Great in theory, but not as great in real life

So I bought this thinking of all the money I would save long term in flies as well as being able to get the flies and lures that others left in trees next to where I fished. When the opportunity arose I had a much harder time securing this to the end of my rod than the video showed. It certainly could have been user error, but the result was it taking a few minutes to put the tool on the end of my rod. When I went to retrieve the lure I was after the retriever fell off of my rod and slowly sank to the bottom of the stream! So there went the investment and all my visions of saving money long term.

Like the idea, but didn't work for me in practice.

I like the fly retriever it comes in handy to get flies out of tree branches,Especially nowadays flies are t cheap and any way that you can save a few is helpful.
