Love this! I've never liked frying hamburger, I'm not a fan of huge chunks and I disliked standing there having to be so attentive to mushing and turning, mushing and turning. My husband has ruined several of my decent non-stick pans because he would use metal utensils (forks) while breaking up the meat when he fried hamburger, now that there is a "dedicated utensil" I hope to save my pans, lol. The red part is soft silicone (like OXO's spatula's) which is good for scraping the edge of the pan.

I used mine the first time to make "hamburger helper", it broke up the hamburger much quicker than anything else I've used and also stirred the sauce and noodles into the browned meat.

I think I have always been intimidated by cooking with ground beef. I am that mom who forgets to leave it out overnight to defrost. I am that mom who pulls out the meat from my freezer an hour prior to cooking dinner, or tossing it in the microwave to defrost.

But anyone who cooks like this knows how it is still frozen on the inside and unevenly cooks the edges....

so when we stick it in the pan, we spend countless minutes scraping the cooked stuff off one side, flip the meat, scrape off the cooked meat, repeat a thousand times. Then wrestle and stab at the long strips of meat on the pan to try and get them to cook evenly and get a good texture- a loosing battle.

Let me tell you about this simple tool and how it has changed me.

Like a master chef, I can now chop up the meat. Yes, it still has to do the little cook one side, flip, dance; but now it cuts sooo much time out of the equation. Those little strips of unmanageable meat are now history and I get perfectly, evenly cooked, ground beef each time!

When I do remember to defrost it hours before, cooking the meat is a snap.

I am really impressed with this little tool and how much it has changed my mentality when cooking ground beef. I now cook ground beef two to three times as often. It is no longer an intimidating task that will take an hour.

I am a cast iron momma, so my only wish is that this came in a metal. So far, the ground meat chopper has had no problems with melting or warping. I am able to chop meat easily and scrape the sides well, so I don't even need a spatula to cook with, however I do call upon my serving spoon when it is time to eat. It cleans up very nicely and is top rack dishwasher safe. It is very attractive to look at as well, so it lives on my counter in plain sight.

I love it- it is one of those kitchen items I will now always have around.

Oxo produces a number of novel solutions for kitchen cooking chores. This is one of them, in the Oxo tradition of useful tools that are comfortable and get a job done! Perfect for cooking ground meats, but also useful for chopping cooked vegetables for soups, etc. Price is very good. It is also safe for use in non-stick pots and pans. Thank you Oxo!

I happen to come across this when I was looking at an OXO strainer and thought that I would give it a try. I make a lot of ground turkey which can be kind of a pain to brown. This thing makes the job so much easier. This meat chopper broke down a 3lb roll of Jennie-O ground turkey in less than 30 seconds. No more fighting with spatulas or beating up my pans. I love all things OXO (I was not paid to say that), their product quality is always top notch and this meat chopper is no different.

I can't tell you how much I adore this meet chopper. It takes large pieces of ground round, chuck or beef, and turns them into a much finer consistency for the best dishes. I've even purchased these as gifts and EVERYONE comes back and says they are a wonderful addition to their kitchen tools. I wouldn't be without it!!!

I was impressed with this from the first use. It makes breaking up hamburger a breeze in the frying pan, as well as turning it and pushing it aside to separate the grease. This tool has simplified a job I've always disliked.

This works great when cooking ground beef but is awesome for ground pork. It's so hard to get ground pork to get into small pieces when frying. This makes it so much nicer especially when blending ground beef and pork together as you get small even pieces that allow to have more of a flavor blend. I hate having a sauce that has big chunks of pork.

I used it to break up pieces of chicken in a skillet, for which it worked fairly well. Unfortunately when washing it I discovered that the edges had melted and started to come apart
