This is a very cute product. I am over 50 years old and I love it "“ I bought it just for myself! That having been said. But the people who are so picky about everything let me break some things down for you. This is not a thick heavy knit, end it is not the greatest quality on earth. I got the turquoise blue and it's a very pretty color. The tail is not enclosed so if you put your feet in and keep going down you can put them all the way out through the bottom, but the bottom is tight. If you're just laying around in the blanket you can barely tell there's a tail on the end of it you have to spread it out to make it look pretty. I think anybody who likes to sit around with a blanket on them would think this was really cute and sweet. Unless you happen to receive a defective one, I don't see how anyone could complain about this for $13.

I was able to help my cousin fulfill his lifelong dream of becoming Ariel from The Little Mermaid. He said the mermaid tail blanket couldn't have been more life-like and that the purple really brought out his eyes. 10/10 would buy again. Will buy again. Will be the only linens in my house.

Comparing 8 styles and colors

Ok i figured id write a review comparing several since i had difficulty choosing style and color so i hope this helps. After looking at several reviews i decided to buy 8 of them. Colors are scale green, light green, big green, tassles purple, scale pink, big purple, blue purple and blue and i am very happy with all of them. The blue and blue purple were the least expensive and i was worried about quality and size of the tail because, based of other reviews, it seems like was a hit or a miss and some pics look like they were made great and others not so much. I'm guessing this is due to different manufacturers producing it. Also i realized that they stretch a little so when you see a pic of them just removed from the air tight package versus a pic of someone in the blanket it makes sense that they look different due to a little stretch. My pics were taken when i immediately removed them from the package so they are not stretched yet. I have since used one and it has stretched a little but not so much that its a problem or looks bad. Actually it looks better. For colors youll notice the scale green looks almost exactly like the big green and they are very pretty. The tassles purple is gorgeous. I got the scale pink for my neice who is a tall 4 year old because in some reviews people said the kids size is too short and the scale blankets tend to be shorter adult size so its perfect. The light green doesnt photograph true to color. It looks more gray in the pics but it is mostly a muted mint green with some white and gray. Its very pretty and not loud so if you want something subtle in your living room that doesnt look out of place with your neutral decor then this is perfect. Its clear that the blue and blue purple are not as good in quality as the other colors i purchased which is probably why they were the least expensive. However they are still very decent quality and perfect if you want to get someone a fun gift thats only $12. It definitely looks like it was more than $12. Some other reviewers said their blankets arrived smelling bad or damp but mine were just fine. Smells like they came from a department store- not great smelling but not bad either, just store smell. All in all they are an awesome buy and im very happy with my purchase

REVIEW OF GIG RED & TASSLE PURPLE (71 X 35.5) These blanket tails channeled my inner little mermaid. I'll Just comb my hair with a fork already, I'm so pleased!

FYI Material, fin size, tightness of blanket differ between colors: After scouring helpful customer photos (passing it on by posting my own), I bought the "gig red" based off of the thick knit and beautiful large fun. I made a mistake, red was too tight and uncomfortable. I'm not a big girl by any means, but I felt like the blanket was skin tight and def not enough room to be comfortable lying down or walk (to the fridge). I have to admit I loved all of the colors at first click, so I bought 4: red, scale purple, blue/purple, blue. I've kept the scale purple for myself and the rest are gifts I've yet to give (and try too when they open it). The scale purple with tassels is absolutely gorgeous, with bright pink and purple fabric, and the scales are plushy. I was afraid of getting a thin blanket, but both the "gig red" and "purple tassle" were weighty and thick, the knit on the red is a heavier weight but the "sizing" was too snug and constricting. The red fin wasn't as pretty or shapely as I thought it would be. Based off of the sizing issue I decided to return. Big fins up to prime!

The scale purple tassle fin is a lighter weight fabric but still soft and knitted, not thin at all. I can lounge in and walk in this one comfortably and there is plenty of room to feel blanketed. I'm 5'7-5'8 and I can probably cover my toes to my chin/mid face , although I haven't tried. Like other reviews have mentioned, the back of the blanket is slotted so any body type can fit, and the bottom of the blanket is open to pull your feet through if you want to get up. I've noticed small peices of lint here and there on the floor, maybe nothing a good wash won't fix. The textured scales and fin shape are very mermaid like and beautiful. I love this whimsical blanket and I can't wait to give them as gifts.

I've found that laghcat is very responsive in answering questions and are lower in price compared to other vendors. The mermaid charm necklace is a great addition.

Will update on fabric quality and fin size on blue/ purple and blue. If you love mermaids don't hesitate to buy it or give it as gifts, definitely puts a smile on my face whenever I use it.

This was the perfect gift for my 10 year old daughter. It is great for reading a book and watching movies. This is soft and cozy and true to size. It is not a costume or for playing in. Delivered right on schedule.

After carefully researching other mermaid blankets, I finally decided on the LAGHCAT, and I'm so glad I did. I purchased them for my two nieces (7 and 9) for Christmas. I opted for the adult blanket after reading a few of the reviews. The blanket wasn't too big for two little girls and allowed plenty of blanket to cover the upper body. I got the Lovely Green and Pink and they were both very pretty. The blankets arrived in vacuumed sealed bags that were inside of the drawstring bag along with the mermaid necklace. I took them out of the inner bag and did not detect any smell. The blankets are beautiful and my nieces loved them. They had a mermaid sack race in them and the blankets held up fine. They also loved the necklace (mermaid was about 2" so a little large but my nieces thought they were great). There is a small hole in the bottom of the blanket, but it is not big enough to walk around while wearing the blanket. The back is opened towards the top but closed at the bottom so your feet stay snuggled but you can move your body and arms around without feeling claustrophobic. I thought the price was great for all that you got--pristine packaging; soft, snuggly blanket; adorable necklace and a nice cinch-sack bag. Would definitely buy again.

I love my mermaid blanket! It's super cozy and the perfect size for me. I am 5 foot and it gives plenty of extra room. Plus I have a small dog that likes to bury himself under my blankets and both he and I can fit in it comfortably. When it came for some reason it was moist and smelled a little musty out of the package, but I threw it in the wash, hung it to dry and viola..it was perfect! I plan on getting some for my nieces birthdays and possibly more for myself. I love blankets!!

Blue and Rose Pink Mermaid Tail Blanket

I bought the blue and rose pink mermaid tail blankets for my daughters' 13th birthday. They like things that are the same but different and these fit the bill. I looked at many different web sites before deciding to go with LAGHCAT and I am extremely happy with this purchase. The color hues of the pink and blue are both bright and beautiful. In addition they are soft, cuddly, and not at all scratchy. The opening at the tail seems to be a big issue. Some are described as open, some not, even varying among colors of the same brand. These blankets are open enough for them to jump up and take small steps to get something then return to their bed or couch. They are closed enough so it feels like a genuine fin, not just a blanket covering feet. In a few words both of these blankets are perfect.
