I have a kitchen full of Star Wars utensils, and I bought this to go along with them and grind up dried herbs for spices (yes, I know this is probably not the most common use for this). It does a good job with most things, getting them down to about the same size you would have if you bought them as dried spices. I had hoped that it would get things like bay leaves a bit finer, but that's OK. The only other draw back is that stuff doesn't fall through to a chamber where you can easily get to it. You have to use something (like the "pollen" scraper included) to get the stuff back out. Not difficult at all, but a touch more work.

But, hey, it looks like a little Death Star and matches my other Star Wars stuff, so it will stay where it is. For other uses, I don't think this would be a problem, and the lower half would do a good job of catching any really fine material like "pollen".

Bought this for a Christmas gift for my boyfriend and out of all of the things I got him this made him light up the most. It's well made, and well worth the price. The only downside he found was a small one: when you unscrew the screen from the bottom piece, it being a spherical item, it's a bit harder than his usual flat-bottom grinder to collect anything. He hardly even cares, though, he likes it so much. Honestly this is even worth getting just as a novelty item.

I'm a horrible human being and never leave reviews, but I had to after reading the email from Ted.The grinder is a really good quality grinder and a must have for Star Wars fans. I love the grinder, it does it's job and looks cool. It has a good weight and the magnet on it is super strong. I've dropped the grinder a couple times and it doesn't come apart. People thing it's a novelty Death Star and can't tell it's a grinder at all! It's perfect!

First of all, what a fantastic company! They sent my grinder without delay, in an easy to open package and spent about 20 minutes looking it over.. the craftsmanship was remarkably detailed and it seemed like everything was there.. since I purchased it as a gift for a friend I set it aside until I received an email from the company to make sure I was happy with my purchase! ! It even included a side note that I missed the brush inside!! I will definitely be buying from them again!!

Only had it for 2 days and the grinder fell out of the casing. Well i glued that back together and it wasnt a week later and a huge chunk of the side of it broke off for absolutely no reason. I didnt drop it or hit it on anything i was just grinding with it and it and it broke. The actual grinder doesnt even work that good on it.

Great novelty item. Seems like it would do the job. Got it as a gift for my brother in law who loves star wars. Smooth turn. It is small, so maybe one gram of flower. For the price and quality, I'd purchase again. As far as functionality there are other grinders that work just as well at a cheaper price; but that are this compact and look this cool for a star wars fan, I dont think you can beat it.
***update - storytime: I was so hype to show my sister what I got her husband, and it turns out she got this same exact gift for his birthday last year. He says it works GREAT, and is one of his favorite grinders. I offered to still give it to him so he could have a back up, but he knows times are tough on my end so unfortunately I'll probably be returning this amazing gift.

My Husband chose to open this gift early, and he Absolutely loves it! He tested it with grinding fresh Basil and Oregano, and this is PERFECT for anyone that loves cooking (and Star Wars of course.)

The Unboxing:

This product was packaged VERY well. We don't have the most...careful delivery drivers in my area, and this package arrived unharmed! You can re-use the box for storage, which is nice. It had foam on the inside to cushion the product, as well as a note, which we thought was great.

The Product:

There are a few scratches on the product, but it is nothing major to the design or functionality! This is a metal product, so that can be expected. The design is great - opening the box my husband immediately yelled "IS THIS THE DEATH STAR?!" It has a nice weight to it, and the cut of the inside is PERFECT. Previous purchases from Amazon came with Jagged edges on the teeth, and misprinted screens that were less than functional. It was quick and easy execution when in use, and didn't make that GOD AWFUL squeaking sound most new grinders do. 10/10 from us!

I bought this for my husband, he was super excited to receive it, however the matching paint job an attention to detail gets a 1-10. The top is completely inaccurate to the photos and wasn't painted properly which is a major disappointment. So on that note the looks get a 1. It's a sturdy grinder for his tobacco, but the screen is pointless, you has to grind your tobacco and then unscrew the bottom to be able to drop the tobacco in under the bottom bending half. I should have known based off the price. Don't buy, you can find far better that make the price more reasonable. Major thumbs down and disappointment to my husband.

This little guy is so cute. It's weighty, quick (and quiet) to grind, the teeth are sharp, and the pieces unscrew easily but not to where it's flimsy. It's a great quality product. The seller couldn't be nicer about customer satisfaction and with a lifetime guarantee I feel secure in my purchase. My only gripe is that the one I received looked beat up. I was anticipating a cleaner, smoother finish like what shows in some of the pictures but the texture of mine is bumpy and the black paint is patchy. Honestly though, it's still awesome and although a little different than shown, it just looks like it's survived some intergalactic brawls.
