Cute with some quirks...
by Judy (3 out of 5 stars)

I've only had this camera for a day, but there're definitely some things I wish I had looked into before purchasing.

First: the flash doesn't always go off. And there's no way to turn it on/off. I took a picture next to a lamp - no flash. I moved about three feet away and the flash went off. I ended up with a photo with a lit background and two dark figures. That was unfortunate...

Second: for some reason, this camera would NOT take photos outside at night. I tried several times. I thought it was malfunctioning or breaking! And this was only after TWO photos. But I took it inside (and took the lamp/distant lamp photos then) and found the camera was working fine.

Third (connected to the flash problem): sometimes it's difficult to tell whether the photo is going to print or not. When I took it outside at night, it made an obvious clicking noise as though it were going to print. Nothing. I took it inside and got no flash so, assuming the picture wasn't printing, began adjusting the camera. Then I heard the printer start going... I got a blurry selfie.

Fourth: there's a firmware update, and I need a microSD to get it! I plan on only using this camera for instant photos (even if the photos don't come out perfect - the mistakes and terrible shots get to be part of the fun and memories), but I imagine I'll want the firmware update to avoid any other problems, so I may just purchase it.

Those are my qualms. Overall, it is SUCH a cute camera. I should also mention (to my surprise), the camera doesn't come with instructions. It was just packaging with info, e.g. instant photos, etc. printed on it. Not difficult at all to figure it out, though, considering there are only four buttons. I like the magnetic lens cover. It comes with a wrist strap, too. I can't attest to how the photos actually look when you don't print them and look at them on the computer or something, but the printed photos are all right. A sibling has the Fujifilm Instax Mini 90 Neo Classic, and I think her photos come out better. The color is nice and a bit more vibrant. I've tried only two out of three of the color settings on the Polaroid Snap, and even the one with full color comes out a bit dull.

I am satisfied with my purchase and do enjoy the camera.

Edited: after about a week with this camera and both perusing reviews for other instant cameras and seeing them in action, this one just doesn't seem worth the buy. The best thing about it is probably its cute physical aesthetic, but performance-wise, it is disappointing.

Really glad I bought this!

I'm very happy with this polaroid! I'm a really big fan of photography and cameras and I had been wanting an instant camera for a while. I finally bough this for my birthday to myself. First of all, I had some worries about the quality, I read so many reviews that were not convinced about this camera and I didn't know if I wanted to risk it, so here is what convinced me to buy it.

Pros:
-No batteries (that I saw were needed in other cameras), this might be something not so bothersome but its 2016 and a camera shouldnt need AA batteries.
-Memory Card, you can store your pics, have them on your computer, share them, whatever. I recently used this to take a picture with a foreign friend and was able to give her the picture, knowing that I would have a copy of it. Really cool.
-Doesn't look like a toy, I know this might not be an issue for everyone but I am seriously not into any of the designs of the Fuji ones, and believe me, before I made my choice between cameras I saw all of them in person in Urban Outfitters and Best Buy,
-Paper can be a little cheaper, its not that big of a difference, but its a plus
-Filters, this comes in b&w, regular colors and vintage colors, its cool they come out even more cool (hipster for some people I guess). Also the advantage of being able to have it with or withour border or having the photobooth option.

What I was worried about:
-Filters, I read some reviews about it coming out wrong, light, etc, I do have to say that color and b&w are perfectly fine, the vintage one is the only one I've had issues with, can't seem to make it work in a way that looks amazing like the other two.
- I read about the framing of the picture, how what you see through the eyehole was not what came out in the picture, and its true, but It's not as bad as I read. In reality what gets printed is a cropped version from what you see through the eyehole, so if you're trying to make a lot of people fit into a picture you should try to leave extra space on the sides.
-Quality, but as I said before, they come out fine, at least i think so, I had fuji pictures (taken with friends' cameras) and my pictures and they really do seem great to me.

Cons:
-You need to look up the user guide on the internet, its on the polaroid web page, but everything is there
-The lens cover, don't forget to take it off!!
- The eyehole/on button is very sensitive and can open at any moment, I bought a case so it wouldn't be a problem anymore.

