I bought these for bike riding (Road bikes, like 10-speed) because I have sleeve tattoos that I don't want to wipe off when I fall. I wore them (to the skickers and snorts of my kids and my senile pops) but when Ms.T (the dog) suddenly made a change in course and her leash got caught on the handlebars, I tested them thoroughly. I slid with most of my weight on one forearm for at least 5 feet and I cant even tell which sleeve it was that slid on the asphalt. Its not frayed or torn at all. Neither is my arm. I would buy these again if I had two more arms, or if I thought these weren't going to last forever.

Good for heat

I work in a foundry and I'd get burns all over my wrists and forearms as molten aluminum would hit and burn through. I kept putting off buying a pair of sleeves since no one else really wears them and I didn't want to be the odd man out. Finally caved in and I really wish I bought them earlier. The sleeves are snug and will leave an imprint on your arm if you wear them for a while but I don't mind it since they don't ride down and it makes slipping gloves over my hands and wearing my normal uniform sleeves rolled down easy. The thumbhole is a nice addition to it since, oftentimes I find myself getting burned frequently when reaching out and my sleeve pulling back but the cuff of the glove not being able to cover that far back. They might look like it'd be hot wearing them but I don't notice much of a difference, if anything they help wick the sweat from my arms and the air movement keeps my arms cool. All in all, I'm really glad I bought these.

I ordered these for my stubborn 74 year old father. He insists on doing harsh yard work while taking blood thinners. Sometimes I come home and the sink looks like a scene from The Shinning. So he's been wearing these for about 2 weeks now and by the looks of them and his arms, they are doing their job. He has no cuts, scabs or burns and I am truly grateful. I will be ordering him another pair now. Thank you!

I bought these to do demo work in Houston after Harvey. They were perfect. I was saved many a time from arm gouges from nails and debris because of these things. They aren't itchy or uncomfortable. I wasn't sure I'd like how they hook over your thumb but after using them there, I was so glad they did. Just that much more protection. I wore work gloves over them and they fit fine. They also don't slouch down your arm but stay put. I'm 6'2 and they covered past my elbows. SO glad I purchased these.

My hubs got a puppy for our 25th anniversary. Me being on blood thinners, was getting cut on my arms really bad. His tiny sharp little claws would rip into me at the slightest touch. Now I can play with him and love him as much as I want! They slide on and off easily and are very convenient. His nails and teeth are like tiny little fish hooks and they do snag, but nothing has gotten through to my skin. I would certainly recommend these to anyone with thin skin.

My husband does construction and had recently been put on blood thinners so he was coming home with horrific bruises on his arms and hands every day. He was a mess. I ordered these thinking that MAYBE they would help A LITTLE. Well, they are amazing. He has no bruises anywhere these cover. It's hard to believe the difference. Great product! He loves them. He says they stay cool and are comfortable all day.

Protection during yard work

I purchased these sleeves to protect my arms from cuts from trees and shrubs during lawn work. If you have any reason to protect against small cuts or abrasions, these sleeves work extremely well for that purpose. My red bud trees made me look for something that offered protection. Anyone working with shrubs or flowers with thorns and worry about small nicks, these work.

I constantly kept burning my arms during my daily baking. I thought it was something I was going to have to live with until a friend recommended these sleeves! They are amazing! I ordered these to protect my arms while hand-weeding and pruning. The protectors do a great job and are generally comfortable to wear although they can be hot in very warm, sunny weather. I read the comments of other reviewers before I ordered, so I ordered the large size. They are snug on me and I weigh about 100 pounds. I'm not sure they would be comfortable or safe for someone much, much larger.
