Handy knife!!!

Pretty impressive technology! I leave butter on the counter, but it often stays hard and is a pain to spread on toast. This knife allows you to shave off butter and spread it easily on toast. It dose not take long to heat up from the warmth of your hand. My daughter recently had an ice cream cake for her birthday and the knife made it super easy to cut nice even pieces. I think its a handy kitchen tool and my kids love the science behind it!!!

Hesitant but satisfied

At first I was hesitant to buy one of these based on some of the Amazon reviews but a friend of mine bought one and loved it so I gave it a try. I'm not sure what all the negative reviews are but it worked perfect for me. Using the side with the groves I scraped along the top and it allowed me to spread my hard butter on my toast without tearing to pieces. I was disappointed when I tried to slice through the butter and cut off a hunk but other that that it works just fine.

I did find one other use for this. Anyone have a problem splitting rock hard frozen per cut bagels. Try the Spread it works like a dream.

I was excited for this product and really hoped that it would work as advertised.

Unfortunately that was not my experience.

While the tool does seem to assist in warming cold butter enough to spread it slightly more easily- the difference is not noticeable enough to make this spreader worthwhile.

More importantly-this tool is so UN-ergonomic that it is uncomfortable and un-fun to use.

It also gets dull and stained after just a few hand washes (I have not put this in the dishwasher!)and thus far I have only used this spreader with real butter. Nothing else.

Overall-I am not impressed after several months of use.

I would not recommend this product to others.

Have not seen any benefit. Could just scrape it with a serrated knife for same effect. Heated? Uh, not even when I hold it for several minutes. And that's not very time efficient. 😄

This item really doesn't work. You can hold it in your hand for an hour and it still won't be warm enough to easily get through cold butter.
