Good unit for emergency and multiple charging needs.
by Martin A. Haugen (5 out of 5 stars)
December 25, 2017

I received the package in good condition. Package contained a high quality box, the battery unit, USB charger, USB C-C cable, and directions. Upon opening I checked the charge, found it to be at 70%. In order to get a good review, I charged the unit to 100%. 70% to 100% took 1h:50m. The manual says it can charge a laptop. I have a small Acer Aspire that I travel with, for checking email etc. It is small, and has an extended use battery, but works well as I travel via motorcycle. Because I do not use it everyday it always needs to be charged before I travel. I set the charger up and started the charge. Laptop was totally drained 0%. After 2 hours of charging I ran out of Jackery Battery power. I got to about 50% on the laptop. About what I expected. During the time it was charging I noticed the internal fan was running to keep the unit cool.

I then charged the Jackery unit. The manual says 7 hours to fully charge the unit. From 0% to 100% took 7h:39m.

I then spent time charging cell phones. I charged 2 Samsung Galaxy J7s from 20% to 100%, using only 50% of the battery. I should be able to get 4 or more charges before have to charge the unit.

I feel that the the unit is high quality, and well worth the money. I don't think I will continue to use it for charging my laptop, but should be a good unit for other charging needs. As I use it for other uses, I will update the review. I would have liked to do a video review, but a house full of people does not allow for a quiet time to do it.

Purchased in June 2018, used once, dead in Feb 2019
by Robert T. Tabor (1 out of 5 stars)

The headline says it all. Used it on a trip to Colorado. Used it once during that trip. Took it out of storage this past week for a trip to Seattle. When I press the power button, I got "188" on the display, then "0". Tried charging overnight. Tried charging with the stock charger. Tried different cords. At some point, the display no longer comes on. I got an email back in September notifying me of a recall, but that email went to spam. Tried to reply via Amazon email this past week, but after 48+ hours, no reply as of yet. I see that Jackery responds to Amazon reviews, so I'm hoping they can help.

Great except for mechanical malfunction (UPDATE: Great Customer Service)
by Laura A. Danielson (5 out of 5 stars)
August 25, 2018

I have had this product since April 2018, and thus far has worked great. I can get 3+ full phone charges and nearly a full laptop charge. It is light and portable. However, when pushing the power button recently it became stuck. I have only lightly used this product- once per week maximum. With the button stuck receded, I can no longer turn it off or on.

The company claims a 24 month warranty period, so I will update my review after hearing back from Jackery about my claim.

UPDATE: I received excellent customer service from Jackery- they had a very quick response time and successfully honored their two year warranty promise by promptly sending me a replacement battery and a prepaid postage label to send back the old power bar. Really speaks to their customer service that they had enough trust to send me a new power bar before receiving my old one.

Would buy from Jackery again!

First impressions are good but there are a couple things to be aware of
by Devilz (4 out of 5 stars)

This is a nice compact power bank with 85watt inverter which is perfect for field work where I require 120vac power for networking service. I did try to power a string of 50 mini LED lights using this device and while the inverter does power on and run the lights it unfortunately turns back off within 1-2 minutes due to not sensing adequate AC load. It does however have no problem powering a small VGA monitor and or a POE power supply without turning off. The manual and sticker on the unit makes it sound as if the inverter will stay on once powered on but it does have an auto shutoff. so keep this in mind when trying to run very low wattage devices. The percentage display is nice for determining how much charge is left in the battery. I was able to charge this power bank from a conventional USB outlet in my vehicle and from my computer using a USB to USB-C cable but it does take a considerable amount of time to charge even on a 2amp USB outlet. I own a much larger power bank with inverter but it is far too heavy and bulky for travel and hauling around on roofs for service work, this power bank fits the bill nicely for shot duration use. I will upgrade this review as it proves itself in the field.

Note: The two USB ports become inactive when the power bank is charging from the USB-C port.

Excellent laptop charger
by Amazon Customer (5 out of 5 stars)
October 23, 2018

I tested my laptop charging immediately when I received this portable charger. First I fully charged the portable charger until the digital screen showed "100". And also used my laptop on battery only until it was under 5% and giving battery warning notifications. Turned on portable charger first, then plug in laptop power cord. Continued using my laptop. And in a little over an hour the portable charger did charge up my nearly depleted 8 hour laptop battery to be 92% full while constantly using the laptop. The portable charger became warm but not hot while charging. I'm sure

the portable charger could also power cell phones and other smaller devices many times. This portable charger is relatively compact, so good for car camping and other travel uses.

Great unit and service (n.b. Fix for non-charging USB C port)
by Waldemar (5 out of 5 stars)
May 7, 2018

Revised review: great unit, and very responsive service from Jackery. My unit initially worked superbly, but after a couple of months it wouldn't charge. My solution for this is below, but when I commented on the issue, Jackery immediately reached out, offered several options, and sent me a replacement unit. (Yes, I preferred having a working unit over a refund.) Couldn't be happier about the service.

