Easily fits in airline overhead compartments (carry it on without worry)

Incredible bag!

I have a 42L suit that I packaged into this bag (picture attached) and have room to spare for everything else I need for a business trip/interview. My suit fits with about two inches to spare at the bottom. There are two padded "bars" at the bottom of the bag that are adjustable (buckle down to hold your suit in place + form the bottom two long edges of the duffel bag). The construction is very durable. It holds two suits without wrinkles. It has plenty of room for everything else you might need on two day's business travel. It also easily fits in airline overhead compartments (carry it on without worry) - I've flown SW, Delta, and United and it fits in the overhead compartments. The big side pockets are convenient for things like keys and cell phone chargers.

This is now my go to bag for travel.

Great bag, more space than expected.
by Dale Russell (5 out of 5 stars)

Bought this bag specifically for a week trip requiring uniforms for the week. It performed flawlessly, fit in overhead bins on American Airline regional jets A319-A321 with ease end out taking little overhead compartment space. I was able to carry all my clothing and other required items using this as my only luggage. I was concerned when I ordered it that I wouldn't have enough interior space once I packed my uniforms. However, there still remained a nice duffel bag size interior space once the sides were zipped up. The fabric feels like a durable mil-spec material and I had no issues with the zippers. My only concern might be the durability of the shoulder strap hooks and loops. The hooks are plastic and I've had terrible experience in the past with plastic hook and loops failing as I pack dense and heavy. Only time will tell. Attached are pictures of it loaded in the overhead compartment on the jet, and all the items I carried in the bag. In the hangar section I carried 2 button up shirts, 2 slacks, and a jacket. In the duffel I packed a pair of shoes, khakis, casual button up, 2 polo shirts, 5 undershirts, 5 boxers, 5 dress socks, 3 sports socks, a jacket, insulated bottle, all toiletries, gym shorts and shirt, portfolio folder, tablet, and random assortment of personal affects. I did find that wire hangers do better than the large hard hangers that most suit coats are kept on. If I had any recommendations for this bag it would be to put 2 wheels on one end and upgrade the loops and hooks with metal for the shoulder strap. Second would be to better secure the outer pockets. The 2 outer pocket flaps are secured with merely a small bit of velcro. When I pulled the bag out of the overhead it rotated enough that a couple items fell out of the pockets. I thought I had gathered everything but I ended up losing a very rare and special military challenge coin. Use the outer pockets with caution!

Great concept, poorly executed.

Great concept, poorly executed. Loved the idea, loved the space it provided but after one trip I was over it. This bag allows you to pack a TON of stuff. The garment portion is a decent idea but having 1 hook means that the bag just folds in on itself when you hang it - which is kind of annoying. The zippers fall down, there's a little plastic clip to help secure them but I ended up using a key-ring which worked pretty well. I had very high hopes for the bag and it worked out great on the first morning but when I had to carry the bag around the airport it quickly became uncomfortable.

Product improvements are needed - they should add a ridged liner in the garment area to help protect clothes better, mine came out more wrinkled than I was hoping. Improve zippers - add clip on zippers? Remove/replace strap and replace plastic with metal hardware - the strap digs into your shoulder pretty bad - either add a bottom frame & wheels - if you're keep the strap it should be changed to something quieter - the plastic on plastic is very loud.

this was easily remedied by a cheap pair of travel locks

This bag is unstoppable. I took it on the interview trail, which lasted almost 3 months (with trips back home, but I would leave for a week or two at a time).

Pros:
-Awesome build quality, no signs of wear after heavy use
-Keeps suits wrinkle free
-With 1 suit packed, the interior was roomy enough for plenty of changes of clothes, shoes, and a garment steamer
-Big external pockets can hold the TSA approved clear liquid bags. Very roomy, and velcro, so I could just pull my clear bag of toiletries out at security with 0 hassle.
-Overhead bin compliant

