Bottle Opener is Completely Useless
by Bobby Sprinkles (4 out of 5 stars)

A cool little compact tool that attaches onto a little plate that can serve as either a belt buckle or as a belt clip. The blade, scissors, and 3 sided file/small flat-head are all locking (these tools are colored gray). The medium flat-head and phillips-head are not locking and are colored black. These black tools also function as an unlocking feature to the locking tools by pulling them out about halfway. Its should also be noted that the physical packaging states that this multi-tool has 12 tools which include a bottle opener. However, the "bottle opener" is completely useless. It does not work at all. It's a poor design that is 0% effective. In fact, the SOG website has removed the bottle opener feature from the Sync II tools list and states that it has 11 tools, not 12. Other than that, it's a good little compact tool for everyday use and it frees up your pockets. Would have been 5 stars if it weren't for the useless bottle opener.

Almost Great, but OK.
by MJC (3 out of 5 stars)

Glad to have this, but it could use some pretty basic improvements, since this is version ii.

Nice size and very cool looking belt buckle. Knife is reasonably sharp for my needs. Pliers seem sufficiently sturdy. Tool goes into and out of belt buckle holder nicely - for easy access.

Two things that need improvement: (1) As other reviews around the WWW will indicate, the belt prong is not angled, so it tends to unhook itself from the belt. Great multipurpose belt buckle, but it needs to function as a belt buckle! It will fall open on you. Wearing it a little tighter than I wear other belts helps. (2) The bottle opener is very difficult to use. Seems to be made for miniature bottle caps, not regular size beer bottles. Expect to spend as much time opening the bottle as drinking its contents. Also, expect to have it slip off the cap with force in a way that might scrape some skin from your fingers.

Great EDC tool
by Amazon Customer (5 out of 5 stars)

The versatility of carry a tool in your belt buckle is unbeateable, doesn't take any space on your pockets or backpack, feels sturdy, the tools are easy to access, the blade looks thin but does the job, keeps in place during the day, doesn't feel loose in the buckle.

Here are some picks to compare it to other common edc tools

Tool is great and very useful
by Jeff Wright (1 out of 5 stars)

Tool is great and very useful. However, the attachment to the actual belt buckle is lacking to say the least. Have not had this for a week yet and the the pliers have dropped off of the buckle several times. Fortunately I was able to find it each time except the last time. Now I am left with a wired looking and useless belt buckle. I am not paying another $60 for another set only to have the same thing happen again.

This is a great gadget that every tool lover will enjoy
by Chef Gene (4 out of 5 stars)

This is a great gadget that every tool lover will enjoy. My only issue and why it is 4 stars, is that it has a small knife, which means that you can't wear it through the airport. Given that the main reason I want this on me is to have fliers and screwdrivers on me at all times, it would be great for them to either offer another version without a knife or to turn the knife into a serrated saw, which can go through TSA.

Could be amazing
by Shaddii (2 out of 5 stars)

They really need to make some changes to this and then it could be great.

First and most important. The nail file on this thing is a joke. If this is the best nail file you can come up with i suggest you don't even bother. I have bought nail files for $1 that were 20 times better.

Second, Get rid of the locking mechanism for the tools. The look is difficult enough to undo that it puts me off using the tools at all.

Third the scissors need to be better. they are ok but not great. I love the scissors that are on my victornox. If you did something closer to that it would be great.

Fourth, the wire cutters should be a replaceable carbide definitely not built into the knife frame.

Fifth, the hook on the buckle needs to be rethought. It turns back so sharply that it is difficult to use if you like to wear your pants tight.

sixth, the tube where the belt attaches to the buckle, you should put some lock tite on the screws that hold the tube in place because my buckle fell apart while i was wearing it.

I could think of other improvements but if you changed those 6 things this tool would be amazing.

The buckle itself is quite sturdy and mechanism that locks knife to buckle is simple and effective. You definitely got that part right.

Belt clip screws are a weak point
by J. Alexander (3 out of 5 stars)

I really like the tool and will be putting it on a belt as soon as the belt arrives, the spring clip screws after removal cannot be put back on, only a thread or two contacts and they pulled away and cannot re-attach, I would return it but if I used this clip and it broke free while riding a motorcycle I would loose everything except the clip, having it on a belt should be the most secure and the only wat I will use it, the bottle opener does need to go back to the drawing board as well but over all I like the rest of the tools and the belt buckle part of it.

Poor Packaging
by M. St John (4 out of 5 stars)
June 20, 2018

Packaging: I was not aware this was coming from Homegoods. Don't get me wrong, I love a bargain! And Homegoods is a great place for great bargains. However, this was a gift. When it arrived the packaging was nearly torn open as if it had been opened partially then put back on the shelf. There was nothing about the packaging that said "new, never opened" but rather "pulled-out-of-a-garage-for-a-yard-sale kind of new" that was very disappointing. Had I been at a store I could have picked better.

Product: My husband said it was great to have for his fishing trip and liked that it could be either a belt buckle or side clipped on. It is sturdy and quite useful!

It's nice not to have a tool in your pocket
by patty (4 out of 5 stars)
August 23, 2017

It's neat and it hasn't fallen off the buckle after 2 weeks daily use but the buckle where it go into belt hole needs to be more pronounced because it has popped off the belt 3 times. I'm 6ft 220 stocky build and I find it is a little big and uncomfortable when your sitting or leaning over

Very well made and comfortable.

Hands down great product. I was very reluctant to believe this would be worth ordering for the price and it was in ever way! Very sturdy and well made. belt clip holds tool in place perfectly while functioning as a real belt buckle. Most practical multi tool I've ever owned. I don't see how anyone could give this thing less than 5 stars.