About the unit: I've used it to run a small LED projector, eke out extra working time on my MS Surface Pro 4 (which as yet has no good alternative for portable power), ditto with my 15" MacBook Pro (yes, it won't fully charge it, but it gave me sufficient extra power to be useful), as well as charge various USB devices. I also use it with a Sony PS-Q3 and PS-Q7 for checking out used vinyl. Gives me a fairly decent fully portable turntable.

So, about the problem: others have noted it as a loose USB C jack. The USB C cable would not seat in the battery pack and I could not establish enough connection to get it to charge. On close inspection, I noted that the USB C jack seemed set back/deep beyond the norm.I surmised that the inner components might have shifted (no, the pack has not been dropped), and so I slapped it hard onto my hand a couple of times to try to get the inside bits to move. The jack was now visibly closer to the surface and when the cable was plugged in, it clicked into place and I could charge. (Photo of current position attached.) Of course, this happened while we were overseas. This solution kept me in operation until the replacement arrived (2-day express) from Jackery. When I get home, it's waiting for me and my son confirmed all looks well.

Great product! Very helpful while traveling
by RL (5 out of 5 stars)

Great product! Very helpful while traveling. The AC plug can power about 99% on my 15" HP laptop. It also can power my iPhone and iPad, even the desk lamp. I have read some reviews before placing order and had a little concerned about the noise it makes. However, so far it works just fine, i can hear the fan running and at least I know it won't get over heated...Love Jackery products! Highly recommend it!

Macbook Pro Charging
by H. T. Sheffield (5 out of 5 stars)
January 15, 2019

I specifically purchased this to power our Macbook Pros on the go, and it works like a champ. Both my wife and I have MBPs (13in-2016 models) and travel with them often. We do light work (no video editing), and usually just need a charge to "top" of off. This does the trick for both. I have only had this for two weeks now and have fully used/drain it three times. Each time was combined use (AC plug for the MBPs, USB-C for my son's Nintendo switch, and the USB type A ports for our phones). However, the majority of the power consumption was from the Macs.

Few Notes:
-Includes 15w USB-C charger and usb-c cable. With that charger takes between 7-8hrs to charge the brick
-It is a little large (about the size of of a 16oz canned beverage, just square)
-The usb-c is an output of only 15watts. It works for Nintendo Switch, but can't charge the laptops with it (MUST use AC). There are power banks that use the usb-c PD that can charge laptops, however most are 30w-45w output. This brick is up to 85w. Meaning it recharges my MBP as fast if not faster than using a traditional Apple charger.
-When using the AC plug, the fan runs (I do not think this can be turned off). It helps keep the brick cool, and truthfully is not that loud.
-It does not include a protective case. It feels VERY sturdy, however if you want additional protection, there are cases on amazon from 3rd parties

This was well worth the price. This brick will continue to remain in our "go" bag until it dies. This is my first Jackery product and I have been pleased with everything so far (packaging, product, support). I will definitely purchase more in the future.

Revised: Jackery made it right.
by J Niedens (5 out of 5 stars)
April 27, 2018

Doesn't work. Will be returning. I tried everything, but I seemed to have been shipped a defective model.

UPDATE: Jackery contacted me and sent me a replacement, which I tried out yesterday and it works beautifully! My graduate school requires laptops but they do not have any outlets, which is problematic when we are there for 12 hours straight. I needed a way to recharge my laptop which does not have an option for a spare battery.

I received the charger two days ago and noticed when I plugged it in, it worked perfectly. It showed me the amount of charge on the display, so I knew when it was done charging.

Yesterday, I plugged my laptop into it when it was at 65%, and it took only about 10 minutes to charge it to 100% while I was using my laptop in class. I was worried the fan might be too loud during the lecture but I tried it anyway, only to completely forget it was on, it was so quiet!!

The charger successfully charged my laptop to 100% in a short amount of time, while I was using it, and there was still charge left on the battery, so I left it plugged in right up to my exam so I could be ensured to have plenty of charge for the test.

I will be recommending this product to my classmates, and I would recommend it to anyone. This company knows how to make things right, which is rare these days. Purchase this product and rest assured that if things don't go according to plan, Jackery will work hard to correct the situation, because they certainly did so with me.

Planes and Power
by CJ (5 out of 5 stars)
January 23, 2019

This makes it through airport security and holds enough power to totally recharge my laptop. I don't need to recharge or drag a number of cords with me on the road anymore; I just charge this again when I reach my destination. I leave the cords plugged in or have a triple-connection on the cord so I just have to feed it out of a pocket in my bag or briefcase. It does take a really long time to charge to 100%, but at 100% you are good to go for at least a day or two unless you have things continually plugged in and running. It is a lot bigger than the conventional charger, you do need a bag or briefcase, but if you travel quite a bit or need minimal power for a long time, like a laptop at a conference, this can take you all the way through the day (charging cell phones as well). You do have to take it out of your bags and carry it on a plane as it is a battery, don't check this one. It's very functional and durable; just make sure to hit the 'button' so that it starts the charging process. I didn't realize this when I first got it since I'm used to just plug and forget, so I a little trial and error. Once you have used it a few times it's second nature. It's also built like a brick, so don't worry about some minor/medium jostling and shifting to the unit.
