Initially it worked great; recognized immediately by my Droid Maxx 2

Initially it worked great; recognized immediately by my Droid Maxx 2, fast transfer times, etc. However, as of last night (just short of a month of use), it started doing the infamous 'random unmount' bug. I was playing music and it started to fail reading files, then after a few minutes and a few reboots/rescans it got to the point where it consistently unmounted within 30 seconds of a restart and I haven't gotten it to work since. Apparently SanDisk and PNY SD cards are both notorious for this issue in Android devices, as per researching the issue on the Android forums.

Corrupted in under 2 weeks
by Diana M (1 out of 5 stars)

Well it worked when I got it 12 days ago, I put it into an Honor 6X and all was well, but yesterday the phone started saying no storage space, I'd look and it would recognize the SD card but say that it had no storage space. I'd take it out, put it back in and all was well... for a few minutes. Today I put it in an adapter and attached it to my computer and windows saw it for a few minutes, I ran the partion wizard mini tool and suspicion confirmed the card is completely corrupted... in under 2 weeks. That's just peachy.

128GB card tested at 88MB/s read, so it meets its claim
by Eric Holzhueter (4 out of 5 stars)
August 21, 2015

This card tested at 88MB/s read, so it meets its claim. The 4K speeds are fairly slow at 5MB/s and the sequential write is 15.8 MB/s which should suffice for most applications. This will work well for most people's needs.

Tests done on a Kingston FCR-HS3 USB 3.0 reader using CrystalDiskMark 3.0.3 x64.

Product ID on the package was SDSQUNC-128G-GN6MA

UPC was 619659133795

Melted in my laptop, shorted out my GoPro.
by J. Fincher (1 out of 5 stars)
September 1, 2016

My GoPro said "SD ERROR" and kept shutting down, so took the card out of my GoPro, and put it into SanDisk's adapter, and inserted it into my laptop to try to format it.

Suddenly curls of smoke rose from my laptop's SD card port and I smelled burning plastic, so I pulled the card out, and found this. It was super hot, and there's a possibility it might have caught fire if I'd left it in the laptop for longer.

The other three work fine in both the GoPro and the Laptop: they haven't melted yet, but now I'm concerned.

I've attached a picture of the melted card, because "pics or it didn't happen". Well, it happened, and there's the result.

Warranty not honored - product not valid for use in webcams

My sandisk sd card failed in 2 of 8 webcams that use occasional event recording (not continuous). Upon contacting sandisk for warranty replace/repair, they replied below, denying warranty. Did not see any such disclaimers in product description.

Will replace, and recommend, different manufacturer for next sd card.

Dear ,

Thank you for contacting SanDisk® Global Customer Care. I understand your concern. Please be informed SanDisk recommends using High Endurance Cards with Dash Cams/ Sec Camera etc. These cards are specially designed to withstand continues read and write performance. SanDisk Ultra/Standard micro SD card is not recommended to be used in a Continuous read/write environment and it also voids the warranty of the memory card. Please refer to the link below for more information about SanDisk High Endurance memory cards:

Horrible speed that hinders usability.
by Mudig (1 out of 5 stars)

I just can't recommend this to anyone. Yes it's cheap and I guess you get what you paid for? I don't know, however, I did NOT expect it to be this slow. I only use it on my phone so I didn't really think the speed would be an issue. I was wrong. Save photos and videos on it is a pain in the ass, it takes a good 5 seconds after every picture before I can take another one. Just today I was deleting a fairly large file(2.2 gig) from it and it literally took 10 minutes just to delete it...it even said so on the prompt. You also CANNOT format this thing as internal storage because an error will come up saying it's way too slow and does not meet the speed requirements. So yeah, I can't recommend this to anyone...even for people who don't care about speed and just plan to use this on their phones because the slow read/write speeds will actually affect you.

3 months then dead.
by Ralph Walti (1 out of 5 stars)

Used it for 3 months and it crapped out. I was using it in my Galaxy S7 and then the Galaxy said that it was corrupted. I tried formatting it in the Galaxy no good. Tried formatting it in my computer no good. 3 months, That's all it lasts. Not happy. Still trying to find out what to do about this.

When the replacement came it said nothing about returning the original item so after I received the replacement I threw out the original item. It was clearly broken and no use to me. Later they sent me an email that I had to return the original item. So I paid now for the broken original and the replacement. If they say replacement, that is what it should be. If they wanted the original item back then they should have said exchange. Extremely unhappy. Everyone should hold onto their broken original itmes for a month or two just in case. Deceptive way to get me to pay for the broken original item.

Great Storage Solution for Watching Movies on your Android Tablet
by Sarasota2k4 (5 out of 5 stars)
December 3, 2016

I've been using this SanDisk Ultra 64Gb Card in my Verizon 8" Ellipsis tablet for about 6 months and it has been extremely reliable for storing and allowing playback of a large amount of movies I've converted from DVD to MP4s for the kids to watch. Since the card comes with an SD Card adaptor, I can easily copy the videos using my Mac's SD slot and then insert the microSD card into the slot of the tablet. At 64GB, I have plenty of room for 50 or more videos. I haven't noticed any lag or buffering issues when playing the movies back using the VLC Video application on the tablet.

Like most Amazon shoppers, I count on honest, unbiased reviews. I hope you have found this review helpful in making your purchase decision.

What to look for in a counterfeit SD card
by Siouxzi99 (1 out of 5 stars)
January 20, 2018

Totally fake card. Couldn't get Amazon to believe me. Tried sending them back, but only received more of same as replacements. Very unhappy with. You've got to be so careful about counterfeit cards out there all the time. My advice if you're going to buy any SD card would be, read absolutely every word on packaging for any discrepancies or spelling errors (fakes have them), check the date of card (should be current year, not a past one). Look at the color shades of pictures on package and the card itself to see if too light or too dark or wrong color completely. And always compare to another SD card and its packaging, see if they match and if not, to see what the differences are and/or the errors that are there. You will spot them, believe me.
