A giant LEGO Millennium Falcon.

You already know if a $800 box of plastic bricks that will resemble the Millennium Falcon when finished is something up your alley.

If you are that sort of person, you won't be disappointed in it. Thing is massive. The instructions actually have images to show you how to properly lift it and move it around.

I clocked roughly 21 hrs total build time. I'm not sure if that's fast or slow. Make sure you not only have somewhere spacious to build it but also somewhere in mind to put it before starting.

One look at the manual (see pic) when you take it out of the box and you'll get an idea of what you're in for.

Got it where it counts...

I won this hunk of junk in a card game. Fastest ship in the galaxy if you ask me. A little rough around the edges but hey it's got a working Dejarik board so that's sweet. Has panels for hiding stuff from Imperial inspections and the seats in the cockpit recline a good amount. Easily meets the advertised 12 parsec jump time.

Downsides: she's real ugly. If your trying to get a date with like a princess or something, she's probably not going to be too impressed. And there's this distinctive wet Wookie smell eminating from it. Not sure if it's something a couple dozen air fresheners can take care of or not.

You better be willing to sacrifice a piece of furniture for this monster

A word of warning, the box this thing ships in is massive, it barely fit in my trunk. I opened up the shipping box to find another box, and inside that box was yet another box, and inside that box was four more boxes. Each of the four boxes contained like 15 bags of pieces, the boxes were not packaged by stage, instead i had to sort through all four. I started around 330 on a friday. Im still not done, but coming up on about 18 hours. If you are like me and grew up with legos and love star wars, but only got the sets that your parents could afford to get you but always coveted the big expensive ones, then this is definitely up your alley. Time consuming, fun to build, and incredibly detailed. I had been waiting for this thing to be available for about 8 months, and as soon as i saw it was in stock, i jumped on it. THIS is a true collectors item for both Lego and Star Wars fans. The only dilemma i have right now is where i am going to put it. If you are a parent, and thinking about buying this for your kids, think twice because this is NOT a toy. I have two kids but bought this for myself. It would definitely be a great family build project though. This build has so far been tedious, but an absolute blast and i cant wait for the finished product!

Take you time building it and make sure you place the pieces correctly...it's hard retracing your st

I was always regretting not purchasing the first Ultimate Lego Millennium Falcon (>5000 pieces and $500) but I was thrilled when I heard Lego creating an upgraded version of it and I promised myself that I wouldn't miss this one. This kit is huge. It took my 3 boys and me over 18 days to complete it on a part-time basis. We took out time building it because we enjoy the entire build process. It is pretty cool the way it's designed. It has a Techniques internal frame and the armor plates rest on top of the frame. I wish they designed the armor plates to attach to the frame to make it a stress bearing piece and adding to the overall rigidity of the model but alas they did not. When you finally place all the armor on top of the frame it will cause the frame to flex hence you cannot just pick up the model but you will have to carry it a certain way if you want to move it. Of course I'm just nit-picking, make no mistake this is an awesome model and an engineering miracle. I love it and it's totally worth it.

A worthy use of time

It was much bigger than I thought it was despite knowing how many pieces there were. I ended up working on it for about an hour each day after work and it's been a ton of fun. There are so many small details that just haven't existed on this level before on Legos and while I had been a bit hesitant to spend the money on this at first, I can say that it was more than worth it. There is a sense of pride and accomplishment to seeing it slowly take shape and when it's finally done, it's almost sad because the work is over. Can't wait for the next Ultimate Star Wars Lego set. Gonna be bigger and better!

Love love love this!

For anticipation, fun, family time and shear WOW factor, this product gets a 5 of 5 ! ! ! Since we all love it, why a 4 of 5 then? The interior/floor plan of this is not complete or consistent with the movie layout. Getting into the few usable spaces is also not so user-friendly. The design is not really solid, so it can't easily be picked up - pretty much just for looking. That said, we still love it!

Great craftsmanship and wonderful distraction.

Great set. Really impressive amount of detail and presentation. You can really tell artists created it and that there was true passion behind the project. I bought it to take a break from technology, computer and phone screens all day. It's a great emotional relief. It makes me focus on a task instead of stressing about day-to-day troubles at work or home.

THE Lego Set!

I don't know how you can NOT give this five stars!

If you can get your hands on this set, get it! It is the largest production set ever! It is HUGE! The box itself is more like an end table than anything else. This will provide many hours of fun!

This is not for beginners or young children.

Architectural marvel, but pay close attention to things
by John Hoagland (4 out of 5 stars)

Good:

This is an architecture marvel. I can't even imagine the engineering that went into figuring out how all the pieces came together.

Bad:

This set had a lot of wrong/ missing pieces (I count at least 12). For example, a step will say to add a 1x2 dark gray tile piece, but there are no dark gray pieces left in the numbered bags, so I had to use a light gray piece instead. Or a step will say to add a 1x1 dark gray tile piece, but there are none in the current bags so I have to use a left-over one from a previous step.

And I didn't care for the blind connections: the step would basically say "this section goes on this section" without clear directions about how the yellow axle piece should fit into a specific stud. Sure, it's probably logical where the part should go, but it would have been better if there was some sort of cut-away view to make it clearer.

And I don't understand the organization of the steps.

For example, step 1 will say to connect a 2x6 black piece to a 2x10 gray piece. Then step 2 will be to add a 2x4 red piece to the the 2x10 gray piece. Why not combine these into 1 step?

Then step 10 will be a "sub-assembly" of 5 steps (repeated twice) and put into place. Why not split into 10 steps?

Then step 20 will say to connect 3 1x1 brown tiles pieces, 2 1x1 black pieces, 4 1x4 tan pieces, and 2 1/2 gray pieces. That could 11 pieces in 1 step.

After all, the set has 1,379 steps, so why not reorganize these a little bit?

Definitely worth it

Expensive, but if you are a Star Wars and Lego fan, you won't be disappointed. The box arrived undamaged, and it was very nice that the pieces were arranged in bags according to the phases of the build. All in all, the total assembly took just under 50 hours of work, but I was trying to enjoy it and not go for speed. There's a lot of cool details that reveal themselves as the build progresses, which adds to the enjoyment of the process. This thing is massive, so make sure you have a large work area and have a spot picked out to display it when you are done.
