We used this cooler at an outdoor party last week and it was SO WORTH IT!!

I usually hate outdoor parties (we live in Tennessee) because i end up sticky with sweat, but we set this cooler up on a wire rack with the port aimed up into the top of our gazebo tent, and we sat around the table, had dinner and cake, and talked for hours without complaint. The tent was in full sun and we started at 83 degrees... it felt at least 10 degrees cooler under the tent but it never felt like we were trading in lower temperatures for higher humidity.

This is CULER's newest model, and it's a huge improvement over the old one. All you have to do is fill it with water, plug it it, punch a few buttons and off you go, making the air much cooler and the atmosphere a LOT more pleasant!

I would offer one piece of advice - water in our metro area is *really* chlorinated, and we make the mistake of using tap water to fill the SOLO. If you're at all sensitive to smells, I'd go with distilled or at least filtered water for this unit, because evaporating the water makes whatever smell is in that water really noticeable.

Limited effectiveness

This cooler was very well made and easy to use. However, I found the cooling only effective when I sat very close to it. It was pretty noisy when the fan was on high. In the end I decided to purchase an air conditioner and have been very pleased with the result. This might be useful for a small office space.

I own two of these and, for what they are, they are great... good for surviving in a travel trailer if the grid fails and you don't have an addequate generator... They can run off of a 12v battery or one or two 75 or 100 watt solar panels (60 or 120 watts)

This cooler releases a fine mist; warning, if you live in a high humidity area it will not "flash-evaporate" and will make furniture or floor damp and its cooling capability is not as effective. VirVentures company charges 15% restocking fee if you return it and will give you a big hassle if you open the box and try the product, they decide if you get a refund after examining the contents. I spend $70 and nothing show for it.

Automizer did not work on 2 of these products

The automizer that makes the air "COOL" did not work on either of these products. I also found that the company did not have a website and I called & left 2 messages on the phone # listed on warranty page & internet. It's been 2 weeks and still no one has returned my call. I am disabled, so filling and emptying these, let alone doing it twice, was a real pain. Taking them to the UPS store was difficult because of their bulkiness. I even talked to tech support to make sure I was doing EVERYTHING correctly. I WAS! They had UPS pick them up. What a bummer.

bought unit to cool down motorhome and in that confined space found it noisy and water all over the floor in front of unit, veritable puddles so not sure about the cooling as I got heated up mopping the floor. Might work well outside - where it is now consigned.
