Saw these on "The List" and went to the website, they are charging $14.99 each. Amazon is almost half price.

Works as advertised. My husband was the first to use. He tried to open a package, complained because it didn't seem to cut but the cut is so skinny you don't even know you've succeeded! The little knife isn't long enough to cut cardboard but for letters, box tape and even those pesky plastic packages, works like a charm.

We bought 4 because of the price difference.

Easy package opener

Right off the bat I'm going to say the reason for 4 stars vs 5 stars. The demo showing this safety cutter on the forefinger likely is that of a man. As a woman, I had to keep changing fingers until I found the right fit. It wasn't perfect, but turns out my middle finger was the best fit.

The really good thing is it does just what it says it will do. You would have to work pretty hard to cut yourself as the part you use to cut with is not a blade but a smooth surface of a kind of hard plastic with the very tip of the cutting end is tapered to a point and that is what does the cutting. It zips right through packing tape but as the description states, don't try it on the cardboard your package came in. I can hardly wait to try it on those dang clamshell packages.

It broke within 5 minutes

The latex tore within 5 minutes after I put it on my finger, and the blade either broke or receded into its housing. I am female and I don't have huge sausage fingers. We only cut paper with it.

What a Piece of Junk!

I happened to open this package while sitting at the kitchen table with my husband. He was going through the mail...and I was trying to demonstrate what a cool thing I had ordered. I couldn't cut through ANY of the pieces of paper that had come through the mail...not even the newspaper inserts! The following day, my friend stopped by...I had ordered this group of three safety cutters so that I could share one with her...thinking that my attempts were not good, I had her try to cut something...ANYTHING...we tried on several different types of paper...no luck. Don't waste your money...the cutters went into the trash!

Cuts only thinner plastic

Bought primarily to cut open items encased in plastic. Product cuts through thinner material such as packaging that bacon comes in well but not the thicker plastic packaging such as would be on a pack of AAA batteries

Needs cutting board to work

Works if you lay it on a cutting board. Doesn't work like a letter opener, especially if you are at all shaky.
