I've wanted a portal gun for ages, and now that I finally have one, I thought everything would be great. At first it was. I would portal to work to avoid the hellish commute. After work I'd portal to the bar, and later home. I could portal the kids to soccer practice. Portal to Jamaica with the wife for a few hours on the weekend.

I don't know whether I entered the wrong coordinates, or the portal gun malfunctioned, but last week when I tried to use it to go bowling, instead a bunch of monsters poured out of the portal, ate my family, destroyed my house, and I barely made it out alive. I was hiding in another dimension, but the Galactic Federation police found me and claim the portal gun is illegal, so now I'm on the run again, barely keeping one step ahead of them.

The Funko brand Portal Gun is definitely the way to go. It is well made, has decent weight, and the sound it creates doesn't sound too cheap. It projects a decent portal in a bright room, but looks better in darker places. It is an excellent prop replica for fans of Rick and Morty.

As a fan of Rick & Morty, I hadn't kept up with the merchandise all that well, and was surprised when I saw this Funko replica.

For the price (currently $12) you get an outstanding, full-sized replica. I'm honestly shocked at this, as I'm used to companies putting out half-assed, inaccurate, and cheaply-made junk to make a quick buck. The art style of Rick & Morty isn't very detailed, but they worked with the detail they had and knocked it out of the park.

The portal gun has decent weight, and is pretty faithful to the show. Pressing the dial down makes the tube on top light up, while a static image of a portal is projected, and one of several portal sound effects plays (e.g. normal portal opening, portal closing, portal opening with sounds that seem to be of people/objects moving through.)

I was expecting the lenses on the front to be comprised of a single genuine lens, to project the portal image, while the other two would simply be painted, opaque plastic. I was surprised to see all three are the same: Transparent, (almost florescent) green plastic lenses. The other two contain green LEDs that add additional light to the portal image.

Speaking of the portal image, it's a little dim, even in the darkness. I could easily see someone opening the portal gun and swapping out the LEDs for super-bright LEDs. This might help the effect some.

The dimension display is an inset sticker, but it's not bad looking. Looks like a high-quality vinyl sticker, not a cheap paper one. The display shows dimension C-137. It would've been really nice had this been a translucent piece with a red LED backlighting it.

I do wish the power switch (hidden on the bottom) had an additional setting that turned the top light on constantly, rather than it only lighting up when the button was pushed.

Immediately after learning about this portal gun, I found out there was an earlier model by a different company that is absolute garbage in comparison. Inaccurate handle, crappy-looking dimension display sticker, with a solid green tube on top with a cheesy, wrap-around sticker for detailing. And the front is flat with no detailing except a small hole for the image projection and the other two "lenses" are simple solid-colored dot stickers! And it's two and a half times the price of this one!

If you're trying to decide between the two, don't let the price fool you. This one is cheaper, but far, far more detailed.

Unlike most replica items this is size for an adult hand. It has the time Crystal dialed to dimension c-137 and even projects a portal when fired.

If you're a fan of Rick and Morty, this is definitely a piece to have in the collection. The design Is simple much like the show(the show is animated after all.) It has a decent weight to it, with a nice semi-reflective surface. The projected portal has a very clear picture, and the sound produced is clean especially considering the price point. The jar of isotope 322(?) is plastic with a green light that glows when the portal gun is activated. The pseudo digital display shows "C-137" Which leads me to one of the only gripes I have with the piece. It would be nice if the display could change, or at least light up. Considering the price point, it's not a deal breaker for me though. So in summary If you want to flip a finger to the galactic federation, you should definitely buy one.

Actually lights up a green portal spiral on whatever surface you aim it at and the sound effects are dead on. You don't have to take us out of the package to see what it's like and play around with it. Luckily the trigger is exposed. There are MULTIPLE versions of the teleportation device gun BUY FUNKO ALONE!! Make sure you're getting the good one. It was just released 3 weeks ago approximately. I pre-ordered 3 months in advance. Currently there is a three month backorder from Amazon Prime and their recommended listing.

I've seen a few different versions of this and I'd say that this is the best one. It looks as accurate as possible considering that it's based on a cartoon with very simplistic art, it lights up and has sound effects to mimic function and even projects a "portal". As a fan of Rick and Morty I highly recommend this portal gun. The only thing that would've made it better would be if there was a way to set it for different universes, but that's such a minute or issue that it is still a 5 star product.

Its a pretty basic child's toy. Looks like Ricks Portal gun and lights up when squeezed. It projects a small portal onto the ground but the light isn't very strong. The numbers also do not light up. Just the case on top. There's no bells and whistles here just a simple fun toy to play with. If your looking for a way more authentic prop then keep looking. You get what you pay for here and I'm happy with what I got.

Even though I got it as a display piece for myself my 2 year old has been running around with it for weeks. It shows no wear and still works as expected.

I pre-ordered this a few months back for fourteen dollars and ninety-nine cents free shipping not really knowing what to expect. Just received it today and can easily say it's worth every penny and its a must-have if you are even remotely a fan of the show. Awesome collectible, it doesn't feel cheap or anything, and I am proud do have it displayed on my shelf at work. The lights and sounds are cool, and I love that it projects a portal light on the wall. Nice touch and good work Funko. Sincerely, an adult toy collector and nerd.

Fair warning: your loved one, or ones, will disappear for hours to weeks at a time as they take off on what they'll call "adventures". They'll return with strange "friends" and/or incredibly dangerous parasites and/or wild stories supposedly from far-flung corners of the galaxy and/or some mumbo jumbo about "shattering the grand illusion". They will gain a raging superiority complex, an entirely new, undiscernable vocabulary, and alcoholism. But mostly alcoholism. If they ever invite you to go along, just don't. Because you'll probably die. But you inevitably will anyway, because what do I know. You've been warned.
