I bought this tool as a I had a number of large 70+ foot tall pines (cut into thirds) that I needed to cut down to 16" logs. My Fiskars Hookaroon (my favorite for moving firewood logs around) just wouldn't work for this task. This tool is extremely well built in that it is very solid. It is chunky and heavy. However, if you are working with big wood 24+ inch diameter and 10+ foot lengths, this probably isn't the tool for you as the Cant Hook extension is too short.

There were a number of times when I was trying to roll 15 foot sections (22- 28 inch diameter) where I couldn't get enough leverage due to the length of the bar. I also found that that the Timberjack extension, while well built, was too long given the short length of the cant hook extension. As such I couldn't elevate the pieces I really wanted to. I would have been better off buying a large cant hook and separate timberjack.

Additionally, due to the heavy build quality of the whole thing I would never use this to move already split firewood. It is just too heavy. The extremely lightweight Fiskars Hookaroon is my go to for that kind of task and the whole tool costs less than the log ox hookaroon extension which is ridiculously expensive.

In summary this tool is to overbuilt and heavy for lightweight jobs and too small for the really beefy jobs. I thought spending the extra money for something that was compact and and had multiple uses was a good Idea. After using it, that was the wrong decision. However, if Log Ox came out with a cant hook extension that was 18 to 24 inches or longer, that would totally change my take on this tool.

We heat the house with firewood; ergo, that means I'm out in the woods a lot trying to cut up enough to stay a few seasons ahead. This tool is solidly built, and importantly to me, it's made in the USA. If you are cutting up small trees and want to keep your saw out of the dirt, this is the tool to have in your assortment. It also makes picking up the pieces and tossing them into your truck or trailer a much easier task. Well worth the money.

Wow, this tool is a monster!! I bought the multi-tool for the farm to help with firewood and just got back from the farm and felt so strongly about its performance, that I dug up the review page.

It handled 20-inch logs with ease and allowed me to tip up the logs to cut them without using the tractor bucket. It is built really well and more importantly, it's made in the USA!!

It may seem a bit pricey but then, it's a bit more tool. It is now standard equipment on my farm logging rig...Nicely done LogOX!!!!

The Greatest Tool Ever!

The LogOX 3-in-1 MultiTool has literally changed my life. I am a 60 year old woodsman with all the problems of a life of very hard work. Back, shoulders, hips, SI joints and arthritis ect.,ect. you get the picture. My problem is I love the woods and I love working in the woods and I want to die working in the woods. That was getting harder and harder as the constant bending over was killing me. Enter the LogOX into my life and all that changed. The first day I used the Log-OX my wife came home and saw the seven loads of freshly cut firewood and was totally amazed. Normally I would cut one or two loads and spend the next three days in bed in horrible pain.

My advice is to take the time to watch the YouTube videos on how to properly use the tool. The LogOX is not like any other tool you may have used and does have a bit of a learning curve to it. Watch the videos and take your time and once you used to the proper technique you will be amazed. Your production goes way up and your back feels great.

The LogOX is extremely well built. I have put it through the paces with extremely heavy and large wood. You can give it all you have when lifting a large log and you know your not going to land on your face with a broken handle. The LogOX is unbelievable around a splitter or chopping block. At the end of the day you feel like you had somebody helping you. You have a pick-up load of tools in a very easy compact way to get them to where your working. The Log-OX is very easy to change up as your needs change.

The Log-OX company is THE BEST. They are a USA company that is proud of and stands behind their products. The products are very competitively priced for a product that stands so far from the competition.

A Useful Tool

Multi-tools often don't do each job as well as a single tool. LogOX has this problem. I do like the Log Hauler with a D handle by itself. Works great. You need two wrenches to take off the Timberstand and it works better if you remove the pole type handle. Since this tool is used outdoors you have to be careful not to lose these items. The Cant Hook works OK, especially if you remove the Timberstand. I really bought this for the Timberstand so that I could roll logs over onto a stand to cut them and not have to dead lift them onto a stand. The hook always flops loose when I use the Timberstand. Because the log will lean to one side, the kerf (cut) will close as you cut it. This can trap and stall the blade. It is much better if the kerf opens as you cut it. A double Timberstand (which I would like to see them sell) could do this. I would be fine if it was just a Timber Stand. All three items work better individually. See video.

Very Sturdy; Some Shortcomings

Most important thing to note is that this is extremely sturdy and well made. Unfortunately that inevitably means that it is also fairly heavy and probably add 10 lbs to the weight of any log you might be trying to lift. As well, it is really designed for small to medium diameter logs-anything over about 12" would be a problem (see photo below). Having said that, I was able to position logs that probably weighed about 100-200 lbs for cutting (something that would have been impossible unaided) and from that, admittedly limited, perspective it is invaluable..

So my husband is in his later 60's and still working out in the woods putting up our own fire wood . I seen a review by Swedish Homestead that looked good . I bought this for husband for Christmas, and after 45 years together he was finally thrilled over the perfect gift . He says it makes the work so much easier , no more bending and stooping all afternoon , no heavy lifting and dragging . It's such a work saver and back saver . The Log Ox is very heavy duty and durable .

This tool paid for itself the 1st time I used it. It really is a back saver. I carried all logs over to the splitter using the LogOx and never bent over. I used it as a jack to cut some of the logs and I also used it to roll over a 3ft log. This is a solid and well built tool that is a must have if you are working up large trees and highly recommended for even smaller trees.

I love this tool and wish I had one years ago!

My job has always been to pickup and stack the logs as my husband bucks up the trees. It's back breaking work and many times the logs are too heavy for me to pickup.

With me not being a "spring chicken" anymore, with this tool I am able to pickup the logs and stack them on the pile without bending and putting strain on my back. Logs too heavy for me to lift are now a breeze for me to move out of the way as my husband continues to cut wood without having to stop and clear away the heavy one's for me.

This tool is a must have for anyone who cuts firewood.

Absolutely OUTSTANDING product! This is well made, VERY sturdy and exceptionally well-designed. It's super easy to change the parts on and off as needed without tools. I've only played with this so far, but I can already tell that this will be invaluable when the real work hits. My only disappointment is that I didn't get one of these years ago! Even if you do only occasional work, but wish you had an extra hand sawing logs, this tool is for you!
