Lick Those Cats Right Off Your Lawn
by Mavin Johnson (5 out of 5 stars)
December 17, 2017

I use this to chase cats away from my yard, or rather, the owners of said cats know not to let their cats loose in our neighborhood unattended. It turns out that there are ordinances in my city against indecent exposure, so I do need to wear a banana hammock while using this product outside of my home. I also think that the initial impression of a 280# man bearing down on an animal at top speed, mewling and slobbering, with a slab of silicone dangling from his mouth may initially be off-putting for some cats. But, once I have wrestled them to the ground and the clawing and biting has subsided, I can begin licking the cat until its horrified owner returns home from work to ask what I am doing. Obviously, the cat was on my property, and I can lick anything that I want on my property. Plus, I am using protection, as this silicone barrier prevents the spread of disease. I'm often told, "Well, that's MY cat!" To which I say, "Then get your own Licki brush, because this is obviously the reason that YOUR cat keeps wandering onto MY lawn." I rarely see the cat again. In fact, my neighbors make a conscious effort to avoid eye contact, which is an added bonus.

Licki Left A Wake Of Devastation
by TwoDogSAHM (1 out of 5 stars)

I got this as a gag gift for a "friend", and she tried it on her cat. My.... I mean... HER cat attacked her face while she was giving the brush a test run on him, and now she has some horrible scratches across her nose that she feels very uncomfortable explaining how she got them. She also made this attempt while on her balcony & the person she's been trying to catch the eye of happened to walk by when it all occurred, so she's fairly certain she will die single, with many cats, and a Licki brush, at this point. She feels confident that her cat did not like the Licki brush, and that he would give it only one star, if he was able to write this review.

I REALLY wanted this to be awesome...

I had been waiting excitedly for this for to be available since I first heard about it nearly 9 months ago. I put up with a lot from people making fun of it and me for being excited about it. I didn't care who laughed if it made my babies happy. Over time I got very defensive. I couldn't mention it without lots of interesting comments. It is pretty expensive for a chunk of silicone, but I understand manufacturing issues with a new product. It looks silly, but silly is fun. The idea if licking a cat just seems strange, but since when is strange a bad thing? I would do just about anything for my babies. I SO MUCH wanted my cats to love it! I would show everyone who laughed! My cats would like it. I would like it. And everyone would wish that they had one, too. Then I came out of my little dream world. It feels awkward in my mouth. It takes odd positioning for my entire upper body to use it. Very difficult to use smoothly. I tried to get used to it before cats even saw it so that it would not be awkward for them. I finally tried it on the first cat. He will let anyone do anything to him. I had hoped that the nervous cat would see the tolerant cat and both would be fine with it. Cat number 1yelled and hid in the closet. Cat number 2 went under the bed. Not yet willing to give up, I even tried it on our dog. He tolerated it for about 2 minutes then grabbed it, took off, and buried it in the back yard. All 3 animals were mad and avoided me for days. On top of everything else, my back and neck hurt from using it. I really wanted this to be the next best thing, but it just traumatized the animals. I hope that one of these days my cats and dog will love me again.

It grooms a cat decently, but it is akward to use and my cat hates it.

I'll start by admitting that, once in a while, I lick my cat even without a "Licki", so I'm probably the target audience for this item. Unfortunately, the Licki misses the target, IMO. I'm a relatively large guy, but I found the giant tongue awkward to use in my mouth (it was much better just held in the hand like the KONG ZoomGroom, Cat Grooming Brush that it was patterned after), both due to the size and the floppiness and angle. I could live with that, especially since the brush does do a decent job removing hair (in that it is better than the Kong), if it weren't for the fact that my cat hates the Licki (used either way) more than any brush I have tried yet.
While cats are individualistic and my cat hating the brush doesn't guarantee yours will, I suspect that the issue is that the "teeth" of the brush are too firm and pointy (The Kong is similarly firm but not pointy, and the other competing pointy product, the [Soft Silicone Pins] CELEMOON Ultra-Soft Silicone Washable Cat Grooming Shedding Massage / Bath Brush - Safe & No Scratching any more - Purple (which I recommend instead) is much softer.)

Pros:
-The concept is worth a few chuckles, so it may be okay as a gag gift
-It does groom a cat decently (especially when used by hand and not in your mouth)
-it might make an okay teething toy for your cat... (see picture)
-it is a neat concept

Cons:
-My cat hates it.
-expensive
-"licking" action is rather awkward

It's better in concept than in execution

My kid wanted this. It's better in concept than in execution. The cats hated it and ran away.

On my first attempt my cat tried to bite my face.

I bought it as a partial gag gift, but it's so much worse than I imagined it would be. The thing is enormous. Even against my giant melon head it is ridiculous. The cats give me the appropriate look for having this dumb thing in my mouth. It's a look of "what do you think you're going to do with that, you idiot."

Bought this as a gag gift for my wife. She refused to use it. You'd think everyone would want to lick their cat.

Lick Your Cat & Get Fur In Mouth
by Connor Pope (2 out of 5 stars)

Haha, this is just a gag gift, I don't think its really meant to be used on your cats. My cats... they think it is weird. I also get lots of hair in my mouth. Was I just bamboozled? I can't tell :).
