I'm a controls engineer with a background in programming and this set is very silly and misleading. Your child would be better off reading a textbook to learn about logic coding and programming. To top it off it's not even fun to play. I don't think I've ever been more disappointed with a product for two reasons. One, the product comes nowhere close to how it's described, and two, my 8 year old daughters disappointment which is even worse.
