Do Not Buy This Product (Please Read)

It looks like im not the only one who has experience sudden stoppage. It worked great when it worked. Now I have a $100 bar decoration. The problem is the two wires that were soldered to the contacts of the switch are tiny and corrode to the point of breaking. The battery contacts corroded too. There is not a good way to clean it. They tell you not to submerge in water to clean. (We didn't BTW) Guess what? That tells me somebody knew the vulnerability of the electrical circuit before it was ever released for retail. Like I said it works great but it won't last. Mine was a gift for my wife. So needless to say it was past the return period. Be prepared to be a victim. I hope this helps.

Great idea, but needs redesign where straw connects to head

Great idea. I purchased this one to replace one we received as a gift. The original unit broke at the point where the straw connects with the head, soon after receiving it. I would give it 5 stars if that point wasn't easily broken plastic.

Loved this.... for the first 2 months... then the batteries that came with the unit corroded within the unit. I have not heard back from the company... pretty expensive to only work for 2 months

My rating is bad because it broke after just a few uses. When it did work. It was amazing. The wine tasted so much better and it was quick and easy. It does take 6 AAA batteries which got me through about 12 bottles of wine. However, all of a sudden when I went to use it again, it just stopped working. I changed out the batteries and still nothing. I am outside the return or replace period so I am stuck with a $100 paper weight.

Love this product but broke after 39 days. Waiting to hear from company. If they do not warranty, I would STRONGLY run from this product! Breaks very easily!

Update--Amazon refunded the money and Aervana offered a discount on a new one. I will try again. Still like the product, not sure about a 30 day warranty--seems l like it is not long enough but I will give it another round.

Horrible design. No protection if bottle is tipped.

Our unit stopped working suddenly so we sent it in for warranty and were shocked to discover that this device that is designed to handle liquids but it is not sealed to prevent the liquids from damaging the unit which of course is not covered under the warranty.

Here is the response from Aervana:

We received and inspected your defective Aervana unit. Upon inspection we found a significant amount of corrosion, verdigris and rust under the top cover which caused the unit to short out. I am attaching a photo for your reference. This can only occur if water or wine has been allowed into the unit during cleaning or use or if the unit was knocked over while attached to a bottle of wine. There is no way for water or wine to get up in the top area during normal use. The Aervana is an electrical product and cannot be washed or knocked over as the liquid will leak into the top and short out the unit. Battery corrosion would not cause the verdigris that is shown in the product.

Please note that this falls under user error and is not covered under warranty.

Huge disappointment and waste of money

I purchased this product as a Christmas gift for my husband. I don't think I can overstate what a huge disappointment it was. Not because it didn't aerate the wine - it did an amazing job of that, and we loved how easily it aerated and how great the wine tasted. Which made the subsequent breakdown of the product all the more disappointing. From the first use, we noticed that wine was leaking from the two "seams" at the top. Just a little, but it was leaking. And then when we used it on a bottle of water to clean it (per the instructions), we saw that a lot of water leaked. At one point (after only two or three uses), my husband took the top off and said there was liquid around the batteries. He took them out, dried everything off, and put it back together. I started holding a paper towel around the top when I used it, to keep wine from dripping everywhere. This was only a week or two after Christmas.

Last night the unit stopped working completely. When we took it apart we could see the batteries were completely corroded from getting wet and they were dark with the red wine that had leaked in there. My husband said he doesn't even want another unit, he'll continue to aerate by hand with our Vinturi. Really, really a shame, because this did the job it was supposed to do so well, but it's just very poorly designed or manufactured. I know other people had problems with the straw breaking, and that would at least be easily replaced - but still a bad design. I read many reviews before buying, but since the positives outweighed the negatives, I bought it anyway. I see there are a few other options out there from other companies, so might try one of those. But I would absolutely NOT recommend purchasing this unit.

Save your money

I bought a few of these for myself and also for many friends and family. I LOVED the way the wine tasted after using it. I was so hooked I supported their (ultimately failed) Kickstarter. So why the bad review? Bc this will 100% fail on you after regular use. It doesn't come with cleaning instructions but apparently you can't run water thru it (which makes zero sense since it's used for liquid!). The battery top isn't sealed so water gets in it. When I sent TWO of them back with the same problem the company's response was to send me a YouTube link on how I should've cleaned it (would've been nice to have those instructions with the aerator) and ofter me a discount on a replacement. User error? Absolutely. But had there been actual instructions, it wouldn't have happened. Save your money. There are other, WATER PROOF, electronic aerators that work just as well for much less money. I'm replacing all of my gifts with other versions too bc - SURPRISE! - theirs all crapped out too. So disappointing.

Seriously - this is not just a cool little wine tool

Don't even think or have to worry about uncorking and aerating your wine for 45 minutes. This item is the bomb. My wife and I were very skeptical when we received it as a gift. We have since bought them for friends. This item along with the right glass totally kicks the wine experience up a number of notches. Seriously - this is not just a cool little wine tool. It makes a difference. Buy one - use it along with your favorite wine glass of the given wine and you'll see what I mean. My wife and I did the tests and we were totally pleased. Only issue is that I wish they include a tube to work with the 1.5 litre magnum bottles instead of just 2 for the 750's.

This works well and it looks really cool too. I am not sure how anyone can complain about it. It has a very sophisticated look to it. We have tried it many times now and really enjoyed it. The straw does not reach the last small glass worth of wine in the bottom of the bottle, but that's not a big deal. The Aervana rests easily on top of the wine bottle. Press the button on the top and it pours into your glass automatically and very smoothly. The wine tastes great! I am very happy with this purchase. It is so easy to use and a great conversation piece when serving guests. Everyone loves it!