All in all I really thing its a great choice, great price, but I get why people would prefer other cameras. I hope this review was helpful, and sorry for any mistakes, english is not my first language.
(Pics uploaded were taken by me, one in the vintage filter, the other one in regular colors)

Way happier we went Snap instead of the FUJI Instax my sister kept talking about.
by joshua Berkowitz (5 out of 5 stars)

Way happier we went Snap instead of the FUJI Instax my sister kept talking about. Why? Let me count the ways.
1) You get that classic instant Polaroid print (perfect wallet size by the way) AND a digital image you can share, post and everything else to show your kids you're cool and living in the past. All you get with the Fuji is a print--whether you want it or not.
2) You tell the camera what to print and how many to print--not the other way around. If I had a dime for every lousy picture that popped out of my dad's One Step, I'd have a lot of dimes. My wife says the "anticipation"--seeing if was worth saving--was part of the fun. I say I'd rather save money knowing I can decide what to print...though if we're in a "retro" mood you can apparently set it for classic auto print...but the choice is yours, not the camera
3) $9.49 gets you 10 Instax prints (whether you like them or not)
$9.99 gets you 20 Polaroid SNAP prints (and YOU can pick 'em before you print 'em!)

I don't care if you're Bernie Sanders or Donald Trump, why pay almost a buck a print with the Fuji when Polaroid's prints are half that?
4) Really cool brand. Really cool memories. Reason we got the Snap was so my non-digital grandmother could leave my uncle's surprise party with some actual pictures , but once everyone realized our SNAP wasn't just Polaroid in name but Polaroid in instant pictures as well, we had everyone asking us for prints...plus everyone over the age of 20 "had a Polaroid story"...(and not G or PG either), seems people saw the name, the cool little "rainbow stripe" and the pictures coming out...and so did the stories.
5) Good for business. I'm in catering and as much as everything is digital these days, You'd be surprised at how much clients like being handed a print or two, of their custom cake or birthday sushi platter--especially as the Snap is small enough to slip into my jacket pocket without making it look like I'm carrying a gun

Is my Snap going to replace my iPhone? Hardly. It DOES take a bit of getting used to as would any traditional type camera at this point And while it doesn't have an LCD viewing screen, the pop-up "optical" (as in glass) viewfinder did the job just fine--even if it DID remind me of some video games from my misspent youth. What it does do is give me one heck of an option when I'm in places where I don't want to waste my phone battery but DO want to be able to take and share actual pictures--not just digital ones. PLUS my Fuji-fanatic sister can't take credit for the fact we made the smarter choice and went with a Polaroid Snap .

Waste of money: poor quality and horrible alignment
by Scout1846 (1 out of 5 stars)

I purchased this instant digital camera with fairly low expectations. I just wanted something that would give me decent but not great instant photos of my young son doing the small daily things that are so important to record as a baby grows. This camera, however, produces VERY poor quality images, no matter what the ambient light level and no mattter what settings are used. The printed pictures are either way to bright or are unfocused. But the thing that makes this purchase a true waste of money is that the pop-up view finder does not represent the image that is captured by the camera. Centering a person's head and shoulders in the viewfinder, for example, results in a photo of that person's torso and upper legs. As a result, the user is forced to play a guessing game and "offset" the image in the viewfinder in a blind attempt to capture the desired image (i.e. aim above the person's head in an attempt to get an actual picture of their face).

I would return this item but, in an effort to troubleshoot these issues, I have exceeded my return window. So I am left with what essentially amounts to a digital paperweight.

I wish I had never purchased this camera and am extremely disappointed in the declining quality of Polaroid's products.

The Real Deal with the Polaroid Snap
by m. fazili (5 out of 5 stars)

First of all, this little camera is AMAZING!!!! It has good (enough) quality and much variety and choice in pictures.

Before getting the Polaroid Snap, I did LOADS of research before I decided against my other option, a Fujifilm instax mini 70. It's perfect for me! I had seen bad reviews and was very scared to get it, but finally went for it, and I'm glad I did.

For your convenience, here's the truth: Heads ups, FYIs, advice, and (a few) opinions too.

PHOTOS AREN'T PERFECT>>> No photos are perfect. Make sure you know that when you buy the Snap. It's mostly for fun and not very professional. However, you can always get some very good photos out of it.

FIRMWARE UPDATE>>> Get an SD card with the Snap. It will come in handy, especially when you want a casual photo and don't want to use up paper. Your SD card will allow you to get a firmware update as well. That will fix photobooth mode in most cameras.

NO ACCIDENTAL SHOTS>>> The latest firmware won't let you take a picture with the lens cap on which is REALLY convenient when it comes to saving paper and storage on an SD card.

VARIETY>>> The Snap is a fun camera with loads of choices and variety to your pictures. It really makes taking pictures unique and enjoyable.

SLEEK DESIGN>>> The Snap is really slim and sleek. It can fit in a shirt pocket and is really easy to hold. It also has a lanyard so you don't drop it.

STICKERS!!!>>> The back of zink paper can be peeled off to reveal a sticky back. Perfect for scrapbooking, your pictures are now stickers!!

