Fly-genocide device.

This thing is stunningly effective. It's like a fly genocide device. I live in a normal, urban residential area, and in just a few weeks it has caught and killed HUNDREDS of flies. I would have been happy if there were a couple dozen in there, but the "death layer" is THREE-INCHES THICK with fly corpses. As I type this, at least 20-30 of them are flying around inside, waiting for their end of days. At least a dozen more are window shopping from the outside, and will certainly crawl to their doom before the day is done. I feel fairly certain that all of the death is attracting more flies...TO THEIR DEATHS. This thing is out of control...I'm fairly certain that an entire generation of flies has been put to its grave.

It's so disgusting it's awesome

Ok, so one day I walk outside to take out the garbage. I open the can and I see what can only be described as a colony of maggots. I almost threw up. So after a lot of bug killer and bleach, I decided to take the fight to the flies. The other thing I should mention is that I have two medium sized dogs that use our backyard for their business. It is cleaned at least 1x a week so we have flies out there too.

Let's fast forward to last week. The traps arrive, I read the directions, then place one of them outside to see what happens. PLEASE NOTE that you need to hang these on something that is sturdy enough so they want fall over.

Day 1 - nothing really, maybe 1 or 2 flies get in there.

Day 2 - same thing....maybe a few more get in there....I move the bag around to get mixed up again

Day 3 - whoooaaaa....at least 50 of the F'ers are in there and probably more.

Day 4 - Humans 1 | Flies 0. they may have won the battle for the garbage can, but the war is not going their way

Summary - i hate flies. I hate maggots more. This may go down as the great fly genocide of 2018 and im good with that.

No more flys!!!

Incredible!!!

I was annoyed by three or four flies on my patio so I ordered this, expecting to catch about a half dozen flies. The first day I set it up, I probably caught a hundred flies. Now I would think there must be a thousands of flies in the trap, along with many blobs of larvae, and still they come.

It does stink - no question about that - but I am no longer annoyed by flies. Any fly that ventures into my back yard goes immediately to the trap.

It is utterly - disgusting to look at

It took me perhaps 2 minutes to set it up. And it really did take about 6 or 8 days to begin working. At first, I was wondering if we got jacked. But now? It is utterly - disgusting to look at. Seriously. There are at least 30 to 40 living flies in it at any given time, and hundreds - if not thousands of dead ones in the bag. It must be attracting flies from the rest of the neighborhood as well. Maybe other countries. I've already ordered a second one, and we've had this one for maybe 3 weeks. NOTE: Hang it in sunlight, if you can; seems to be what "activates" the thing. Good luck. you WILL be grossed out, but you wont see flies anywhere else. Anywhere....

Fantastic trap

I live in a residential neighborhood and keep four backyard chickens. While I keep everything pretty tidy, there have always been lots of flies around the coop and enclosed run. They also free range in my backyard and love my patio so of course poop all over said patio. Despite daily cleaning & hosing down it was attracting flies. I hung one of these just outside their enclosed run. As directed it's at head height and in the sun. After about 4 - 5 days the flies found it! I knew I had flies i my backyard but didn't realize this many! My patio is now fly free. This works great! It's been catching flies now for about 7-10 days and going strong. I've added a bit more water as it evaporates but doesn't seem to reduce the potency. Great buy.

If you have a fly problem, here's your easy solution!

These are really nasty after a while....but that's the point. They attract flies like crazy! Our landlord did some work on the property and we had a porta-potty on our front lawn for 5 weeks during the hottest part of the summer. It smelled so bad that I think all the flies from a 5-mile radius came to our yard, making our backyard pretty much un-usable. I put up two of these and within two weeks, they were FULL of flies. I put them in the far corner away from where we hang out to keep the flies contained in that area. They DEFINITELY worked for us. So thankful. I hope to never need them again, but if I do, I won't hesitate to reorder. I'm also thinking of ordering a couple to keep in my camping gear since you never know how campgrounds will be....

Works really will, going to be full and need to be replaced faster than I expected.

I ordered this flycatcher along with the "Big Bag" one at the same time and put them both up. The attached picture shows the Redtop catcher after 4 days. I was going to complain that it is going to become too full to be effective in a very short time, but that doesn't seem like a valid criticism. The "big bag" was a lot less effective, but it was in a different location so that might be the problem.

Anyway, this wasn't hard or messy to setup and it works really well. I will buy more.

Seeing is Believing

We live near dairies, so you can imagine the flies. We like to spend time outside playing ping pong, but the flies chased us back inside. We sat inside and watched the flies take over our patio every summer. Now, thanks to these unspeakably disgusting bags, we are the masters of our patio once more. Sometimes, between ping pong games, we walk over to the disgusting bag and silently marvel at the fly carnage. Very satisfying. Highly recommended.

Works great

This was so simple, it was crazy. We had some flies in our home, no wonder when my wife opens the sliding glass door and leaves it open all day. Anyway, we looked at several types, and finally decided to try this one. Those unrolled sticky try strips didnt do the job, so we got this and wow, maybe on the 3rd day we saw HUGE results, its been over a week, and there is literally 6 inches of dead flies in that sucker. The smell of the powder added to it smells like old fish, but it IS the bait afterall. We placed it at the end of our covered deck to keep any flies away from the open door. I added water to it once and will again later when it gets cooler. Seems the warmer it is, the more flies, so when its colder outside, its easier to add water to it. Bait powder doesnt just disolve so keep that in mind, no worries, i have gone to it and squished the bag every few days to mix it, but i cant say if that does any good or not, its always got flies in it. Seems i got every fly in the neighborhood coming over.

Worth every penny

We have 3 mini horses, and the flies were crazy. I put one trap in the center of our 2 acres, one trap at the top of the hill near the house, but far enough away that the smell, which is terrible, was far away. Within a week, no flies... Anywhere, except in the trap, chocked full. None on the horses backs, none in my face, clean and clear air. I would say this lasted about 3 months, and they are starting to come back, so I'm back to buy more of these. They work perfectly, better than I would have imagined.
