Product Description

StinkBOSS gives families the best way to get the stink out of their lives! Easy to use and highly effective, it eliminates the odor from athletic shoes, work shoes and all kinds of sports gear. Just place your smelly items inside the StinkBOSS, close the lid, select your settings and walk away. And StinkBOSS will not shrink or damage delicate materials or leather like other harsh disinfectants.

StinkBOSS is superior to other deodorizing methods because within its enclosed design, it generates mild heat (70 to 75 degrees F.) and circulates ozone, nature's most powerful disinfectant. Commonly used in hospitals and research facilities to help create sterile environments, StinkBOSS brings this ozone technology into your home.

StinkBOSS uses no additives and needs no replacement parts, so there's no waste or recurring costs for use. It offers variable cycle times for a little stink, or a lot! From 30 minutes to up to 6 hours. Ready to use out of the box, StinkBOSS comes with a quick start guide and safety tips to make it easy to operate. And, it's easy to clean. Just wipe with a damp cloth. One-year limited warranty.

Instructions for Use:
StinkBOSS comes with a quick start guide and safety tips to make it easy to use.
Plug StinkBOSS into an electrical outlet and turn on the power switch located on the back of the machine.

Buyer Beware Fan Failure
by Philippe D. (1 out of 5 stars)
May 6, 2016

First off great product, horrible engineers, one week after purchasing this I had to take it out of commission. The bearings in the fans blew out making it sound like a chainsaw. I threw out the box and did not want to go through the hassle of purchasing a box just to ship it back. I opened it up and found that they used the cheapest fans you can purchase. They are called sleeve bearings, and if you have never worked with computer cooling or fans you may not know what the purpose of a sleeve bearing fan is for so let me explain (from Wikipedia):
"Sleeve bearings are less durable at higher temperatures as the contact surfaces wear and the lubricant dries up, eventually leading to failure; however, lifetime is similar at relatively low ambient temperatures. Sleeve bearings may be more likely to fail at higher temperatures, and may perform poorly when mounted in any orientation other than vertical."

If this uses a heater to dry out shoes why would you put something that is susceptible to damage at high heat? Not only that they are mounted horizontally not vertically which drastically reduces the life of these fans. The better option in this case would have been a SSO bearing:
"Thanks to an optimized principle of operation, the self-stabilizing oil-pressure bearing (SSO bearing) surpasses current types of ball, sleeve or liquid bearings in terms of long-term stability and quietness."

However, a ball bearing fan would have sufficed:
"Though generally more expensive, ball bearing fans do not suffer the same orientation limitations as sleeve bearing fans, are more durable at higher temperatures, and are quieter than sleeve-bearing fans at higher rotation speeds. The typical lifespan of a ball bearing fan may be over 60,000 hours at 50 °C"

Overall a great product but seriously why would you skimp out on the only moving part in your product. I was able to purchase a ball bearing fan to replace the defective (not really defective but incorrect use of the type of fan). It did take a little re-wiring in order to make it work with the end cap they used, and also for wire length. If you purchase this just know you will be returning it quickly or replacing the fans as I did.

Poor service

This worked really well for about 6 months, when it stopped deodorizing my shoes. I've sent 3 messages to the manufacturer through their website and recieved no reply. A 1 year warranty isn't any good if you can't reach the manufacturer.

Doesn't work properly, flimsy and poorly constructed.
by Sparky (1 out of 5 stars)

Just getting the thing started is a royal pain. The fact that it doesn't actually de-stink is secondary. You're supposed to be able to press a "no heat" button for items that are smelly but dry. Sounds simple, right? But it always, every single time, takes at least 6 or 7 attempts to get the thing to start without the heat function engaging. It seems to require some magical order of plugging in, turning on, and button pressing. Then, when you get it to work without the heat, it reverts to the "1 hour" option every time. There's no way to add more time without the heat.

Way too complicated and touchy for such a flimsy, non-functional item. The lid is so poorly constructed, you don't have to press the black button to disengage the "lock." You can just (intentionally or not) pop it open. The cord is too short to place it anywhere convenient (we have to use the outdoor outlet in the carport as it's too noisy and smelly to use indoors). Oh, and it doesn't work. But that's the least of it.

Really want to return this thing. I've kept it a few months, trying to give it a chance and not hate it. But I hate it. And it was expensive. I want my money back. I'll just buy my kids new, non-smelly shoes and be done.

Rapidly destroys shoe rubber (sole)
by Mike (1 out of 5 stars)

Manual instructs to "use nightly." In fact, using an ozone generator on shoes with rubber components leads to "ozone cracking" [...] which has ruined 3 pairs of rubber-soled shoes!

Worked pretty well for about a year then Ozonator died. It seemed kind of poorly constructed from the beginning.

I would pass.

Great Idea with Horrible Execution!

If you can think of a bigger turn off for consumers than buying a product and have a big box with "Stink Boss" written in big letters delivered to your doorstep or apartment building lobby, please let me know. Receiving a package with a name like this from your doorman is nothing shorter than public humiliation. What were these people thinking? Having the "De-Stink" light flashing the warning symbol for Radiation just adds up to the humiliation package. If you want to sell units, name it differently. Bulky as heck, btw. Instead of spending money on a gigantic, self-adhesive colorful quick start guide that nobody will ever stick to a wall, make the machine shutoff when the lid is open. Make sense, huh? By the way, it really works. I mean... really works. Even old stinky shoes smell really clean.

Seems that it works pretty well.

I have some Dansko shoes that I wear in the operating room all day, often for 12+ hour days, or on overnight calls, so I am in them a long time. They don't breath, so they started to stink. After about a year they were unwearable. I used the stink boss on them, and it completely took it away. Now i throw my shoes on there once or twice a week for an hour and a half or so, and they no longer stink at all.

While it's off label, I throw work out clothes in there too. Seems that it works pretty well.

This Machine is INCREDIBLE!
by Debbie (5 out of 5 stars)
December 11, 2017

I don't usually write reviews but this time I had too! This machine is incredible. I'm not kidding. I know it seems a little pricey for what it is BUT.... If you have struggled with the embarrassment of stinky shoes for a long time and tried EVERYTHING else and nothing works you will invest in this. I tried it the first time a few days ago. It is very simple and it takes about 3 hours if shoes are dry. Its light weight and holds 1 pair at a time.At the end of the cycle, when you open and sniff you will be amazed. I'm not sure how long the new smell will last but its easy enough to just put them every night if necessary. It makes zero noise, and emits a bit of a strange odor, but when your shoes come out germ & stink free you won't complain. This is a great purchase and use of my money. Something that actually WORKS!

I am a grocery clerk and I wear knee pads all the time. Always at the end of my day, there is an oder when I take off my shoes and knee pads. Since I started using the "Stink Boss" there is absolutely no oder with my shoes or knee pads or my feet and knees. This thing is great. Thanks. Greg