Cons:
-Dress shirts, when packed in the suit compartment needed some steaming, but nothing major
-The bag is designed to pack a suit in first, and then the bag zips up around it. While this is the only real method to make it feasible, it has two drawbacks. The first is that when you want to pack and remove your suit, you have to remove some contents of the bag. This is not a huge issue, as usually I'm traveling light to the interviews, but it is something to consider. I believe there are other much more expensive bags that allow suit removal without content removal. The second drawback is that if pulled from one end, the zippers were prone to unzip. However, this was easily remedied by a cheap pair of travel locks, bought for 7 dollars at the airport convenience store. The zippers have special holes on their main body that align, and are meant for locking together. By locking the end zippers together, the bag never came unzipped, even when I had to check it.
-Plastic hardware on the strap. The part where the strap connects to the bag is plastic. The plastic parts are of a high quality plastic, and I never had to replace them or had an issue with them breaking. However, if something will need to be replaced it will ultimately be these. Also, when walking the plastic on plastic makes a bit of squeaking. Nothing that's even close to a deal breaker given the utility of this bag.

Great bag, be careful on smaller flights
by hof (4 out of 5 stars)

This bag definitely keeps clothes safe. I carried my military dress uniform, all of it's accessories, including two days worth of other clothes and shoes, along with a few other items and I still had room. Using the bag is very easy and it is very sturdy. The bag is a little large, and the shoulder strap is awful. I had my uniform in the bag for almost 24 hours, on three flights, with two layovers and it did not need any adjustment when I pulled it out; it was ready to wear. You will need something to hold the side zippers closed, I bought a couple of the small TSA approved locks, they fit perfectly. This bag fits in the following overhead bins (on Delta Airlines): 737-900ER, 757-200, EMB-175, CRJ 700 (sideways), CRJ 200 (sideways). On the smaller CRJs they will try and get you to gate check your bag, due to the lack of rigid shape I would recommend against this. The bag will fit, but you have to turn it sideways.

Pro: holds a lot, solid construction, keeps clothes safe and wrinkle free

Cons: holds a lot (gets heavy on the shoulder strap), side zippers do no stay closed on their own, large size may limit ability to fit in overhead bin

Wrinkle free suits and plenty of storage
by Nikonator (4 out of 5 stars)

This is a great all in one bag for travel. Over all it is large and well constructed with an intuitive design. The drawbacks are minor and easy to overcome. Bottom line you get all the benefits of a garment bag, and the storage of a dufflebag.

PRO:
-Keeps suits wrinkle free as well as any garment bag I've tried
-Large padded bottom lets you efficiently pack a standard sized laptop or notepads
-Durable construction and heavy duty zippers
-Easy access side pockets (great for tickets, electronics, or other items you would want to have accessible during a flight)
-Padded shoulder strap actually works and stays in place (unlike most others that slide/flip/eventually get tossed out)
-COST!! This is as good construction and better function than bags that cost 3 times as much.

CON:
-Zipper lengths are imprecise on the sides leaving minute gaps when it is closed up (very minor but still an issue)
-Zipper clips do not facilitate tight closure (the clips that come with this bag only allow you to secure through the pull tab of the zipper and not through the lock loops on the body of the zipper)
-Using the bag while hanging can be a little awkward because the sides flap around.

Interesting idea with junk zippers
by T. Haas (2 out of 5 stars)

I am addicted to tactical bags (as my wife will tell you). I was really excited about this bag because my other garment bag has to be checked & this one is tacti-cool! When I got it I was initially impressed. As I began messing with it, less so and when I had to use it, not at all.

The dilemma is that whenever I pack for carry-on, I pack to the limit and compress down. This bag has no compression straps so when I put in my uniform, there wasn't much space in the duffel bag compartment. I was bummed, but tried anyways. When I went to zip it up, the main zipper split in two like it was made of soft lead. I stuff my bags, but I generally know the limits & no other bag I own has come apart like that. They need compression straps on the inside to compress the duffel contents & they need to upgrade to YKK zippers. I even own (to my embarrassment) several cheaply built tactical bag knock-offs without YKK zippers & they held up better as well. I am not sure if I will be buying anything from this company in the future unless they specifically mention the quality of zipper used. If you only need a suit and a couple of days of clothes, this would work, but I generally have to pack for a week for training & will be sticking with my Osprey bag & if I need my uniform will check the garment bag for now.