SELF-ADJUSTING FLASH>>> Unlike the instax mini 8 and 70, the Snap has self adjusting flash. It will turn itself off if you're in a very BRIGHT area.

DON'T WAIT TO OPEN IT>>> The first Polaroid Snap I got broke down (didn't close when powered down) just like I had read in reviews. I was so sad that it happened to me, but I decided to give it another try. So, I shipped it back for another one. This one works PERFECTLY!! Just don't wait more than 30 days to open it so Amazon can let you return it... I've seen many reviews in which people have said that they didn't know about the return window. Make sure you check that it works!!

Thanks for reading... Hope this helps!!!

Cheap & rarely works

This is by far one of the worst purchases I've ever made. I was so excited for this camera. I have now purchased the same camera twice and both of them have been absolute junk. Prints blank photos randomly jam I have now purchased the same camera twice and both of them have been absolute junk. Prints blank photos randomly (about 50% of the time) and jams up.

The current jam has completely made this camera useless. The first camera I thought was a fluke but after buying the second one and having the same problems I realize it's just a cheap novelty with a high-priced tag. Don't waste your money.

Very Poor Quality Photos & Photos not centered & more expensive than the rest.
by Ana (1 out of 5 stars)

DO NOT BUY. I am not too pleased with this product. I purchased this polaroid because it was smaller and nicer looking for my sisters birthday to take photos of her baby. The camera does not take good queality photos like the other Fujitsu polariod cameras do and the photos are not centered no matter how hard you try to take a good photo. It keeps cutting off half of someones body and their head sometimes no matter how much you center it. I wish I could return the product but I missed my deadline since this was a present. I only purchased a month ago. I would return and purchase the Fujitsu one because it's cheaper and has better quality photos.

Cool camera!
by Lizzie (5 out of 5 stars)
May 31, 2017

This is such a cute camera. It is similar in size to my phone so I can carry it around with me.

The pictures it takes are pretty good! Definitely not the highest quality digital camera, but I got this for the nostalgia feel and the instant photos. The camera acts more like a printer where the images come out fully developed compared to the slow develop of older instant photos.

I love the fact that I can have a digital copy of the photos so I can give them away to friends. I've included photos so you can see the difference between the digital and the physical photos.

Instant on-the-spot prints... that are also STICKERS!
by Mark Gilden,Top Contributor: Photography (5 out of 5 stars)
May 17, 2016

I grew up loving my Polaroid instant prints. This modern version not only gives you the instant gratification of a print (that we all know and love), but it also peels off and actually doubles as a STICKER! How cool is that! Teenage-me would have loved having one of these instead of taping stuff to the wall.

To be fair, the picture quality isn't stellar... in fact, your cell phone might already take better pictures. But the instant gratification of a print is what you are buying here, and that is super cool. That and the fact that the camera itself is also super cool and retro- even the magnetic lens cap, as easy as it is to forget it is on, is very satisfying to "click" back into place. And unlike the Fujifilm instant print cameras, this will also save your pics to a microSD card for later reprints and/or safekeeping in this digital world.

If instant gratification is your thing or you just have a nostalgia for old Polaroid concepts, this camera is for you!

NOTE: Does not come with film/paper. You'll need that, and/or a Micro SD card. The camera can work with either or both, but not with none.

this Polaroid Snap camera works pretty well. It's the size of the typical digital ...
by jlam949 (5 out of 5 stars)

Compared to the Fujifilm Instax MINI 8, this Polaroid Snap camera works pretty well. It's the size of the typical digital camera. So you can slip it into your back pocket unlike the Instax. But I do admit, the Instax is cuter, looks more like a traditional camera with better color options. But I guess it comes down to more of a preference. The Snap uses zinc paper, so when the photo prints, it looks like you printed directly from a printer rather than an old school Polaroid photo, like the Instax (prints slower too.) The photos are smaller than the Instax but the Zinc paper has a sticker backing, so it's like a sticker pix. The Snap photos can be printed with a white border and can be printed in color, sepia and black in white. But what I do like is that this camera can print with a photo booth option, so 4 photos in one print. And this camera has a Micro SD Card option, which is a plus for me. I normally end up giving the printouts to others, but now I have a copy for myself. The only difference that I've notice is that the SNAP is on auto, while the Instax has lighting options. And the Instax is at a lower price point. Other than that, they work pretty similar. You still need good lighting and your photos should probably be within 3-5 feet away.
* Camera can be used with/without paper but without, you must have a Micro SD card.
** Photo by itself is the digital from SD card
