This camera bag is by far one of the best items I ever purchased on Amazon

This camera bag is by far one of the best items I ever purchased on Amazon.com. It is well made and the perfect size for all my camera gear. Even with about 20 lbs of stuff you barely feel any weight because of the quality construction and nicely padded shoulder straps. I also really like the waist and chest straps. I like that I can strap a tripod on each side. When designing this bag, a lot of thought must have taken place because of the way every compartment/ storage areas are placed. I will be buying another next year for a friend of mine.

Not just for keeping your camera safe.

So far, so good. The quality on this pack is high and there is plenty of padding all around the main compartment to keep your camera gear safe. See the pictures below for my set up. I don't have a ton of camera gear yet so I was able to take out the dividers in the top half of the compartment and store my DSLR w/18-55 lens, 2 small lens, and a Nikon point and shoot in the bottom compartment. Now I am able to put clothes or other gadgets in the top half. I keep my MacBook Pro 13 inch and iPad mini in the laptop compartment with room to spare.

There is several pockets throughout the pack which really utilize all the available space. The pack will stand alone empty or full, which I find very helpful as it is just annoying when your pack keeps falling over at the airport or just out and about.

The comfort while wearing the pack was a pleasant surprise. I've done a LOT of rucking and backpacking throughout the years, and this pack felt amazing on my back. Weight was easily distributed on shoulders and lower back. The included rain cover will definitely come in handy and is easy to put on. The rain cover also has it's dedicated hidden pouch in the bottom of the pack.

Overall, this pack was exactly what I was looking for. I wanted a pack that I could safely store my camera, camera gear and my laptop with dedicated space while also having room to pack a few items, clothes and snacks.

Pros:
- Space
- Quality
- Price
- Camera pack, laptop pack, and day pack all in one

Cons:
- None as of writing review. I'll update if I find any.

Great if you travel or have multiple cameras
by Miranda R. McCall (5 out of 5 stars)

This is an excellent backpack! I noticed that some of the reviews with pictures are actually featuring a different Evecase pack and have cited durability issues, but the Extra Large DSLR pack is made quite well. I spent extensive time researching packs (and I have owned others over the years) and was prepared to pay much more to find what I needed. Even after finding several that sort-of fit the bill in the $250-$350 range, I kept coming back to this pack because of its design. Extra large is an appropriate description, but it was exactly what I needed.

I initially purchased the pack to use as my primary luggage for a trip to India, and I needed something large enough to fit my camera equipment (I was photographing a wedding there) and also fit a few of my carry-on items (clothes, etc.). I do quite a bit of travel and never check a bag, and this pack enables me to take the necessities and keep my equipment safe. I can easily fit my Canon DSLR with 55mm lens, two additional large lenses, a speedlite flash, and a tripod (attached to the outside of the pack) in one compartment with room for a few clothing items, toiletries, and my mac pro and cables. It is a bit of a squeeze under airline seats and fits better in the overhead bins for most flights, though it can fit under the seat if necessary. The bottom compartment pulls out and allows you to insert it into any bag to ensure your camera is protected. Since the pack is large, I like this feature because I take a small pack for day trips on locations while keeping my equipment secure.

If you aren't traveling, the ability to use both compartments is excellent if you need two cameras or lots of lenses and accessories. Since having a backup camera is a good idea if you're a professional, this pack lets you take everything you'll need. Everyone may not need a pack quite this large, but for me, this is an excellent choice, especially for the price.

Update . . . Quality and Customer Service = 1-Star
by Mr. Happy (1 out of 5 stars)

UPDATED REVIEW - Buyer Beware!

Looks like I should have waited to review this backpack! I gave it a 5-star the first week . . . but then the real bag showed itself!

I treat all my equipment with TLC, so when this bag started fo fall apart I was extremely disappointed! Bad news; rotten quality. Didn't hold up! The side strap (where I attached my tripod) broke a few months in. While traveling recently, the shoulder strap literally ripped in half . . . while I was wearing it! The bag fell to the ground at the airport! I will say that none of my equipment was broken, thank goodness!