Just an awesome bag
by Danny (5 out of 5 stars)

This bag does it all. I used ONLY this bag for an 8-day trip that included business attire/beach attire/casual attire while also holding my laptop, food, shoes, souvenirs, and toiletries. The bag is really easy to use, and perhaps the best feature is how my suits didn't get wrinkled despite sitting in the duffel bag configuration for days on end. I originally wanted Navy but this color was about $20 cheaper via Prime. You will likely get some coloring from your jeans rubbing against the bag as you walk, but since you're always carrying on that side it doesn't matter. I also like things with a little character. The bag never appeared to risk opening, and I felt everything was secure and maintained the position inside the bag.

Yes, there is a bit of a squeak (not as pronounced for me as others have stated), but it's really not a big deal in an airport. I suppose if you were trying to sneak into a room with someone already sleeping you may wake them. Follow advice of others on how to keep squeaking to a minimum and you'll be golden.

If you're looking to use ONE bag and you also use a garment bag at times, I highly recommend this product

Garment bag transforms into duffel bag! But is it a carry-on?
by Nate J.R. (5 out of 5 stars)

Yes, this garment bag will easily squeeze into most airplanes' overhead luggage racks, IF you leave the pockets empty and don't pack the bag to capacity. I just went on a three day trip (with a suit, a blazer, three pair of pants, shirts, shoes, etc.) and had no problem fitting it into an overhead rack. On the other hand, if you're packing for a longer trip, or packing, say, combat boots, running shoes, a military uniform or two, and civilian clothes, you'll find that it's packed to capacity. In that case, it becomes rigid and is therefore too long; you'll need to check it.

Pros: Durable, well constructed, unique design; carry-on capable if not stuffed; clothes generally do not get very wrinkled.

Cons: Small things will fall out of Velcro outer pockets; you must buy zipper clips (see below); it doesn't roll.

Recommended accessories: Nite Ize SBP0-2PK-27 S-Biner Plastic Size-0 Double Gated Carabiner, Slate, 2-Pack (to hold the duffel bag's wall zippers together); steel hangers (e.g., Stajlig).

Great bag, with limitations.
by Marc (4 out of 5 stars)
July 14, 2016

I've used this bag on three separate week-long business trips. Here's what I've found.

Pros:
1. Well made, durable, high quality zippers.
2. Holds a ridiculous amount of stuff.
3. The soft sided nature has allowed it to fit in ANY overhead, including the little tiny ones on the smaller regional jets.
4. Gate agents don't even look at it twice when they're passing out gate-check tags to the wheeled-bag bunch.
5. The roll-up garment section works great for keeping my dress shirts and slacks ready to go. A small touch up is all that's been required.

Cons:
1. No wheels. I know, I know, that's the design. Just be sure you're ready to lug a week worth of clothes all the way across ATL on your shoulder. I'm a reasonably big, reasonably strong guy, and it gets pretty uncomfortable after a while.
2. The shoulder strap that comes with it is utter garbage. We're talking torture device. I ended up using a padded and bungee-suspended shoulder strap from an old Scooba computer bag, which at least keeps my skin intact, though I'm still switching shoulders every so often.
3. The zippers that turn it from a garment bag to a duffel do not stay put. There appear to be clips to help accomplish this, but they're plastic and just don't seem sturdy. I suggest another solution. I used these: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00004Y8DQ/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1
4. If you do need to check it, you'll worry. It offers no protection from the machinations of baggage handlers and their equipment. I had visions of my stuff coming up the baggage claim belt in a black garbage bag the one time I was forced to check it due to unforeseen circumstances (which were in no way the fault of the bag). These fears were partially validated when it came up with one of the zippers I talked about in item 3 halfway open, with a jacket spilling out of the bag it as it came up the belt.

Overall, it's a great bag; well built and as advertised, but with some flaws that are probably inherent in the nature of the bag. For me, it's a matter of balancing the ability to carry it on the plane and not have to do a lot of ironing with the inability to wheel it behind me. In the end, you'll need to decide which is more important.
