Product Description

Introducing the Mouse of the Future

The name Odin is derived from an old Germanic word for “seer, prophet”, which is fitting for a futuristic, innovative product that challenges people’s perceptions of electro-optical applications and opens a whole new world of possibilities. The world's first laser projection mouse, the ODiN Laser Holographic Mouse will redefine your daily user habits for controlling, designing, and gaming on your computer.

• With low CPU loading and responsive design, the ODiN enables smoother web-surfing and gaming experiences.

• Multipoint controls such as click, scroll, drag and zoom will all be supported in the 8 x 8cm projection area that turns any flat surface into a trackpad.

• Tiny and portable, the ODiN weighs only 40 grams and fits well in your pocket or backpack, and consumes very little power!

• The triangle runic symbol is now a “button” for you to define! Whether it is to open a particular software or to return to the desktop, the button is at your disposal. You can even code your own macro and share it on Serafim’s online forum!

• Unique design makes it cool to look at and to show off.

*Through popular Kickstarter and Indiegogo fundraising campaigns, the ODiN project raised more than $200K combined, which more than doubled their initial funding goal!

**Winner of the Comuptex d&i and Best Choice awards

***The ODiN Aurora has drawn attention and acclaim for its innovative design from major media outlets around the globe

A Great Idea that Simply Doesn't Work
by am lite (1 out of 5 stars)

Gee I like technology...I'm an early adopter and I'm usually not too difficult to please.

I really like the idea of this product and really wanted it to work well.

Alas - the technology's simply not there yet.

Imagine activating your mousepad by using a broken popsicle stick held between your teeth...
...while having an epileptic fit.

That should give you some idea of just how frequently what's happening on the screen correlates with what the user is doing with their finger.

If I was the sort of fellow who returned things I'd surely ask for my money back on this one

Clumsy and inconvenient. Can not compare to a regular old mouse.

Fun toy, but but not very useful.

Takes a lot of getting used to. And you need a very dark desk. If there is any light, even the slightest, its accuracy is severely diminished. I have found that it doesn't work well at all with a light-colored desk surface.

Ignore negative reviews. Worth every penny. Not for gaming.

Ignore the bad reviews. Coolest mouse I ever owned. Not a gaming mouse option but great for work. Takes up no space on your desk.

Great gift for college students!

As a college student, I often stay up working at my laptop at odd hours, and my loud clicking noises don't go well with my dorm roommate trying to sleep. Now I can work fervently--with light taps on my desk--without worrying about waking up my roommate. Thank you ODiN for saving my relationship with my roommate!

This mouse will take some getting used to. I often still find myself reaching for my trackpad, but your joints will thank you!

Great idea. Just doesn't work.

The concept is neat, no doubt. But after two days of using it, I find that simple tasks take 5-8 times as long, as Odin rarely gets the movement right. Yes, moving the mouse point works well. But then you go to tap-to-click the selection, and it thinks the pointer should move, so now you have to move the pointer back to your selection and try again. Repeat 3 or 4 times for EVERY mouse click. Fine control of this device just isn't possible. Of course, with a completely virtual trackpad, you have zero tactile feedback, so you're always taking your eyes off the screen to see what your finger is doing. Also, the bottom of the Odin could use some non-skid material. The cord isn't very long and has a tendency to tug the Odin out of position.

Not that I think Odin is a failure, just needs a lot more work to be truly usable. 1) Better software, including it's own configuration utility, with the ability to fine-tune the settings. 2) More weight and non-slidy-ness. 3) Maybe an add on trackpad, with tactile features (raised bumps) for the buttons and borders.

It's takes some getting used to the space limitation of the touch area but overall seems to work as advertised. I like that I can set it at an angle for wrist relief. I may try the keyboard!