When I returned from my trip, I wrote a letter to the company. Their form letter reply was unacceptable. In a nutshell . . . 'bummer . . . but it's no longer under warranty'. I was asking for a replacement or money/discount toward a replacement. No dice. I now have a backpack that's been very well cared for. I took good care of it, but it didn't take care of me; nor did the company. Very disappointing. I will be replacing with another backpack and will not be returning to this brand for this or any other products.

The photos show the poor quality. I expected better for nearly $100.

Some quality issues
by nom de plume (2 out of 5 stars)

THE GOOD

If you want pockets and storage options, I doubt you'll find anything better The separate bottom compartment, with a removable padded container, is a great idea. If you don't need the items in that section, you can easily remove the container and use the space for a jacket, food, or whatever.

THE BAD

After using the bag for the first time on a 2-week trip, the shoulder straps began to rip out of the backpack. A few other design features could be better.

Granted, my backpack was fully-loaded during this trip. Depending on my needs for the day, it carried 20-25 pounds of equipment. But when you consider a camera body, a couple heavier lenses with metal housings, a laptop, a tripod, and all the various batteries, chargers, accessories, etc.., 20-25# isn't an unusually heavy load for a backpack. The backpack has separate pockets/compartments specifically designed for these items, so the bag is designed to carry all of them. I ended up taking the backpack to a shoe repair shop, and they were able to repair and reinforce the shoulder strap connection point.

A FEW OTHER MINOR THINGS:
- The handle could be thicker and stronger. I added a wrap-around padded suitcase grip for comfort, but given the issues with my shoulder straps, I am concerned that the handle will soon rip out of the bag.- the stitching where the handle connects to the bag is not reinforced.
- There are a lot of straps, which is to be expected from a bag with some many features. However, some of the straps have an elastic loop to "tie down" the loose end of the strap, while other straps do not. I have no idea how they determined which straps would get loops and which straps would not. but I feel that all the straps should have these feature. The end result is that you have the ends of some straps dangling all over the place (I remedied the issue by purchasing wide strips pf black elastic and made my own tie-downs for the remaining straps)
- The waist strip is well-padded and comfortable. It contains a small, zippered pocket that isn't good for much since it is so flat; but you could slip a manual or some memory cards in there. So, props to them for making the most of the space. But if you are like me and don't use these straps, you have the cushions and long straps dangling all over the place, making it easy for the bag to get caught on something. My previous bag had a pocket on the back that made it possible to fold back the waist padding/straps and keep them tucked out of the way, which is a feature that I'd like to see on the bag. I plan to take the bag to the same shoe-repair shop and have them cut off the straps and re-stitch the contact point so that it won't fray or begin to rip apart.

FOR FREQUENT FLYERS

I fly a lot, and when the bag is fully-loaded, it won't fit under the seat or in the smaller overhead bins of regional jets. You'll be OK for larger cross-country and international flights. Just be forewarned. Finding out that you must empty your backpack of valuable optics and stuff them in your other carry-on luggage is not fun, especially when you're sitting in your seat.

A NOTE ABOUT LAPTOP SIZE

Evecase describes the backpack as being able to handle a 15.6" laptop. However, they are describing measurements in a manner that is different than the computer industry. I have what Dell describes as a 15" laptop, but it won't fit into the bag. Why? Because Dell is referirng to the diagonal screen measurement of the laptop, while Evecase is referring to the diagonal measurement of the laptop itself. My 15" laptop has an exterior measurement of 17.5", so of course, it doesn't fit. Evecase isn't being misleading - they are just using stating facts differently that standard computer nomenclature.

In summary, I had some quality issues, while my other issues were more about personal taste. If the issues I described aren't a big deal to you, then you'll find this to be a great bag for the money.

I am confident you will be glad you kept your baby bag for your next trip
by Richard H. Caldwell (5 out of 5 stars)

Just got this case and have not carried it yet. Read complaints about the zippers. I do not see a problem so far. I can see where you would need to be careful using them as the material folds in close and they could catch on it if you don't zip with a little caution. This is a large bag. It holds two full cameras, several extra lenses, and a ton of other stuff. If you load it up all the way and go out for an all day shoot and hump it through the woods, I am confident you will be glad you kept your baby bag for your next trip. I am an old ex Army Ranger and I quickly saw that I would not want to hump this bad boy around all day if it's full of gear. It seems to be padded well, is well organized, and seems sturdy enough. I will update this if I find problems later on. I am not a compensated reviewer. Just a normal customer.

