Gaming Keyboard? - Doubtful
by Luhgnut (4 out of 5 stars)
January 10, 2019

First off, the keys are VERY SLICK. I find typing to have slowed down, because your fingers keep sliding around on the keyboard. - There are no tactile indicators that you are on the WASD keys. The F key has a tactile bump to find the home-row if you are typing, but for Gaming, it's needless. So on one hand, you have a keyboard that's more tuned for general typing, but have keys that are smooth and hard plastic, so your fingers slide all over.

Software is completely baffling and had to go to a youtube to figure out how to do profiles. Software is pretty weak as far as user interface goes. But not intuitive.

Positive note, is that it feels more responsive when playing than my Steelseries. But unsure if I can get past these keys being slick as snot.

Tested both K66 and K68
by B. Seward (3 out of 5 stars)

I first fell in love with Cherry MX Reds after purchasing the K66 (No lights). I then tried the K68 (RGB with dust and spill resistance cover) and there is an obvious difference.

The actuation force on the K66 felt lighter. The K68 FELT heavier when pressing down. What i remember from the K66 keyboard is the ease of bottoming out the keys and hearing that addicting sound you get from reds. Not with the K68... not pleasing at all. The cover dampens the sound and ruins the experience for any mechanical keyboard enthusiast. According to reviews, the key caps shouldn't be interfering with the rubber cover. It's probably best just to get into the habit of not setting your drink next to the keyboard... and just go with the non spill/dust resistant version.

Amazing keyboard, highly recommended, 4.5 / 5.
by Alex (4 out of 5 stars)

It's my first mechanical keyboard, and i can say im in love.

It types amazing, being my first Cherry MX Switch i've used ever, it feels really great. Packaged really well, shipped with no issues.

I can game really well with it, i'd say is a nice upgrade from my old Logitech membrane keyboard. QUICK AF response time.

The key caps fit my fingers JUST RIGHT, if you have big fingers i'd not suggest this keyboard as the key caps may be small for some, making you push several keys at once.

I do get a bit tired and my wrist hurts a little bit, i'm sure that will pass as i get used to it though, and the included wrist rest feels ok, it helps.

I do not give it a 5 star because 1, it wasn't shipped in another box, it was just plain showing all the specs and what the product was, and i did not like that knowing people could be curious... and damage something.

And 2, the "P" key cap has a little paint (i guess) flaw on it, not a big deal, can't even see it or feel it when typing, but i did expect a flawless finish on this.

Oh and a minor detail, the "0" key didn't fully light up when i started using it, i had to press the key for it to light up, but that could be my Power Supply just oofing on my since the problem is now gone.

Over all, an amazing purchase for 80$, so far no major complaints and i don't think i'll have one in the near future. If you are looking for a first Mechanichal keyboard, this is it! GET IT NOW! :3

I'll leave a picture of how sexy my setup looks now, and the P key cap too.

Keyboard broke within three months of use
by C. Walker (1 out of 5 stars)
April 19, 2019

Keyboard was okay mainly bought it for the water resistance and because I trusted Corsair. Ive had it for barely three months and its already giving me major issues. The "d" key on the keyboard stopped working completely out of nowhere which is extremely frustrating. I have no way to fix this. Keys feel kind of cheap and are way to sensitive causing me to accidentally press buttons I don't mean to while gaming. This is something that's never been an issue for me with other keyboards. Would not recommend I want a refund.

Not the crispiest keyboard
by Craig (3 out of 5 stars)
April 28, 2019

Was very excited about this keyboard. I'm a mechanical keyboard noob, but the ones i've tried in store feel amazing. I ordered this keyboard because I generally trust the corsair brand for quality control. On receiving this keyboard and trying it out I was underwhelmed. It's actually quiter than my membrane dell keyboard but generally lacked the ultra crisp low activation keys I wanted. I would consider this maybe a modest upgrade from a membrane keyboard but I was generally underwhelmed. Sending it back.

bad keyboard
by Nathan Gretzinger (2 out of 5 stars)
July 22, 2019

Only had this a few days and hate it already. Some keys (semi-colon seems particularly bad) are so sensitive that they activate simply from the pressure of your hands resting on the keyboard even when it seems to you like you aren't really even touching them. Advertised as silent and it's one of the loudest keyboards I've ever owned, not only making a particularly loud keystroke (which I must admit sounds kind of satisfyingly old-fashioned, like the Doogie Howser typing sounds) sound but also another kind of tinny sound that sounds like a;;;;;;;;;;;; spring recoiling. Had a connectivity problem;;;;;;;;;;this morning ;; (See what I mean about the semi-colon! Left them in for illustrative effect) and wouldn't work for about 30 seconds after booting up when the mouse was working fine. The cheap keyboard that came with your PC would be an improvement over this thing. Fortunately, I can foist this piece of junk off on my 14 year old son and take back my old run-of-the-mill $10 keyboard and make him deal with it. 2 of 5 because I guess you could live with it if you had to; just have to train yourself to actively hold your fingers up, completely out of contact with the board. The palm board is nice I guess.

Best keyboard used
by Andy (5 out of 5 stars)
March 13, 2019

Can't say how many keyboards I've gone through. I am a gamer and as any real gamer I eat at my desk, so crumbs, food, etc. gets on the surface of my desk and that being my keyboard, this keyboard removes that worry. I've spilled water and food over this keyboard and I can safely remove it after. The sound level is pretty quiet, keys are responsive, the hand rest isn't much but doesn't bother me at all, I like the space bar having some grip, I don't use lighting on the keyboard since i'm use to it and know all the key locations but it does help and surely adds appeal if you like lighting.

What's Not To Like
by Rick B (5 out of 5 stars)
June 17, 2019

This is a nice match with my Corsair Ironclaw RGB mouse. I can easily select any solid color easily with the iCUE software or just let it cycle away. The MX cherry key switches are super nice. They aren't too clicky and are very responsive with a smooth texture on the keys. I came from a red K70 that got kinda beat up from a few spills over the years. It still works OK but I figured it was time for a new one. The only thing I like better is the K70 has a nice braided cord and this dose not. The lighting is nicer on the K68 RGB model and the keys are easier to read with larger lettering. I definitely do not regret this purchase and glad I ignored the negative reviews. If you want a nice reliable keyboard that looks great look no further and pick one of these up.

good keys, poor software customization, embrace the rainbow ... no thanks
by B. Hill (2 out of 5 stars)

So the feel of the keys is excellent. The software (iCUE) to manage the colors, macros, etc. is terrible. Want to perform an action based on a key combination then prepare for a mind boggling configuration setup. And once you pick a color layout for your keyboard it "reverts" to a "rainbow pattern" whenever your PC is locked. What? This fancy keyboard can't even keep a static color when the screen is locked. Customized? Hardly. What a waste of time trying to figure out this software. So many questions in their forums about how to configure it. None of it very intuitive. I think I'll be passing on all things iCUE related from Corsair. Too bad, I liked the "spill proof" and mechanical keyboard feel otherwise.
