• What is the wind resistance of Garden Igloo? Under proper conditions Garden Igloo withstands strong wind conditions (Beaufort scale 6 - approx. 31 mi/h.
• What is Garden Igloo's snow load capacity? Garden Igloo can bear up to max. 90 lbs of snow. If the snow on the dome reaches 6", you should remove it with a broom or similar tool in order to prevent damage to Garden Igloo.
• What is the UV/heat resistance of Garden Igloo? Garden Igloo's structure is stable between temperatures ranging from -4°F to +140°F and withstands exposure to sunlight of up to UV index 5.
• How can I store the winter garden cover at the end of the season? First clean the cover from both inside and outside with a microfiber cloth. Then fold it properly from inside out. Put it in its box and store it at room temperature for the next season.
• Do they get hot in summer? Like a greenhouse, the temperature in the Gardenigloo will always be several degrees hotter than the external temperature; therefore it will get hot in summer. Keeping all the air vents open will help to reduce the heat inside. However, during sunny spring - summer days, when the outside temperature is above 50°F, the interior air temperature can rise to excessive heat levels (+140°F).
• Do they stay warm in winter? In winter, close the windows and the dome will heat up several degrees, especially when it is very cold but the sun is out. It is also ideal for cutting out the wind chill factor. It will require roughly 40 % less heating in winter than a standard greenhouse due to the geodesic shape. This is due to its low volume for its base area and the fact that its surface is always at right angles to the sun?s rays even in low winter sun, heating it up naturally.
• Do I need a solid base or foundations? Gardenigloo can be installed both on soft and hard surfaces. On hard surfaces like concrete, wood deck, etc., use the metal clamps with suitable screws. For softer grounds like soil, lawn, etc., use the provided base weight kit to fix your Gardenigloo to the ground.

Not a good quality product. I can not recommend this product because it does not look like the picture. It is wrinkled and not smooth like the picture shown. Also a very difficult return procedure and i'm still trying to return the item. I purchased this item based on the other review and I wish I did not because it's expensive.

Great concept, only the design was not quite there. There is no screen behind the two window pieces or the door piece, n the two window pieces could not be zipped all the way to the end. Bad air flow n open or even inviting to Marquita attacks therefore, I don't see how could kids could play in there or adult resting there as advertised. It is stuffy in there with both window pieces open n door open to the masquitos. Took two people hours to set it up, then a key part was missing from delivery.

A great place to live

When my home was foreclosed on I was able to live in this quite comfortably in the back yard of my foreclosed home. With the solar panels I was able to live in comfort and when my home was purchased at auction I found the igloo very simple to disassemble and reassemble. I now live by a creek behind a Starbucks so bonus Free Wi-Fi! I would highly recommend this item!

We bought one after we went to the Watergate hotel and rented one of their igloos for the evening. Last year, we set it up in our front yard in DC and this year, we just moved it to our backyard in Williamsburg. The set up is alittle time consuming the first time, maybe less than 2 hours. The second time, it was less than 30 minutes. We absolutely love it for the winter. Update: For the summer, we bought the mosquito net. In Williamsburg, the temperatures can reach 99 degrees and we live in a heavily wooded area next to the water. The mosquito net and a few fans inside the Igloo have allowed us to enjoy summer as much as we have enjoyed the winter. I really have enjoyed our garden Igloo.

Overpriced and such a waist of money. It's a Giant kite once a wind storm comes up. Great idea but such a disappointment. Completely fell apart in less then 6 months.