DJI Mavic Pro owners that are also photo enthusiasts, this bag is for you!
by Sympathetic Vendor (5 out of 5 stars)
April 23, 2017

Having succumbed by the marketing for the DJI Mavic Pro, I now needed a new bag that would allow me to carry all my camera equipment as well as my newest drone conveniently everywhere I wanted to take it. It's difficult to shop for new bags on here because all they can provide all the pictures they want and list all the dimensions, but without actually seeing it in front of you it's difficult to imagine what it's really like and if your stuff will in fact fit. So, let me do my best to make this the only review you need to read and leave no doubt as to whether this pack is for you or not by listing everything I have fit in here rather than have you front money and start a return process after having wasted your time finding out the bag won't suit your needs.

My previous backpack was a Canon 200EG and I liked the bag very much. First, what I have packed in mine:
1 x Canon T2i Rebel with it's stock 18-55mm lens
1 x 70-300 zoom lens
2 x 58mm filters installed, one on each lens
2 x 58mm filters in their packaging
2 x spare batteries for Canon camera with a third installed in the camera
1 x External flash

Charger block with cords for Canon camera
1 x Canon A570 point and shoot camera
1 x Underwater housing for Canon A570 point and shoot camera
1 x Hand held digital video camera
1 x AA battery case holding 10 AA batteries for Canon A570 camera
1 x Charging cord and power brick for handheld digital video camera
1 x GoPro 3
1 x GoPro waterproof case
1 x Head band for GoPro 3
1 x Wrist band for GoPro 3
1 x Chest mount and straps for GoPro 3

Charging cords for GoPro 3
1 x Dual Port Ravpower 16750mAh Portable External Battery

Charging cord for external battery
2 x USB cords for external battery output

Half a dozen spare memory card holders with extra memory cards
1 x Retractable selfie stick
1 x Lens cleaning solution in a pump spray bottle
1 x Retractable camera cleaning brush

Half a dozen packages of lens cleaning cloths

Several charging cords and mini usb cords to connect cameras to computers or tv's
1 x Manual for Canon camera
1 x Manual for external flash
1 x iPad mini 4 with otterbox case
1 x Apple wall charger with three USB ports
1 x Mavic Pro drone inside hard case
1 x Mavic Pro controller with USB cord for iPad inside it's own hard case
1 Skyreat iPad holder adapter for Mavic Pro controller
3 x Mavic Pro batteries, one installed on drone and two stored in pack
1 x Charger with power brick and all needed cables for Mavic Pro
1 x Multiple battery charging hub for Mavic Pro
1 x Rain cover for backpack

That's everything that comes to mind and everything fit in there. I still have room for odds and ends. This still leaves the two mesh pockets on the side for water bottles while hiking. There's also enough straps on the outside to mount both my tripod and monopod should I decide I need to travel with them. I like that the bag has small hard feet on the bottom allowing the bag to stand up unassisted when not being worn. I do a fair amount of air travel both domestically and internationally and I believe the bag will adhere to the dimensions allowed for carry on but we'll put this to the test later this summer and I will amend my review with my results.

If I had to name any complaints about the bag one would be it needs more removable dividers. I had to use extras I had from my previous backpack to lay out the interior for my purposes. The second would be that the zippers on the bag jingle together so loudly that while walking/hiking it sounds as though I have a dog with a very noisy collar walking behind me.

Please refer to my pictures to see extras that aren't currently shown on the listing for the bag. I do not yet use either of the pockets on the hip pads. I stand 6'4" and I'm 240lbs so you can see how much space this bag takes up on my back relative to my size. There is a pocket on either side of the main compartment that allows you to store items alongside the outside edges of the back. There is a velcro pocket that runs the entire width of the bottom underside where I was able to stuff the rain cover the bag comes with and it still allows my bag to stand up straight. There is a large zippered compartment that separates the top compartment with the bottom one which is where I store my iPad 4 mini with otterbox case. Finally there is a compartment at the back of the bag for a laptop which opens on the side rather than the top. I do not yet use this compartment either.

