This is AWESOME! My 9 year old son LOVES this thing (I do too ;) ). It is a little loud, but man it is awesome. No need to bend over and plug in the trees. I have this plugged into a power strip that lights my tree and mantle. It works beautifully! Oh and has great range. The receiver is plugged into the wall behind a cabinet and my son has even gone up to his room (which is right above the room with the tree in it) and turns it on and off, giggling the entire time!

I loved this but only gave it a 4 because upon opening up the battery end, the gold color of the wand is just wrapped in cheap paper type material so it tore so right off the start at the base and needed to tape it. :( It's not painted gold.....But other than, that the grandkids loved the concept of it and it was so awesome that a bought a second one for my other tree!

OMG! I have fallen in love with this item! My kids loved it because they got to take turns cutting on and off the Christmas lights. Some days they just liked hearing the sound of it going off. It sounds like a real wand and I will be using it again next year and hopefully years to come.

Took it out of the box and tested it with a light but haven't officially used it for Christmas. This is going to be a lot of fun. The plug-in box is surprisingly sturdy the wand itself, however, is a little cheap (hence the 4 stars). It's definitely a remote and not a toy (it wouldn't hold up the being played with very well). There's an on and off switch on the wand and that's what turns the plug-in on and off. When the switch is in use the star lights up and "˜magical' chimes sound. I will be using this for multiple holidays/events year round (Halloween, St Patrick's day, etc.).

Poorly made

I bought this for my son who absolutely loved it! However after the first few tries of turning it on, it would only make the sound and the wand would not light up, nor did the tree. I changed the batteries and it's just that this is such a poorly made product (photos to prove it). The star easily came off and the wires detached. Especially for $30+, I demand a replacement wand. Please send another wand ASAP!

I ordered the wand at the end of November and waited until now to review because I wanted to see if it still worked a month later. The answer is YES! This wand has been a huge hit with our 3 year old granddaughter as well as most of the adults too! We treat it as a special wand and keep it out of reach when we are not in the room to supervise. You should see her face when she presses the button on the wand and the tree lights up! She glows as bright as the lights! I highly recommend this wand for anyone who wants to add a little "magic" or something extra to the holidays.

Broke within a week..

My mom has had one of these for 3 Year's now and LOVES it. I've even bought them for gifts for other people. But i bought this one for myself and it broke within a week for no reason. Maybe try to find a different seller? Could have just been a fluke though

This was an impulse purchase and turned out to be one of the favorite items at Christmas this year. My 2 daughters, 8 and 11, would rush to be the first one to turn the tree on each day. So much fun. I am probably going to plug this into a lamp or something else so we can use it throughout the year.

Love it! Gave it to my Aunt who was totally in love with it as she has lots of kids and family around. There seemed to be a difference in my wand and hers in that she could move from room to room and even upstairs from the christmas tree downstairs and the wand still controlled the lights great. Mine did not do as well. It was less predictable in working once I went out of the room. But I still love it.

Works well but cheap plastic

I have two girls who absolutely LOVE this (we use it for the xmas tree lights). Works very well and simple setup. However, it is cheap plastic and given the amount of use and abuse it receives from kids, it breaks easily. Ours still works but the top star cracked off.
