Literally did mario and princess peach for halloween this year. This is the ONLY video game the BF and I will actually play together. Who cares if the mug works, it's Mario! That being said, the mug totally works and it's actually pretty fun when the drinks recedes, as it appears that darkness is falling from the top of the mug! It's also cool the little details that are in it, like the coin or the eyes on the star. Obviously can't microwave/put in dish machine, but if you are ever silly enough to do so, I warn you all of the black permanently disappears, which at least has the happy side effect of leaving it NOT in dark world! (which is, by far, the WORST worlds! other than that stupid tiny mushroom one on Wii. Or any of the ones in the air with the scrolling screen. Or the ghosts that follow you from out of nowhere. Or the walking fire from the candles for the love of God! I love this game!)

Beautiful, but needs a lot of care

I absolutely love this mug, but I only got through one day before the paint/decal chipped. I have other color-change mugs that I've ran through the dishwasher many times, against manufacturer recommendations, and they've held up decently for 1+ years. This Mario mug is very fragile in comparison. I let it sit in a tub of water overnight with some other wash-only dishes, which softened up the color-change label. I saw the label had tiny bubbles on one side and when I rubbed one of the flat, the sticker rubbed off.

This is a great gift for any gamer, it is really cool and the mug looks especially cool when it's only half-filled. But you have to be really careful: don't soak it, don't use super hot water, don't put in dishwasher and avoid a harsh scrubber when cleaning it.

The colors are no where NEAR as vibrate as pictured. The Mario level (as cold) starts out with a black background and then (as hot) warms up to a lighter shade of black. I was expecting a sky blue...but it's still pretty dark. I enjoy the novalty of it, but cutting to the chase, it's a plain white mug with a cheap sticker on it. I don't foresee the design on this mug having a long lifespan.

Very neat how it changes pictures according to hot and cold temperatures. Do NOT wash in dishwasher. My first one got ruined. I was carful with my second one but even after hand washing for a while the material on the cup started to flake off in some places.

Broken handle

Just received the mug and the handle was broken in multiple spots. The rest of the mug looks cool, however I hope I can receive a replacement before xmas.

This does not work as well as I had hoped. And for some reason it is not returnable...

Update: after putting boiling water in the cup it's much better, still not as bright as I had hoped.
