A good compliment to King Robo Mickey
by RoboGriffey,Top Contributor: Harry Potter (5 out of 5 stars)

This piece is a very very nice accompaniment to Bandai's earlier Chogokin Gattai King Robo Mickey combiner robot. Overall it is a great piece, but is not without some issues.

The five individual characters are by far the best part of the set. They are astonishing in how good they look. Just a slight scifi robo styling on our beloved Toy Story friends. These individual characters will be kid magnets. Which is one of the sets issues. This is an adult targeted collectible display piece designed for gentle handling. It will not survive childs play.

The combined form shares a bit with King Robo Mickey as well. It is a bit cluttered and not as pleasing to look at as the individual component robots. In fact this is the rare case where you may be more likely to display the set unassembled. While Woody generally has a bit of Roy Rogers or Hopalong Cassidy feel to him in terms of his ultimate inspiration. The Robo Sheriff Star robot is a bit more Clint Eastwood "Man with no name". Much like its Mickey counterpart combined form feels a bit still and fragile. You're not going to get much posing out of it. It's a bit more "Legendary Megazord" rather than "Soul of Chogokin" in terms of its range of movement.

This set has the added bonus of fully combining with the just release Buzz Lightyear set, to make an even bigger and even more cluttered looking super combo robot.

Honestly the set is worth it just for the individual character bots alone. The combiner modes are just a bonus. It looks spectacular alongside King Robo Mickey and S.F. Robot Fujiko F. Fujiio. (The Doraemon robot combiner). If you are a fan of Japanese Disney collectables this is a must have to match you Mickey bot.

I love Toy Story. I love combiner robots. I love die cast robots. So what could go wrong? LOTS!

I purchased this piece to connect to the Buzz Lightyear set. While the Buzz set is a good stand alone and combining piece, Woody falls short. There is enough metal throughout, but Bandai missed the mark on ways to combine him in robot mode. He's flimsy and falls apart. You better pose him and forget him. When you combine him with Buzz, the connections are even worse. The parts to peg are ridiculously small and don't hold well at all. When you combine him with Buzz, you'll need to spent 15+ minutes to balance him, hope he doesn't fall apart, then just leave him alone. Don't even blow on him!!!!

I own hundreds of Transformers, MMPR, Chogokin robots. This by far felt like I was buying a knock off with poor connections. A total waste of money for the final combiner mode.

Great toy, but do not buy from Amazon

Beware when buying from Amazon.com

I ordered this from Amazon.com (not a third party seller) and when it arrived, it looked suspiciously like the toy was already opened. After a chat with customer support, I got a replacement the next business day. But that box also looked like it was already opened too!

box 1:
* top tape was broken
* missing protective film
* missing special comic book
* toys left partially transformed: the previous person gave up transforming Bullseye back to horse mode
* tab that holds the hat on Woody's head was broken

box 2:
* top tape was broken
* missing protective film
* missing instruction manual
* tab that holds the hat on Woody's head was broken

Between the two, there was a complete set. Both Slinky dogs had some paint scratches on a hinge. Woody's badge also falls off easily so make sure your toy comes with one (I imagine the original packing had tape to secure it). The tab that held the hat on Woody's head also broke. That seems to be a design fault so I kept it even though it arrived broken.

In gestalt/combined form, the parts have problems tabbing together, and the weight balance is really off so the toy leans.

A crazy idea for a toy that works brilliantly

Arrived in perfect condition, the packaging is all really lovely and the toys are made of surprisingly high quality materials. It's not quite as large as I had imagined so be sure to check the size listed before you buy if that's important to you. Though when I combine it with the Buzz Lightyear one it will surely be a towering behemoth.

The most pleasant surprise was the illustrated book that came with it, explaining how Bonnie was playing with a boy who had robot toys and they decided to sue their imagination to combine them. Really put this package above and beyond.

Broken piece

Bought this for my son for his birthday he opened it and the leg part to the horse was broken. He was so excited for it but I returned it because I spent a lot on this and would like one that isn't defected.

Bizarre and quirky, very high quality, only from Japan
by Kenny G (5 out of 5 stars)
February 8, 2018

This could be the most quirky Disney IP reimagining, only second to the Cho Gattai King Mickey Robo.

It's a bit of a bungle to combine, and feels somewhat fragile. It does have copious amounts of diecast. Mine went together well, but leans back a little when combined. I'm not sure if this is a widespread issue or if I just didn't combine mine correctly.

Other than that I think it's such a rad collectible!
