Beware! No Refunds Product does not work.

Beware! The claims below are all Substantial. This product should not have been released. We installed it, we get notifications of movement and no one shows up in the video. I actually had my wife stand there and this product would not take a picture or a video of her. Beware, you cannot get a refund for this product. You are stuck with it be advised. Be careful.

A Work in Progress?

I purchased this direct from the manufacturer 1 week ago. It seems to be more of a work in progress than a finished product. If someone comes to the door and drops something off, you may not see them as there is a pretty substantial delay, ~5 seconds before the device starts to record. Unless the person stands for a short period, you will only see a video of your front porch with nobody there. Since I have a 30 day return window, I will probably give it another week to see if it is worth $200. At this point, I inclined to think that it is not and will probably return it.

Hopefully I can find something in this price range that isn't hard wired and doesn't cost $400 (Arlo Pro).

It's a great concept product, however, there are so many quality defects to make this a robust product to deliver as promised. I don't even know where to begin. The wind on palm trees sets it off, but even on high sensitivity it struggles to capture someone approaching the door, yet it seems to get a partial video of ever passing car on the road. Add to that, many times nothing is captures, and the video content is very short which dissolves the concept of monitoring the outside parameter. The camera cannot be activated through the app, unless you physically go to the door and push the "doorbell" button which makes a common sound of a doorbell, then it runs for a bit, yet makes the ding-dong sound as if someone outside rang a doorbell. This is a nice conceptual device but in reality it is completely a piece of garbage which I regret buying. I've called the company twice with suggestions which really went nowhere. Don't buy this thing. It all needs to be brought back to the drawing board and if the mechanics exist inside this tacky gizmo, they need to release a dramatic firmware upgrade to fix the significant problems.

The camera keeps losing the wifi signal after a couple of days. There were no instructions as to how to get it back on wifi. Finally figured out that I need to go to install a new camera every time it loses the signal. That gets old especially since it is supposed to monitor the house when I am gone. Last, by the time it starts recording, the person is gone. I usually get to see the persons back as they are leaving. The picture quality is nice and as long as someone stands in front of it for a few seconds it works well.

Not Great for Apartment Living

Door Cam's biggest point (its ease of mounting esp for apartment dwellers) is also its weakest link. Because of its high mount you mainly see the top of people's heads. In an apartment hallway it only has 4-5 feet in front of the camera and most traffic comes from the sides. By the time the camera catches the person outside they are already out of camera range. The IR mode (which is pretty constant in an apartment has an annoying red cast. Based on the battery gauge I am guessing that the batteries will only last 4 months.

While serving my basic purpose, I would recommend a camera that mounts at doorbell level instead.

I've had this camera for about 6 months now and I would not buy another one. The motion detector goes off on the slightest movement of a leaf and then by the time it lets me know on my phone it is too late. I cannot view live. Other than seeing after the fact it is useless. Waste of money and time and now it will cost me double to replace it with something that works. I emailed concern a while back but never received an answer.

I purchased this unit 3 days ago and installation was very simple, setting up the Wi-Fi and connecting it to my phone, however the problem comes where once I put it on top of my door the door will not close if I reverse the camera around the door closes fine there needs to be a way of changing this. I've tried contacting the company and as of today still have not heard back from them.

UPDATE (10/04/2018):

My credit card account has been credited - finally - for the cloud storage charges. Their 'explanation' as to why I was still being charged was that "Customer did not cancel their cloud subscription when they returned the device to Amazon on August 8th" - even though I had contacted the company to cancel the cloud storage charge TWICE when they charged my credit card.

UPDATE (9/26/2018):

WARNING!

Although this has been returned, and the SquareTrade Protection Plan has been credited, the remo+ door cam company (Olive & Dove) continue to charge my credit card for the $3.00 monthly cloud storage fee. They have done this in spite of the fact that they have been asked (8/14 and 9/14) to cease charging me for that which I do not need and do not want. I have asked (9/14) for CONFIRMATION of this cancellation. They have not replied.

This has been returned to Amazon after several attempts to get it to work.

It installed by placing it over the front door and adjusting the screws to make sure it was tight - no problem. I did remove a metal coat hook rack on the door so that it would not cause interference in the signal between the cam and my router (20 feet away).

Motion detection NEVER turned on - the app had it showing as ON but it was grayed out, indicating it was not functioning.

Contact with the company did not get any satisfaction or improve functionality.

The company representative offered to replace it, but he stopped emailing when I asked whether the return costs would be covered. He also did not respond when questioned about a replacement working as it should. I question whether it is tested before shipping.

So now I have to wait for the Square Trade warranty charge to be reversed. Also have to cancel any cloud storage charge since it is not being used.

Reading other "security cam" reviews, I believe no product works as advertised, so I will wait for a product that is economical as well as functional.

I know there is a bit of debate on this product talking about the pros and cons, and for me love the product.

It provides what you need and function very well without having any dangling cable around it.

And it goes great with my front door color.

After Days of experience, am more relying on the product. The notification sent to my apple watch immediately and recorded video from my phone tells me why. Convenient and worry free!!

NEEDS IMPROVEMENT

First of all it is too sensitive, if a bird flies by it alerts. Most of the time by the time comes online the people are gone. The audio is bad, it is very difficult for the people to understand me. I called the company and they told me to download the new app, which didn't help. I think this is a great idea if they ever get it profected. Maybe i just got a bad unit. I have contacted this company several times with no help. I know have a camera hanging on my door that doesn't work.
