STRAPS ARE TOOOO SHORT FOR AN OFFICE CHAIR!!!! I spent an hour lengthening the straps to make this work on my office chair. Once I was finally able to strap it on got it worked great, I would give it 5 stars if they actually provided quality straps.

UPDATE: I purchased this pack of straps thinking one of these sizes must work with my office chair and the 12 inch were perfect! I am not uping my star rating though because the product should have come with this pack to be able to work for a wider range of people.

Good idea, not well executed
by Dogmom727 (2 out of 5 stars)

My dad likes to lean back in his computer chair but then he can't reach his desk. I thought this was the perfect gift for him. When I first looked at it, the wrist rest was covered in a gross sticky substance. I cleaned that off but it still felt slightly tacky and you could see some marks on it. I hope it the stickiness doesn't return.

The biggest issue, that I've seen in multiple reviews is that the straps are too short to go around office chairs with minimal padding.

My dad used zip ties to attach it to his chair - he shouldn't have to jerry-rig it to use it as it is designed. Please take note of the reviews and make the straps longer for future products.

Missing Items but I Still Love It
by Echo (4 out of 5 stars)

It didn't come with the desk extension bracket (as is pictured and mentioned in the product description) and the Velcro straps just barely fit my chair's arm (and I think they should have included a fourth one to balance out the grip on the chair's arm, but that's a bit nitpicky) but I use this thing every day and it's saved my arm and shoulder from the pain of repeatedly reaching forward to grab the mouse on my desk, so since I can't live (WORK) without this item, I'm going to only deduct one star. My chair needs replacing anyway, so I'll likely look for one with slightly smaller arms (since the extension Velcro straps are nowhere to be found on this product's page).

This is okay for the price

With all of the fuss over the short straps why don't they just include longer straps? I bought a bulk roll of two sided Velcro for $7 at Home Depot to resolve the issue. However, you can also just double up the front straps to make a longer one, and the back one can go around the curve on the back of the arm.

I'm tall and this isn't long enough for me. I think they should leave out the "well" for the wrist rest, and velcro the bottom so you can move it around or not use it. I think this needs to be a few inches longer, and the front part rotating would be very useful. (This model was out of stock and is less wide OR I would have purchased it first.)

Overall I like the idea A LOT. If you don't have a height adjustable arm rest you're in for potential back/alignment trouble. I have a refurbished high-end task chair, and it was a little tricky to setup. I totally forgot about my sit/stand setup though! ;)

Also, if they could figure out a way to tilt the front 30 degrees without the mouse falling off you'd have a much better wrist position. It is probably time for me to switch over to a wireless mouse. ;)

I like it but there are flaws in the design
by C. Tyjewski (4 out of 5 stars)

It was easy to assemble and works. I've found that, overall, it meets my needs with only a few problems with the design.

Some things to think about before you buy. It is only about 8 to 10" in diameter and maybe about that far from the wrist rest to the far end of where the mouse can go. I use a trackball mouse so moving my mouse around isn't an issue but the limited space maybe an issue for someone with a traditional mouse and or someone with larger hands/arms (I even find myself occasionally pushing the mouse up against the guards wishing the pad were a bit bigger.

Another thing to think about: the armrest and it's positionality. I, personally, know of no one whose arms work at a 90 degree angle from their desk... at least not comfortably. I have managed to get this to set up at approx. a 45 degree angle on my desk which is more comfortable for me. That said, I think the designers should have made this a part of the design (it clearly was not). The armrest is also not the sturdiest of materials nor is it that long (about 10 to 12" or so). If you are rough with your equipment and/or you need something for someone bigger, you might want to look elsewhere.

The Bad, The Good, and the Not So Ugly

i originally ordered from JStores.. (stay away from them, the item didnt arrive, then they refunded me the money and promised to send another if i changed my review to a good one...they Didnt-liars).

this was the second time i ordered this item and it arrived quickly from this seller. works well on chair arm or desk. i originally wanted it for the chair arm, but found if you do a lot of typing, most of your time is still spent bent over the desk with your arm off this rest, so i just moved it to the desktop. works good, only little bother, is perhaps the keyboard sitting next to it, they sometimes battle a bit for space and one or the other has to move a little. otherwise, glad i finally got one.

Awesome product, middling quality materials.

I have carpal tunnel in my mousing arm and using a mouse can and has been challenging at times due to my hand going numb. After some experimentation I've found that this armrest, strapped to my chair's armrest, provides the most neutral position for me to use a mouse, specifically a trackball. The wrist support is nice, and feels good. It works great for what I need and provides me a lot of relief, I haven't found anything else like it really.

However, it is not the highest quality. I wish the fabric on the armrest was a higher quality. Some more padding in the armrest would be nice as well. I don't like the logo on the mouse pad.

A Great Armrest to have!
by bbnutts(TN USA) (5 out of 5 stars)

Packaged very well and no broken pieces. I added this armrest on my desk chair and so far it works great. At first it was strange having something on the armrest of the chair but you get use to it. The length is 19" long by 4 1/2" wide on the armrest and where the mouse sits on is about 8 5/8" wide from side to side. The color I ordered was black and the padding for your wrist to rest on is very soft but not too soft, its just right. I have not tried adding this to the desk yet with the clamp, I like it on the chair instead. The only thing is I had to find a longer Velcro to wrap around the armrest of the chair, the one that comes with it is a little short but if you have a armrest on the chair this is not so big it probably will work just fine. You will have to use your own judgement on that. Overall I'm very happy with the Computer Armrest!

Saves My Wrists

This has been attached to my desk at work for almost 8 months. My mousing hand began hurting constantly from having my wrist resting on the edge of the desk. I was about to schedule a doctor's appointment and saw this and decided to give this one last thing a try, and voila! It did the trick. This is a very simple item. It could fit a very thick work surface. It does no damage, leaves no marks on furniture. It stays attached to my desk, but from time to time I take it off for various reasons, and it's easy and quick to do so. It's very sturdy and extremely comfortable. I absolutely love it.

The idea has merit, but the execution is flawed.
by melindeeloo (3 out of 5 stars)

2 stars for execution and 3 for the idea. - This is my second one of these. I use this strapped to my desk arm and the straps are too short to fit around the chair's arm rest. I improvised a solution to this and the device helps with shoulder pain since the rest does keep my shoulder in a neutral position. The other problem is that this is not made to last. The wrist rest deteriorates over time and small pieces of the foam start shedding. And since the strapping to the arm is not super fixed (there is some wiggle) I suspect that the plastic holding the straps to the rest will break off (which is what happened to my first one of these.
