My son bought this bc I don't let him or his sister drink soda very often. The "cola" scent just smells disgusting, like chemicals. Instead of drinking water from a cup that fools your brain into thinking you're drinking cola, you're drinking water from a cup that stinks so bad you get a headache. It has remained under my son's bed, in the box, wrapped in plastic (to hide the stink) since they got it. We tried it once and never touched again.

Update: I take the reviews that I write for items that I purchase pretty seriously. I wouldn't ever want to post an untrue or hurtful review just to be a jerk. So, when I gave this cup a 1 star review, it was because it deserved a 1 star review. This cup is expensive, it smells terrible-like chemicals, and gave several people in our home a headache. I understand the concept of odors influencing your sense of taste however, when the odor is a disgusting chemical stink, you aren't going to fool your brain into thinking you're drinking cola. Here's where my new issue with this product and the product's sellers comes in. After my review was posted, I received an email from the sellers ASKING ME TO CHANGE MY STAR RATING SO THAT OTHER PEOPLE WILL STILL BUY THEIR PRODUCT!!! What!?! That's so dishonest and a really crappy way of conducting business! So to reiterate- DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT. IT'S A WASTE OF MONEY AND A PIECE OF JUNK. IT TOTALLY DESERVES A 1 STAR RATING I WOULD NEVER EVER CHANGE IT!

I have a very strong sense of smell, so I thought this product might work well for me - no such luck. The cup I purchased had a faint hint of apple when it first arrived, but smelled more strongly of plastic. I handwashed it and let it sit out for a couple of days before trying it - still smells of plastic, and even less like apple! Complete waste of money.

They sort of work. My wife is pregnant and craving coca cola, and she is more then happy to have the cola 'flavoured' cup. That being said, I wouldn't say it tricks the mind 100%, but works to some extent.

I put carbonated water in it like the instructions say. The 1st few drinks it tastes like an unsweetened cola. Which is good but after a few uses the taste is gone. I've hand washed it and it still doesn't taste like soda.

We purchased the wild berry version of this cup for my daughter. Water is the go-to drink at our house, and we normally avoid juices and sodas. We thought this would be a fun way to have a "flavored" drink. Bottom line is it does not work. The wild-berry flavor smells chemically and the smell doesn't influence taste. In the end, we feel like we purchased an expensive, smelly plastic cup.

If you've watched Shark Tank, you've seen how cool this cup is supposed to be. Drink more water, it's like drinking juice! Farthest thing from the truth. The cup smells okay, but unless you're licking the rim of the cup, there really is no flavor to the water at all.
