Product Description

Slash Cards is a horror movie trivia game for 1-6 players. It consists of two card decks: The Trivia Deck, and The Categories Deck. The Trivia Deck contains 1,375 questions that span the entire history of horror cinema. The Categories Deck is used to play Slash Cards' two game modes: The Slasher and The Survivor. In The Slasher, players take turns drawing Category Cards and answering questions. The first player to collect a card from each of the game's five categories wins, but watch out! If you draw a Slash Card you forfeit all your cards and start over. In The Survivor, each player begins with a full suite of Category Cards. Each time a player answers a question incorrectly they lose one of their cards. The last player with at least one card in their hand is the winner. The trivia cards cover everything from the silent era all the way up to 2015, including questions about classics like The Exorcist and Halloween, lesser-known movies like Motel Hell and Session 9, and foreign horror films like Eyes Without A Face and REC. Horror fans of all levels will love Slash Cards.

I loooooove this game! Two different ways of playing and both are a blast. Has some really difficult questions but also some easier ones so it's fun for everyone! Bought it for a friend who has his masters in film specializing in horror films and he loves it!

I'm a huge lifelong horror fan. I've been able to answer about 75% of the questions. There are some really hard questions, and for me, that makes it a lot of fun. It's obvious that the creators put A LOT of time and effort into finding a wide range of questions and topics from all different time periods. The problem is that, this game can only be played by *serious* horror fans. Casual fans would have trouble answering a 1/4 of the questions, i'd bet. I played with friends who like horror and they quickly felt out of their league. What makes it even more difficult is that often, the other players have to confirm whether or not an answer is correct. For example, one question is "Name 5 horror movies set in New York." Well, unless the other players all know for a fact that the person answering has given correct answers, they have to look them up. This happens a lot, because there are many questions like this. I think this is a superb game for hardcore horror fans, but even casual horror lovers are going to get buried. It's just not accessible to anyone that isn't a genre nut, at least, not if you want any chance at winning. I also think at $30, the game is wildly overpriced. It contains nothing but cards and a box, and the play mechanics aren't all that interesting for the price, either.

I thought I was a huge horror fan but these questions kind of make you feel like an idiot for how weirdly specific they are. Not really fun to play a game when you can't remember specific details in scenes from movies made decades ago that are like D List horror movies. I anticipated more pop culture horror but this is for like 40 year old dudes who live in their basement at their moms house level of horror knowledge.

I bought this as a Christmas gift for my husband. We are both HUGE horror buffs and we have a theme for gifts every year. This year it was games. I happened to see this game reviewed somewhere and immediately looked into it. I was a bit hesitant at the price, but thought, what the heck, it's a gift. We've played it twice already and we both really enjoyed it. The questions are all over the place, some very easy and some very hard. It also incites great conversation about forgotten movies or ones you haven't seen in a long time as it covers all years of horror. I would not recommend this game to anyone that doesn't know their horror movies. You may get a few questions right, but mostly you'll just feel left out. I'm very glad I bought this, I can see us playing this many times.

These are great for the horror movie fan, but layman fans beware - this isn't for those who aren't familiar with the genre intimately. Theme composers, rare films, and multi-title questions are all tricky. If you LOVE horror, this is your game.

Got this for me and another horror hound to play. Had a blast. Really easy and very broad spectrum of horror movies and themes covered. Perfect for a no-stress night of fun, game play. Pour a few drinks and prepare to have a great time. Highly recommended.

I had a blast playing this trivia game the other night with friends. Of course you have to have some knowledge of horror movies, but I would say that even the novice horror fan would enjoy it. For the more experienced horror movie fans out there like myself, there are still some very tough questions in the mix to challenge you. Even my wife who is not a horror fan at all enjoyed the game.

If you are a horror fan, you will enjoy this game. The questions are challenging and cover a wide variety of horror themed topics. There are also two different ways to play. I sincerely hope the creators make other versions or additional trivia cards in the future. Great game! Highly recommend!

Such a good buy. What ever kind of scary movies you're into, new flicks or the classics, they are probably in here somewhere. We use one of three games on game night: Settlers of Catan, Cards Against Humanity, or THIS. Just do it, and you'll thank yourself later. You will definitely learn a thing or two about your favorite genre... that is, assuming that horror is your favorite genre, since you are thinking about purchasing the game.
