasn't a big deal but she was hoping to lift her legs and sit and float, like she saw on Face Book. It didn't work at all for her.

We had trouble ordering and receiving the correct item (twice). After contacting the company, we never heard back. There are other brands that are a better quality product. This one didn't really conform to your body shape.

This is one of the best flotation items I've ever purchased. You can float upright, on your back or on your belly (if you add an extra noodle under your chin). I also "workout" in the pool while I'm wearing it...leg kicks and stuff like that. I bring it to all pool parties too! Might look a little silly outside of the pool but I don't care because it's amazing!!!!

Perfect party pants

These are awesome - I am 6'3" basically 300# and they fit nicely and I float great. This is totally better then using a life jacket as pants yes it can ride up on you but it's much more support and comfortable vs life jacket mess.

I floated for 4 hours with no issues or pain or discomfort - perfect for drinking and partying in the water - I wore them on the lake with decent waves.

They seem as well built as a standard $40 life jacket nothing amazing there. You look like a idiot out of water but that's not the point - party in your pants- in the water not on land.

I purchased more for the boat after this trial.

Super uncomfortable

Bought these for the guys to wear on the lake. They all hate them. Very uncomfortable between the legs. There is no float support in crutch area so all your weight settles here and you squish. Buy the thick saddle floaties instead- everyone fights over those.

I bought these for my mom for mother's day. She has had the chance to use them a few times and every time the back flotation inner part balls up at the top of her back. While effective for floating this makes it uncomfortable for the lower back/tooshie. I wish there was a way to rectify this. Nonetheless, she's certainly the coolest person in the pool!
