Nose breathing at night is superior in every way to mouth breathing, but since you can't readily control which passageway you utilize unaided, mouth strips can answer the call. For anyone new to nose breathing at night, these are a 30-day supply of 1-time use mouth strips that cover your entire lips. It has a small gap in the middle to help with mouth breathing airways in case you do want to open your lips partly for breath, but honestly you don't need it. I gave these 3 stars because I've realized after aided nose breathing for several months that I don't like tape to contact the surface of the entire length of my lips. In addition, each 1-time use strip comes in what I feel to be an excessive amount of packaging, which may very well account for half the cost of the purchase. It's very time consuming to cut out the strip from its packaging every single night. I use the B005OFM6JE 3M 1" Transpore Tape now where I can just break off a piece from the roller akin to scotch tape and put it at the center of my mouth. Solves both problems and at less than half the cost.

With nose breathing, I wake up feeling 10x more rested and even if I feel tired during the day, I hardly ever yawn anymore. Plus I have noticed my ability to process air during aerobic activity to improve 100 fold! I just ran a 5k the other day entirely with nose breathing only and finished in the top 5 of over 50 contestants!

I never write reviews. I guess I don't trust them. I really wonder about the people that have the time and energy to tell complete strangers how much they liked their sheets, toothpaste, jeans, etc. But here I am, writing a review for tape you use to keep your mouth closed. My friend told me about somnifix and when I saw her screen shot of the product, I laughed out loud. I thought it was a joke. It was only a few days earlier that I was telling her about my nighttime mouth-breathing issues that was threatening my co-sleeping habits with my husband and left me waking with a tongue so dry it was cracking. One look at the product and I said, "I guess I'll never have sex again...." But I was desperate enough that I ordered a box. I applied the product and when my husband saw it, he laughed so hard he cried which only confirmed my suspicions about the aforementioned sexual activity. I have to admit that at first I thought I was suffocating since all that mouth breathing had convinced my brain that my nose couldn't be relied upon to move air into my body. But eventually things worked out and now I cannot sleep without the product. My dentist is genuinely impressed that my mouth doesn't look like a swollen war zone anymore and the hygienist doesn't need to call in sick when I'm on the schedule for a cleaning. My loud nighttime breathing has lessened and The warmth of my bed has increased now that my husband doesn't have to run for the hills. I even still have sex once in awhile although not with the somnifix on. It has got a looooong way to go before it becomes an aphrodisiac. So give them to all the teenagers and pick up a box for yourself. You'll be glad you did!

What the hell just happened?!

I bought my SomniFix box 3 weeks ago but have been putting off trying it. Can you blame me?

I live in New England and during the fall and winter months I've woken up with a dry mouth and stuffed nose for most of my life. I just thought that's how it worked. Even with a humidifier running.

Waking up this morning was different.

My throat and nose felt EXACTLY the same way as they did when I went to bed 6 1/2 hours earlier. No dryness. No congestion. No disgusting phlegm build up. No dried nose mucus. (Sorry for the overshare.) My nose and throat felt normal.

I even woke up wondering, "What time is it?" as the early winter mornings are still dark. Perhaps I had only been asleep an hour or two? But then I felt the second incredible side-effect of this amazing invention: Restorative sleep. I had awoken on my back - in the same position and place I went to sleep. And I didn't have the usual December morning grogginess. I felt great.

Could this have been the best night of sleep I ever had?

I'll wear the SomniFix strip again tonight to find out.

Not only do I no longer annoy my husband with snoring

These were a HUGE step up from the medical tape I used before!! The tiny breathing mesh in the center takes away any angst you might have about taping your mouth shut. My dentist originally told me about mouth taping and it was really life changing. Not only do I no longer annoy my husband with snoring, it's brought such awareness to my breathing during the day. Good quality breathing is so important to good health and this has been a fantastic discovery!

Effective anti-snoring tool!

I go through my day habitually nose breathing. However, once I go to sleep, I start mouth breathing, and I snore like crazy. After the first night I used this strip, I noticed that my nose wasn't clogged at all. I'm usually congested until I take a hot shower. My wife told me that I slept silently, not the slightest snoring sound. To prove it, she recorded one night without the strip and one night with. The results sleep for themselves. I haven't missed a night since I saw how much my sleep improved. No dry mouth, no congestion, no waking up my wife!

Best of the mouth tapes

I almost gave these 5 stars, except that I can feel them when I'm sleeping, and occasionally they move around near the corners of my mouth, although they haven't come off on their own yet. Other than that, they have definitely helped keep me from waking up with dry mouth, and I'm pretty sure they are helping with my sleep apnea too by preventing my mouth from opening, forcing my nose to do all the breathing. I didn't suffer from snoring, but when I slept on my back, my mouth would drop open. I tried other mouth tapes and they were more annoying and caused breakouts on my skin. These work much better.

I bought these because I am not a mouth breather normally. When I do mouth breath when sleeping, I do not get restful sleep (neither does my wife) because of snoring. I just received these and have used them for 3 nights now. I'm still learning how to apply these strips to my lips. They have a little breathing hole in the middle which helps the claustrophobic feelings that you may feel. Really very comfortable. My problem has mostly been due to facial hair and finding the correct way to apply these strips such that they help keep my mouth closed. 1st night I was perfect, the last 2 I've had problems getting the strips placed where I want. I'm pretty confident with a little more practice I'll get this worked out.

If you don't want to use one of those mouth piece anti-snoring devices that keep your mouth open and pulls your jaw forward (very claustrophobic to me) then, I would recommend you trying these. They are very unobtrusive compared to the mouthpiece designs and it works! I have no affiliation with this company and receive no compensation for this review

I was afraid that the adhesive would dry out my lips and make my face break out, but so far after a few weeks of using this, no issues. This is reduced my snoring down to next to nothing. I traveled last week and decided not to wear one because i was alone (no husband) and man did I regret it! Back to having dry mouth and kept waking up. When I sleep with this, I sleep sound and no more dry mouth.

I am upset I bought this item for my husband. I don't know how to rate how they work because after receiving this and reading instructions that if you have sleep apnea do not use. I would not have bought these if I had known this. Will cost more to return them than I care to pay.

Useless

Used with CPAP to prevent leakage through my mouth. Followed the directions and tried for 4 nights.

They only stay on for an hour before either the top or bottom lets loose and no longer keeps your mouth closed. Used multiple strips in a night to avoid lessening the adhesive (i.e no reapplication) to give them a fair chance. Plain and simple they just don't stay on as advertised.
