I purchased the RoomyRoc Mobile Laptop Desk/Cart/Stand with Adjustable Tabletop and Footrest Computer Table to provide a flexible solution for working from home. The desktop provides room for both my laptop and notebook. It is a stable surface and I have yet to get it off balance in any way. I thought the footrest was an afterthought but it has allowed me to work from several different chairs and the couch more comfortably. It is sturdy and I did not anticipate any issues until . . .

I had the RoomyRoc Mobile Laptop Desk/Cart/Stand with Adjustable Tabletop and Footrest Computer Table laptop desk about 2 weeks and saw a crack in the wooden desktop. If it was not so new I might have tried to glue and clamp it but instead, I wrote to the company. Much to my amazement within a few hours I received an apologetic note from Sunny their customer service manager. She offered several options including replacing the wooden desktop at no charge to me. Within 5 days I received the new desktop. I installed it and everything is working as advertised.

I am pleased with the laptop desk and will use it inside and out for many years to come. I am more pleased with the customer service as sourcing directly from China was a concern. Sunny and her colleagues appear to understand customer service and they turned a product failure into a customer service success.

The laptop desk that I never knew I needed but now love

Been searching for an elevated laptop desk for a while. All I was finding was options that look like something for a hospital or just some tubular rectangle. Interestingly this showed up in the results and I was intrigued. A whole new range of options came to mind. I could use it as originally intended, a standing laptop platform, but now I could quickly adjust to become a minimalist desk in a comfy chair or longneck laptop stand for working on something like a car or home repairs (speaking from experience) thanks to the counter weight. So, ordered and delivered.

Out of the box I had an issue. HOWEVER, before you make up your mind and move on, this isn't the part to base your purchase decision. The wire to adjust the height is held in place by loop mounts. One of them was broken. Easily disappointed. I read the other reviews where you may need to pack it up and send it back so consider me double disappointed.

I sent an email to the seller and THIS is the part to base your decision. Another thing to note is that this transpired over the recent holidays. I received a response very quickly. They were ready to take care of everything to get the product in perfect order. Replacement parts were on their way and email updates were almost sent daily. I received a video and document on how the replacement part would get swapped in. Luckily, this product is so well constructed and modular that none were needed for reference. I had the laptop desk fixed in less than 10 minutes.

With regards to the product itself, it looks, feels, and operates with some notable quality parts. The counter weights are very heavy. The neck is solid. The ottoman is thick and comfortable. It's extremely stable to work on. It is a 5 star product and I love using it. If you are on the fence then I hope you rest assured that it's worth it if you need the versatility and portability.

If... and this is a stretch for if there was one improvement I would suggest is that I assumed blindly that the wood top could turn at 90° to the neck. It can but it requires tools. I think that's fine since that was an added feature but not reason for my purchase. A quick release of some sort would almost convince me to buy another.

In final, this product comes with solid parts and great support to back it up. Highly recommended.

I work from home, generally in an easy chair in my pajamas. Over time I've noticed my body getting misaligned from improper chair support. I don't have the room for a proper office - and I wouldn't use it anyway - and this product looked like the perfect solution for me to work in my living room. So far I'm loving it. I can go from working at my station to working in my kitchen and back to my station with ease. At 45, each up and down starts to count, and it's easier for me to just remain standing. And the unit is light enough that I can carry it upstairs to work in my room if the family is around and using the living room. I'm going to be ordering a new living room chair with good support soon, and I'm looking forward to using this work station in a sitting position too.

Like others, I had an initial problem lowering the desktop. You just need to be forceful with it. It takes a pretty heavy hand to lower the desktop.

The one thing I find surprising is that this desktop did not and does not come up in any of the amazon searches that I did when looking for a portable laptop desk. I just happened to open up amazon one day when it was featured.

The videos, like AlanC's unpacking video, are pretty good. The only thing that is missing is a better description of adjusting the hydraulic button nuts. Mine came over-tightened and it took a while for me to figure out how to adjust them just right.

That said .... this is a much better lap/desktop furniture piece than anything I have found out there.

I avoided this product b/c of the ad. I thought it would be a crappy product since they used a half dressed girl to try and sell it. It was easy to assemble and so comfortable to use. It moves easily over carpeted floors. I only use it when I am sitting down. I am 5 foot 7 inches and it goes to my rib cage, so I would have to look down the whole time.

I am fortunate enough to work from my home so i've been looking for something like this for a while that will allow me to step away from the desk but still be able to work comfortably. The unit came packaged very well, it is extremely sturdy and it was nice having the gas shocks instead of a series of screw knobs to adjust the height of the desk. It also has a nice wide desktop easily accommodating my laptop and mouse.

This is a quality "desk" if that is what you call it. It makes working and falling asleep in front of your computer a little more comfortable (footrest), provided you have a decent chair with tilt and a headrest. It's a little tricky to get the pneumatic button in place and working properly but there is plenty of documentation online about what you need to do. Works well in the standing position as well as seated. Haven't had any issues with it so far except accidentally hitting my foot against the wheel stop levers and wondering why it wouldn't roll all of a sudden. I definitely recommend it, with or without the model.

It's easy to put together. It's quality materials. There's a button on it that makes it really easy to adjust the height, especially adjust it up because it's hydraulic.

My single gripe is that the adjustment button gets in the way. It would be great if the button was moved or if the table top was larger. Other than that, it's really awesome. One of the best purchases I've made.

Awesome Product. Assembly is easy. Height adjustment did not work as shown in the videos, but later I received help from customer service representative/Nancy. She did video conference with her engineers and resolved the issue. They have agreed to post one more video on how to trouble shoot height adjustment issue for the benefit of their customers.
