With three presets customized for white, red and port wines, it's simple and easy to use. Just insert the aeration rod into the glass of wine and the body of the tool rests atop the rim of the glass. Bought this for my gf who knows a ton about wine and has a pretty discerning taste when it comes to red wines. She was skeptical but tried it and was super impressed with how well it aerated the wine!

Fun unique gift idea

I purchased this as a gift for a friend's birthday in a wine themed basket. She really liked that it's portable as we visit wineries often. So far she said she is enjoying it and notices it really brings out the flavor of her wine. I appreciated that it came with batteries so she didn't have to worry about that part. I am looking forward to visiting her and seeing it in action! She did mention you need a bigger glass to use it but for us that's no issue!!

I received the aerator as a gift and love it. It's small enough to keep in my purse or take with me when I travel and does a nice job.

good product, nice to bring to restaurants or parties ...

good product, nice to bring to restaurants or parties to use. ONE HUGE ISSUE. The screw to take off, to replace the batteries is in a VERY tight/deep area. My wife bought one but we couldn't get the screw off and it STRIPPED easily so we couldn't change the batteries. We had to return hers. Manufacturer should change where this screw is and make it something easier to snap on or off. I have to be SUPER careful when I change batteries. Once the very small screw is stripped, you're screwed to replace the batteries...

Purchased as Christmas gift for co-worker, she loved it, could not believe something so simple changed the taste of wine to something more expensive. Would highly recommend for wine drinkers.

I now use it for every glass of wine I drink and enjoy it thoroughly

I did a test where I poured 2 glasses and just used the aerator on one. My boyfriend and I concurred. There was a noted difference in a glass poured that wasn't aerated with the Eparé and one that was. I now use it for every glass of wine I drink and enjoy it thoroughly. It's small enough to travel with and to bring to restaurants. I haven't compared it against other aerators but for the size and price and effect - it works for me.

Not one, but three broken devices. QC needs improvement.

*Edit 1: The company saw my original one-star review, and sent me a second unit, free, with an e-mail asking me to change my review if the second unit is to my liking. Surprisingly, the second unit was non-functional right out of the box. I've now updated with a video, and you can see the 2nd non-functional unit towards the end of the video.
*Edit 2: The company saw my above edit, and sent me a 3rd unit. Again, not functional, right out of the box!

I managed to put one working device together, harvesting parts from two non-functional units, however, after a few uses, the device doesn't work well, as the metal tube that is inserted into the hard plastic base is not air-tight so half of the air escapes at this connection as opposed to being routed to the end of the tube that is in the glass of wine.

I'm currently surprised to see 4 out of 10 people (so far) found my review helpful, and am wondering if bias is the cause for this, as my review is fairly detailed. I am also curious as to how many people might have pulled their negative reviews after receiving a 2nd item? Food for thought.

Unfortunately, the top of my video is cut off, where I show that the metal tube fits into the hard plastic, which does not create an air-tight seal. I'm now connecting the tube directly to the little internal pump. The rest of the video is fine, I'm sure you will get the picture, pun intended. :-)
*end of edits; original review below:

Arrived broken. I had to fix it just to get it operational. The tubing that was inside looked like it was left out in the sun, it was yellow and hard, and had split. Design is poor, causing crimp/split of the tiny tube inside. Wires were pinched during assembly, too. Pictures provided during my surgery of this device.

One of the pictures shows what the device looked like when I opened it up. I found that the tube wasn't connected, so when I tried to reconnect it, that is when I found out that the tube end was split and that's why it wasn't on to begin with. :-(

Of course, the tube was not long enough to cut the end off and reattach, so I tried (in vain) to use some new tubing that I had laying around. Also shown in my pictures are the crimped wires due to careless assembly at the factory from which this device came.

PS - The connection between the metal tube and the hard plastic hole it fits into is NOT air tight enough to blow enough air into the wine.

Very Effective Aerator: but with two minor complaints
by rack em up (4 out of 5 stars)
June 7, 2017

Very effective aerator, but I prefer longer aeration, so I have to cycle red wine a few times. I have a couple of minor complaints, though. The tube is too long for the body to rest on the rim of all but the deepest wine glasses, as is shown in the picture. This makes the device a little unstable when resting, unassisted, with only one side resting on the rim and the tube partially blocked against the wall of the glass. I don't see an easy solution to this if it is to bubble from the bottom of a variety of glass sizes except, possibly, to additionally include a shorter tube with the product. The pocket case will only hold one though. The other minor complaint is that to replace the battery, you need to remove a very small screw which requires an eye-glass-size phillips head screw driver. This limits the reliability of its pocket portability a tiny bit.

Excellent quality for the price

This is one of my absolute favorite things I've bought from Amazon in the last year. It works excellently to transform a cheap wine into something that tastes like you spent 5X what you actually spent. Absolutely excellent quality for the money. And the fact that it comes with batteries included is a huge bonus too. I'll be buying for all my friends.

There are a couple of things I would like to see in version 2/0
by Flynmom (3 out of 5 stars)

I tried this and it worked well. It is very compact and portable. The top button offers 3 selections red, white, and port. There are a couple of things I would like to see in version 2/0......

This item has a case type attachment on the bottom which holds the aerator spout - very handy.

I would like to see something type of protection for the top, because if the product is thrown in a tote bag or suitcase the top button can easily be pushed causing the battery to run down before the chance to use at your destination.

The second issue I have, though not a function issue,...(we live in such a litigious society and I understand the need to protect one's self and company so this will not likely change)....is the need to have a small screw driver to change the battery. Total PIA.

If a newer version were to have a case that encapsulated or protected the button that would warrant more stars.
