Got this for a friend who grew up in NYC. I was expecting it to smell like homeless people and garbage but I was pleasantly surprised at how nice it smells

Homesick fragrances are hit-or-miss for me. Love the typography, burn time, and price. But LA-where is your smell? We burn these in our small-ish office at work, and this one gives off a faint fragrance of ... burning candle? Major weak-sauce. You're rolling the dice when you buy any fragrance online based on description, but in our experience Homesick candles say one thing, and show up smelling like another. In the case of LA, sort of nothing-y, with notes of lit match.

Both the Seattle and Washington versions have that generic "cheap scented candle" smell, like a combination of old lady perfume and moth balls. 1/10, would not recommend. Both returned

Husband is from Miami. When he opened his gift, he looked at me like "why did you buy me a candle?". I said "SMELL IT!" He started naming off things back home of which the smell reminded him, and immediately lit the candle. Love it! Highly recommend.

I don't know what part of LA they were smelling, but this smells nothing like LA, which is not a bad thing ;]

I really like this candle, it's got a nice scent that travels well and is a beautiful design. The box it comes in is very beautiful as well.

Boston candle

Candle smelled very nice. The Boston scent is very cinnamon-y. It smells like the holidays if that is what you like. Package came in a very secure box. I also like the simple labeling on the candle. Makes for a good gift!

What a rip off

I purchased this candle hoping for the smell of the ocean and of home. This candle didn't even remotely have any scent reminiscent of Long Island. Additionally, when burning, this candle didn't even have a scent. Don't be mislead by hopeful nostalgia. This candle stinks...actually it doesn't because it doesn't even smell like anything. Big fat waste of money!