Hopefully this review is in depth enough for you to make an informed decision before placing your order.

The best heavy duty photography bag I have used
by TheHobbyGuy (5 out of 5 stars)
June 8, 2016

I use this backpack for work everyday to carry all of my camera gear and other work-related equipment. It has performed extremely well. It is easily one of my best investments this year. I have around 55-65lbs of equipment that I haul around everyday and this backpack has not budged at all when it comes to carrying the weight and carrying it in a way that prevents damaging my equipment. I have been using it for a solid 5 months now and it has no signs of wear at all.

This bags camera slot carries a D810 with a 70-200mm NIKOR lens attached to it. You cannot really fit anything much longer than that, which is understandable considering how long that setup is.

This bag includes a rain cover for the bag which is essential if you are going to be in rainy conditions.

The only negative I can see in this bag is the side straps are secured inside of thin plastic. Any real weight here would rip that plastic apart. I have been able to avoid breaking it, but if I put a real tripod there it would break I believe.

Pros:
*Carries 60+lbs of gear comfortably
*Water proof covering that can be put over the bag
*Not only carries the gear but it does it in a way that prevents damage

Cons:
*The side straps that hold a tripod are not durable (-1/2 star)

Additional Considerations:

You may want a separate tripod bag if you have a larger and heavier tripod. My tripod I have in the bag is small and light so it has not broken the side straps yet.

Overall: 4.5/5 stars (>=.5 rounds up, <.5 rounds down) => 5 stars

NYLON PACK. Carries 75lbs of gear daily!
by Tim B (5 out of 5 stars)
December 23, 2015

I have been holding off on writing a review till I had this pack a while........... It's been 6 months now.

This bag not only works, it works well.

It goes everywhere with me, back and forth everyday. I work as an EMT and carry my Camera gear so I can do Street Photography in my down time. I also do location shoots with models a few times a month. I hang my cameras of the shoulder straps and go all day with it on. Yeah, its a very comfortable bag and once you read what I carry. Holy Cow!

However, it is BIG! Here is why, I carry about 75 lbs of gear as follows....
*Nikon D3100 with extended battery grips, wriststraps, hinge plates, neck straps and typically a 35mm prime w/hood mounted.
*Nikon D5100 with extended battery grip, wriststraps, hinge plates, neck strap and typically a 50-300mm w/reversible hood mounted.

When on shoots I carry both suspended on the shoulder straps but inside the bag when not.
*Sigma 70-300(spare)
*Nikor 17-55mm
*soon to add another lens prob a 50-105mm
*All lens in padded bags
*Rain covers for both cameras
*Macro kit
*Filters
*Large cleaning kit
*Waterproof accessory box for connectors, card readers, etc.
*SD card case (10 cards)
*Small pouch for IR controllers and wires
*8 spare batteries and mobile charger
*Large Flash
*Fullsize Tripod
*Mini Tripod
*Lenovo tablet or Chrome book
*A regular book
*Snack bars and candy/gum
*Large water bottle
*Small Note pad and pen
*Tooth brush, floss and paste
*My Meds
*Leatherman
*LED flash light.
*and I bet I'm missing something.....

I have hinge plates with carabeaners that hook to the D rings on the shoulder straps and I run the chest strap through the camera straps just in case the D rings ever fail.Gum and spare batteries in the waist band pockets... so handy. I can also strap my Jacket to the bag if I get hot! I tell you its a GD kitchen sink Bag!!!!

There is only 1 minor complaint. The rubber loop through fastener for the dedicated straps used to hold a tripod ripped but that's minor thing because there are tension straps on the sides that are heavier duty and work better.

Couple more points:
*Zippers are good. I think the complaints are from the canvas bags.
*Rain cover works great
*excellent protection for gear.
*comfortable, very comfortable.
*Lots of versatility for interior configuration

For the money you absolutely can not beat this bag! Hell, I think it would be hard to beat this bag for anything under $200-250. It's been taking a beating, holds up and still looks great! Love it!!!
