"Oh, it's not a perpetual motion machine ... 1 star!" Come on people, it's a child's top. This is a cute little top and its spin duration will depend on the surface. I can easily get 1:45 minutes and sometimes 2:00. (I'm running on my kitchen granite counter top). People state it's fragile
... probably. It's probably cast pewter and then just polished up. The only negative thing I have to say is the shaft is a bit small for my chunky fingers.

You can spend a lot more money on a titanium one, but in the end ... it's still just a top. :-)

Such a shame! What would otherwise be a five star review is a one-star because I received an item that was obviously a return. The tin was very dirty with fingerprints all over it and scratched. The top and the dice inside we're both very dirty and very scratched up. The finish on the top was not smooth and consistent and had deep scratches around the outer ring that were obviously done by the machine that made it but obviously not supposed to be there. In various places on the underside and the top there were discolored spots that cannot be buffed out. Probably why it was returned. All I know, is if I order something from Amazon I expect it to be brand-spanking-new & in pristine condition . No exceptions! Unfortunately this was the last minute birthday present for my nephew and I don't even have time to get a replacement.

This is a well-machined top. It's really nicely made, and perfectly balanced as you would expect for something turned on a lathe. You also get a clear, 6-sided die. The tin it's all packed in is a bit thin, but perfectly functional. You really can't beat these for the money.

I bought this on a whim. I saw an ad for a $400 top that looks just like this. I was intrigued and came over to Amazon to see if I can find a Chinese knock off. I think the really expensive ones are engineered to spin for hours. This one spins for a couple minutes. Good enough for me. My 10yo pretty much stole it from me so I may have to buy another one :-). Note that it is very small. The diameter at the widest point is about the size of a quarter.

Came earlier than Amazon expected😃 Came in a nice tin with a red loaded die!!! Well balanced! Even has Inception engraved on the "Top" and spins ruffly 1 and 1/2 minutes, way better than I expected for the low cost!!! Would definitely buy this again😁

This top works pretty well. At $2.50 and no shipping, I was not sure how good it could be. I don't understand how anyone can make a profit off it. I assume these were made for the movie and never sold, so someone else bought them for pennies on the dollar. Outside of that, it seems unlikely you can ship these from China at that price and make money. The top spins very well. With a reasonably good twist it will spin for about 55-60 seconds before it starts to wobbles. Overall with the end wobbles, it spins for about 80 seconds. I saw at least one top out there for $45 and I would be curious how much better it could be. The shipping time was about 35 days as it came from China. The top was in good condition with no marks. On the bottom it has the words inception engraved it in. The case is a small aluminum (i guess) box and it comes with a dice for whatever reason. That is a basic plastic die that is found in any cheap game. I am not even sure why I wrote a review of this item, but I still find it funny that this can ship from China as a one item purchase for $2.50 and be as good or better than advertised. I also find it funny that tops are also selling for $50 on-line. Overall I would buy this again if I ever find I have a need for another top. However one top in my life is probably enough.

Cheap and hard to use.

The metal box it comes in is quite cool and nice and can be used for other things it also came with one little red dice which was a nice little add-on but the top itself is not really impressive I have purchased a lot of tops and this one is not nearly as good but for the price I guess it is okay product to give to the kids. The round bottom is just a little bit to round to spend efficiently in many places and it is much harder to get started then any other top that I own.

3 star as i was expecting a comparable quality with the real foreverspin, based on all the reviews. It can still spin for a minute or so. Surface quality and texture is so so, probably make from some die cast metal, which is quite different from a machined piece of solid material. Of course, it makes sense as 1/4 of the price of the foreverspin

As close to the movie as it gets. I laughed when I saw a previous review of someone noting while the tin canister in which it comes says "Your mind if the scene of the crime," they didn't know what it meant. Obviously they haven't seen the movie or the trailers leading to it in which that exact line was displayed. While the dye inside is not loaded or the right size, it's a nice bonus.
